In addition to all of his known lies and lies about his new alibi, I also do not believe that he was shot in the head or that he spent all that money on pills or that his addiction was as severe as he described. Basically, I don’t believe anything he says unless there’s corroborating evidence.
Barret owed him money because Alex paid Barrett’s share of debt on properties they bought together. He represented him at some point, but I don’t think it was for the criminal charges. I think it was a personal injury suit before 2011.
I hope the jurors are paying better attention than these Law & Crime analysts. They have no clue why the hog testimony was introduced. It’s because Alex said he and Paul were riding around looking for hogs (before he changed his story again).
The defense has not indicated at all that they’re questioning the accuracy of the data. They have relied on it too. And the last witness had nothing to do with cell phone data - he was just some guy who did an experiment anyone could have done with their phone.
Both of their cell phones ceased all activity at 8:49, within 30 seconds of each other. Both had been consistently using their cell phones up to that point. Not even the defense is disputing that is when they were killed.
If it’s not proven, describe a plausible theory of who, besides Alex, could have murdered Paul and Maggie. The State doesn’t have to prove the motive if they’ve proved conclusively that he committed the murders. There are some questions that will remain unanswered, but that does not equate to...
Oh I agree that there’s much more to this than we know, but as far as the murders go there is no plausible way anyone besides Alex could have committed them. That’s irrespective of any mistakes SLED made and irrespective of what else Alex was involved in.
The prosecution has proved that no one else could have committed these murders. There simply is not a reasonable alternative version. That’s the very definition of “beyond reasonable doubt.”
For those who are not yet convinced of Alex’s guilt, could you please describe an alternate reasonable way these murders could have happened? I’m just not seeing how anyone else could have committed the murders.
