Australia - Warriena Wright, 26, dies in balcony fall, Surfers Paradise, Aug 2014 #11

Irrespective of how one interprets this very sad situation, I deplore Nine News and Tostee making money out of it. Just boycott it! For most who never watch 60 min crap anyway, this should be very easy.

Australia - Tiahleigh Palmer, 12, slain, Pimpama River, Qld, 30 Oct 2015 #2 *Arrests*

This is very reminiscent of Olivia Baden-Whatsit's public plea to Allison which was something like: "just come home and stop mucking us around". For purposes of my own sanity, I can't bring myself to view that awful video again to get her exact words.

Australia - Tiahleigh Palmer, 12, slain, Pimpama River, Qld, 30 Oct 2015 #2 *Arrests*

Hi All - I've finally caught up with all you speedy sleuthers - thankyou. I been mulling it all over and 2 main issues have struck me: First is the terminology issue. I too, like others, was appalled by the use of the terminology in charges that seemed to diminish the heinous treatment of...

Gerard Baden Clay's murder appeal #2

Thank you JLZ. But, I'm still left wondering: Does GBC have a non-parole period at the moment, or is that yet to be set - if at all? What are the parole conditions likely to be? There's been mention of factors such as remorse etc - which many feel are unlikely to happen. But, surely freedom...

Gerard Baden Clay's murder appeal #2

Could someone please clarify for me what a "life sentence" actually means - particularly in this case. Is 15 years a minimum or a maximum?

Australia Australia - Novy Chardon, 34, Upper Coomera, Qld, 6 Feb 2013 #2 *Guilty*

Who better to smarm incriminating information out of a murderer than Peter Foster? Conning people has been Foster's life's work and he's been very successful at it. I'm sure he did it as a community service and not for the $250,000 reward. Irrespective of why he did it, that's what rewards are...

    Gerard Baden Clay's murder appeal

Hello everyone - Good to hear from you all again, though in a very bad situation. I sort of get the reason for the appeal decision, but have many questions about the decision: During the trial the defence requested changing the charge to unlawful killing. Does this mean that they had GBC's...

Found Deceased Australia - Stephanie Scott, 26, Leeton, NSW, 5 April 2015 - #2 *Arrests*

I think that the police can alert pawnbrokers to look out for particular items. This might explain how the postage of these item became known to the police. Also why, this appears to have happened so long after the murder. Maybe the brother needed some cash?

Found Deceased Australia - Stephanie Scott, 26, Leeton, NSW, 5 April 2015 - #2 *Arrests*

Hi Angeline - Is it certain that it was clothing that was posted? I've only been able to find a reference to "personal affects". It' especially disturbing if it's Stephanie's clothing. I'd been thinking that it could have been valuable items, like her engagement ring. Pawning such items could...

    Trial Discussion Thread #59 - 14.21.10, Day 48 ~ sentencing~

I agree Libra. Reeva's parents must be drained in every possible way - physically, mentally, emotionally and financially. I'm drained by it, and all I had to do was sit in front of the computer with a stiff drink and rant and rave.

It's like Masipa chose the shortest sentence that she was likely to get away with, and then worked backwards from there in terms of her reasoning.

Does anyone know what Uncle Arnold's relationship was like with OP and his siblings prior to OP's fame?

I totally agree Lithgow re the inappropriateness of the birthday wishes for Masipa. Sadly, I think that this might have been Nel getting in first before Roux could. Like 2 people competitively crawling to their boss in the hope of getting special treatment.

    Trial Discussion Thread #57 - 14.16.10, Day 46 ~ sentencing~

Good night everyone. I have to take my leave. I can't stand this any longer (for today anyway). I've finally accepted that OP is beyond the law (albeit the SA Law - but that's the most important law in this case.) Irrespective of what anyone says: by definition, jail is unpleasant largely...

They probably have community sing-alongs too!! I'm sure OP can't wait - not that he should be entitled to a choice anyway!!

If Masipa is in such a hurry, why didn't she tell the parole officer to answer Nel's questions instead of letting her prattle on like a halfwit???????
