    TN - Holly Bobo, 20, Darden, believed abducted 13 April 2011 - #19

I'm wondering how they determined his claims of kidnapping were false? Unless he was seen somewhere in public during the time he claimed he was kidnapped? How's this for another wacky scenario, three men abduct both Holly and this guy around the same time as a team? One person leads...

If you're worried about radioactive fallout I think there are other things that will be way more detrimental to your health like air pollution from the cars or factories. :-)

    TN - Holly Bobo, 20, Darden, believed abducted 13 April 2011 - #13

If that's the case it seems they would be hoping that he still has Holly alive and that they might discover him and he would lead them to wherever he hid her? The only problem I have with a scenario like this is that he might just slip away unnoticed and by the time his name finally does get...

So far there is no timeline and very little to go on.

If a phone still receives messages when it's off then it's not really off it's in standy mode. By unmodded I am thinking a phone that isn't jailbroken or the os modified in any way because there are ways to hack the os of a phone to make it operate in a non standard way.

A regular unmodded phone only pings when it is on, there is no use for a phone that is off to ping since it's not sending or receiving calls or messages. Some people here have brought out the case where wiretaps were secretly made on some mobsters phones but that requires the phones to be hacked...

I read your link and it states that authorities can remotely install software that can remotely activate your phone meaning your phone must be enabled to do this first. You can't install this remotely on a phone that is already turned off.

Sources? And if that was the case don't you think they would have recovered the phone by now?

I've done a quick search and it seems like the "pings" are only when the phone is on and doesn't work if the phone is off. Some phones which have been altered may be the exception and I know Iphones have a location system though I am not sure if that also works when the phone is powered off. It...

It makes the most sense to escape via river and I speculated this on one of the earlier threads since there will be less scrutiny traveling via boat and hardly any police patrols except maybe fish and wildlife services.

I doubt a horse was used because you have to have a sizable trailer for it and a ATV would be a much faster and reliable mode of transport.

I disagree, if a phone is off then it's really off otherwise you'd drain the battery real quick. Either way even if she had it on this whole time there's no way the battery could still hold power & it would be useless at this point.

Well if the phone was turned off then the cell towers wouldn't be able to ping her location even if she had it with her. I heard that Apple is going to incorporate a tracking system for the iphone 5 that records where you've been, in cases like this is would be really beneficial.

Does anyone know if the police setup any roadblocks? That's the first thing I though the police should do when this first started.

I asked will nunley if that was still the case on twitter just now. So I suppose it's a good thing the authorities are still hopeful but the clock is ticking.

Or she may be locked in a basement? The lunch box and other items could just be a decoy to get people looking in the wrong direction? I hope that this is the case as he would most likely let her die in the woods rather than risk getting discovered with her IMO.

This is what I suspected initially that to cover all that ground by foot alone was a bit too daunting let alone the logistics of food and dragging another person on foot. IMO the police should have announced this sooner rather than later because now the kidnapper may have just blended back into...

Ok I do recognize that name from the OJ trial I just didn't know it was the same guy or not.
