The Death Penalty is a punishment I never used to believe should be applied. It seems unjust that a cruel and premeditated murder carries different punishments just by stepping over a state border. Yet in recent years, I have changed my attitude somewhat The suffering of the Alexander family...
TexMex contributed a great post (one of many) detailing the shower scene and Arias replaying psycho. My apologies as I can't find the post but I'm sure that others must have speculated on links to the movie. Given how unoriginal Arias is (tracing 'art') and how easily influenced by adverts...
Dr Drew, HLN, more misinformation as a contributor states Jodi's sister never appeared in court during the last trial. No one corrects her. Have any of these people watched more than news summaries? Infuriating. :gaah::gaah:
I agree re JVM. I think better quality callers (screened for accuracy) and guests would improve the programme. Or just employ a panel from WebSleuths as consultants. The depth of knowledge here is impressive.
Sharp observations. Arias is using this, as she did after the murder, to paint her fantasy version of the relationship. She thinks it gives her a link to him, ownership, validation. She glowed when she talked about Travis in interviews after her arrest. She was out of his life but his death was...
Watching Nancy now. First caller sounds like he knows what he is talking about then suggests Travis bled over the sink after his throat was cut. Can't they get more accurate callers?
"When she opens a topic about her relation to God, there is an expectation of personal authenticity, even if you are irreligious, a non-believer. She is about to describe something spiritual." - Tuba
She couldn't even keep her lies straight about being a Mormon. She read the scriptures, either...
She is doing that too, I agree. She isnt always crying when she does the throat slashing gesture. Thst is what is interestng. She certainly doesn't appear to be when Chris Hughes is being questioned. She looks dry-eyes and furious.
It's fascinating how many different interpretations or opinions are offered on this case. Nonverbal communication is a recognised scientific study field but it is limited, by its very nature, in applyng to legal scenarios. Imagine lines of Body Language 'Experts' like 'ALV' offering opinion at...
Thanks for the clips, Rose. I just watched them again. Juan Martinez and Detective Flores must be towards the top of her kill list now. The throat cutting gesture is almost a physical tick. She is evil enough to use it intentionally but it appears to be instinctive body language. She is running...
This is blood chilling. At 3.30 plus minutes in, Arias does one of her throat cutting gestures while glaring at Chris Hughes. It looks like she is playing out killing him, just as she slaughtered Travis. She looks agitated, flushed, indignant. Thank heaven they arrested her before she took her...
Everything we know about Arias suggests that she would have had a sick thrill at being given access to witnesses, telephone calls, meetings and trial documents. All oxygen for her stalking, creepy madness. I bet she enjoyed every moment - plotting and planning how to cause maximum possible upset...
Thanks, ILikeToBendPages. I remember the photos you highlight. Out of interest I did as you suggested and googled Bobby Juarez and Arias:

I'm confident the photo above will have been highlighted on WebSleuths.com before, even as a newbie. The information...
Many thanks for the link. I'd buy a book by Juan too. Like you, I read Jeff Ashton's and liked it. I'd like to hear from Arias' trail of exes. Bobby seems to have slipped under the radar.
Rose, I'd like to learn more about the journals. Also, the stolen engagement ring. And the guy on the plane. And the men at The Purple Plum. And ..... there is so much still to be uncovered. :yeahthat: Hopefully, after this verdict, we can hear from Travis' brave family, Detective Flores and...
Watergirl - "... Could you imagine listening to that nonsense for hours? The man is a saint. The interviews remind me of the game Whack-a-mole."
Hahaha - "Whack-a-mole". Perfect. One ugly lie is bashed down - another two pop up. I agree re Detective Flores. There was so much potential for him...
"We can see this in the killer's relationship to Nurmi, where she fought hard to keep him, he was "the only one" who could prepare her case & represent". - Tuba
Tuba's point perfectly illustrates the parallels between Arias pushing Travis from his pedestal (as described by Dr DeMarte) and...
AZLawyer - " I think she'll use it to attack Nurmi whether she approved it ahead of time or not. You think she'll suddenly develop an aversion to lying? "
Absolutely the point I was making. Can you imagine what a living hell she has made life for Nurmi? She was already setting him up for...
It occurred to me that we won't have to wait long to find out if the, "Nine days out of ten" comment was discussed with Arias. If the ungrateful brat didn't know, she'll use it to attack Nurmi. If she knew beforehand - she'll claim it was an unhelpful strategy, incompetence - leading to...
Absolutely. There was no element of surprise or uncertainty - just a, "Smile and say cheese" moment for Arias to present a last ditch attempt at an amenable glimpse. Not to have rehearsed this would have risked ruining the effect.
