Exactly. I live in River Oaks. One of my kids stepped through a manhole last night. HAD to take her in to clean up serious cuts. Went to the Methodist ER near Kirby. Cameras everywhere.
EXACTLY. Yeah, that'll conk you out. Not at all. That "injury" looks like it was inflicted with a dull blade (like a nail clipper). Sickening. <modsnip: removed opinion stated as fact with no IMO>
I haven't scrolled back through all these pages, but I'd like to know who's funding this defense--the government can't (and shouldn't) fund every defense. As I've told Otto and Mistywaters and a few others, I'm a fifth generation Calgarian who's moved to the US.
I don't think Aliyah's father should benefit financially from this tragedy. It's my understanding that Jasmine's mother is arranging the funeral services. Victims' services will give her around 25k toward those costs. So, most of the money raised through will end up going to charity...
Unbelievable that he thinks what looks like a pretty minor abrasion or collection of scratches would be enough to render him unconscious for close to 24 hours.
Exactly. The ex-wife stated in her affidavit that he had a history of gaslighting her--and she's the mother of his child. Why wouldn't he do it to Jasmine?
I think there's a good chance that Jasmine pretended everything was just peachy with Leeming; she'd just gotten away from the other creep in September or October. She might have been hoping Leeming would change or simply not have wanted to make her mother and sister and the rest of the family...
I guess they ultimately need to lay charges that will result in a conviction--even if they're fairly certain it's first degree murder x 2. Must be awful to know ALL the terrible details and have to do that.
He bought it last year and it's a '15. Those mid-size models must have been 70k CAD new. My mom has the smaller one and I the larger one--same color as his, though we both bought our '15s new.
Except that he killed two people. And ONE was definitely premeditated.
I think he’s trying to get pity—thinking it’ll make him a seem a less likely suspect. All alone and friendless in Canada. But the dog thing, along with some of the info around his divorce, doesn’t make him seem like a very sympathetic character. To the contrary...
He's digging himself a very deep hole. And I'm pretty sure he has no clue what he said to whom on Friday. The pub staff and patrons probably heard a lot of strange stories contradicted by what he said as the day wore on.
There's also a 24 hour Petro-Can carwash in Signal Hill. If he did what's suspected, he might have felt nervous about cleaning up close to home--highways 22 and 8 back to the city, wash in Signal Hill, then head back to the SE.
