CA - 13 victims, ages 2 to 29, shackled in home by parents, Perris, 15 Jan 2018 #5

I'm not sure that the age difference is a "giant honking red flag with a Jolly Roger on it", maybe just a simple red flag will do. If you're trying to say that DT was responsible for instigating the whole thing, I'd agree. But if you're trying to say that LT was powerless to stop this and...

In California, it's not necessarily homeschooling, it's the lack of regulation on homeschooling that has been noted as an issue.

One of the weirder things in all this is the parents' relation to water. http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-perris-couple-children-endangered-20180118-story.html That and the fact the kids showered only once or twice a year. I thought someone in the very first thread had mentioned that...

In today's presser, the DA mentioned that restraining began with hog-tying them with ropes as punishment. Once one of the kids was able to escape, they brought in the chains and padlocks. Seems that it started out as punishment, but in a less open area, with more people around, such as a...

-3 of the kids had some kind of freedom, running around in rural TX -Mom of the child's friend never saw Louise pregnant -Wouldn't reveal their names to the friends -Remembers seeing Armageddon type material on the floor -One of the girls asked how to get a drivers license and how to get a job

-Neglect eventually became abuse -Some didn't have a conception of what police or pills were -Siblings had been planning escape for 2 years -Only activity kids were allowed to do was write in journals [have to wonder at what level they were written in] -Chains and padlocks started out as ropes...

I agree that Dr. Seuss and Disney not necessarily being malicious, but it's interesting how David and Louise (presumably) used them to shore up their public perception (license plates, Facebook photos). I'd be wondering though about the grown children. I wonder what their conception is of the...

Yeah, everything is a mystery right now. The baby looked healthy and plump enough, at least in photos and there wasn't anything so alarming, but I wonder what happened to her, and how did their approach to nourishment change as the kids got older.

Welp, my very first thread, but not a message board newbie. I usually do sports and politics message boards, Facebook, and browse the Reddit subs, but this case was especially weird, and I'd been lead here and found the discussion a lot more advanced. I'd used a lot of my free time the...
