It was something that happened to another woman in the area earlier that day - green van spooked her while on her bike but I have not seen it reported/posted anywhere but here and Im local. Wish we did know more though because I agree it was a good angle that was abandoned as soon as the slew...

It was late that morning - I remember hearing the interview (live while helping with the search, not seeing/reading it) where Charlie and the dad stated that when the graduation festivities ended early afternoon they spent some time calling/texting all friends and trying hospitals before...

Sure - the reason for coming up with other theories is that her sister stated she has the same phone and it has a very long battery life. Also, she used her phone to speak to a friend when BW's phone died (they had been on his phone while at taco bell) and no mention to him when she was leaving...

We can only hope/pray/dream. Wonder when we'll hear anything on the bike or other things they said they found but did not want to release yet.

You make a good point - couldnt they trace her route basically. I think though the way it works is they 'ping' off of towers that can cover areas a few miles wide (at least). So it could just say that if she is in the area because she pings off the same tower the entire ride home. I had the...

At this point Im hoping it isnt involved and they are just trying to keep us busy and out of their way. :)

I agree - and I also believe that this truck then turned on to University and was caught again on camera at 1:51 and has nothing to do with the truck that followed behind Mickey on St Landry. I think the police would have purposefully shown us both pics of the truck when identifying it, would...

Bad wording saying 'chrome package' - sorry. They could have just released that there is in fact a chrome gas cover to eliminate those that don't is what I meant, but they didn't - although they described the 'other' truck as having chrome. And I agree about the decals - just pointing out that...

Yes - several times that has been confirmed and officially we are all supposed to be looking for a white 4 door Z71 - check KATC, LPD site, findmickeynow site, etc etc. And youre right - the one pic looks nothing like a Z71 of any model/year Ive seen.

I think that's all part of the debate haha - its one of the main reasons I figured that was a different truck, no Z71 decal and they didnt mention this Z71 has a chrome package. If they'd release that information it would certainly help narrow it down, yes.

Now though they are telling people by phone that it is the same truck - even if this is still what they have in print online and in the papers here. Ive never seen a Z71 that didnt have those huge decals on both sides of the truck bed...that's the one major identifier of a Z71...the big icon on...

Heavy at first but not much since the bike - small blurbs here and there. I'm speaking about BR news - spent a few nights in NOLA and didn't see anything on their news during that time, only watched late evenings. When we've been in Lafayette over the past two weeks - its all you hear about...

I'm with you here. Not sure who they need to get straight - the person Artis spoke with on the phone or the press release/website/media relations people. On their own website it lists the truck going left as the 'newer model' that was ruled out. Can't be that important to find if that's the case.

Very true - we go to Lafayette all the time and often are out late when we do visit friends. We live an hour away - and not everyone where I am is aware of the truck and all...most have probably at least heard a girl is missing from Laffy.

Absolutely and I wondered that except it is weird that this Z71 still hasn't come forward. This is just the best we got I guess. :( I am not leaning towards RM or a drunk driver anyway - all depends on what else they have on the truck....if anything.

Since we know he was about to be sentenced for 7 years it makes sense he would live with mom, pass the truck on to her, etc. and get things in order. I don't know this, just makes sense to me that is what you would do. It would also make sense that he still drives it around and 'sold' it to...

This. Or...since it was a phone interview maybe they just misunderstood his tone. I think media around here does tend to embellish a bit maybe.

I'm also glad they are at least going that route and contacting white Z71 owners, especially those with priors. Those are definitely two different trucks though - the one going opposite of Mickey does not have the Z71 decal. Police also stated the pic of the truck following Mickey is the only...

I thought this too - then ran it by friends at dinner last night who are from the area and they cackled at me. Everyone's got access to a boat - apparently its like asking if they own a gun...you get a 'duh' response. That certainly rules out any transient type and also means its a local with...

I'm catching on with you quickly - as a local as well your theory answers a lot of my questions. If it is a young/dumb/DUI scenario then the perp is most likely local and no one local would take something and leave it at the shore of Whiskey Bay. Too 'obvious' in one way and SOOOOO many other...
