GUILTY KY - Ryan Poston, 29, murdered at his Highland Heights home, 12 Oct 2012

I was so relieved to hear this! She is a threat to everyone, but even more so to anyone she is romantically interested in. I'm from this area and I was so nervous when the retrial was announced. She deserves to spend the rest of her life in prison, IMO.

CA CA - East Area Rapist/Golden State Killer *ARREST* #2

Here is the article that explains how the cops got such a good sample: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/04/27/us/golden-state-killer-case-joseph-deangelo.html The sample put in GEDMatch was not from a family member, it was from a crime scene.

CA CA - East Area Rapist/Golden State Killer *ARREST* #2

You are so right. He is very manipulative and actively lied to victims to throw the cops off the trail by telling victims things that clearly were not true. He is very dangerous and do not believe he has changed any. He is not dumb by any means. If he did truly stop killing, he is probably...

CA CA - East Area Rapist/Golden State Killer *ARREST* #2

I've seen it - it does look like him. I wouldn't be surprised if he went to those meetings.

CA CA - East Area Rapist/Golden State Killer *ARREST* #2

I agree! He's a narcissistic psychopath and will do whatever it takes to feel like he has the upper hand. He's probably actually enjoying this (except for the being in jail part).

CA CA - East Area Rapist/Golden State Killer *ARREST* #2

I read an article this morning that said the cops entered the DNA into a database like they were just anyone else entering DNA (under a fake name) in and got a distant hit. They worked it till they found the person who fit their profile and age range. Then, when they had it narrowed down, they...

CA CA - East Area Rapist/Golden State Killer *ARREST* #2

I had hoped he was going to be one of those guys that couldn't wait to spill his guts once caught but I now I don't think so. He was manipulative and a liar 40 years ago and he's still that way now. He deliberately said and did things to throw the cops off track back then and it wouldn't...

CONVICTION OVERTURNED MD - Hae Min Lee, 17, Baltimore, 13 Jan 1999

Darn it, the most important part of my post didn't show up and I can't edit. I do think AS is innocent and that is important however, the biggest reason I want this to be sorted out is because Hae and her family deserve justice. If AS is guilty, he should have a fair trial so the...

CONVICTION OVERTURNED MD - Hae Min Lee, 17, Baltimore, 13 Jan 1999

Just finished reading the whole thread, whew!! I have listened to serial and undisclosed and will be listening to t&j soon. I have to say, after I listened to serial I felt unsure about whether AS was guilty or innocent but I definitely leaned toward guilty. But, my mind was completely changed...

2016.02.26 Mark D. Sievers: Charged with Murder in the 2nd Degree

I just looked back at the April Barber murder case (happened in FL) because I remembered there was a lawsuit in regards to her insurance. Her husband was convicted of murdering her and the insurance money was considered a motive ($2 mil). The proceeds remained unpaid until the conclusion of...

2016.02.26 Mark D. Sievers: Charged with Murder in the 2nd Degree

I don't know where he would get the money to post bail but he won't be getting it from the insurance proceeds. IMO there's no way the insurance companies are going pay him any money. They refused to pay the proceeds when he was a suspect - there's no way they will pay him now that he's been...

2016.02.26 Mark D. Sievers: Charged with Murder in the 2nd Degree

Wow!! I haven't been here in a while but was surprised when I popped in tonight and saw the news! I'm glad that MS has finally been arrested! Thank goodness he didn't hurt the girls during the arrest process. I know we have a way to go before its all finished but this is the first step in...

    2015.12.29 Discovery Docs - Batch 2

I think it means that AW is in trouble and that LE has evidence showing that she knew more about TS murder than she admitted to the police. I think by sharing, they may mean that AW and CWW used each other's phones to send and receive messages. For example, CWW may have used AW's phone to...

The Life Insurance Policies on Dr. Sievers

ATOH - I don't disagree with you regarding the policy owner issue and I said that same thing above in post 111. I worked in the insurance industry for years so I am aware of exactly what rights a policy owner has. Also, it's not accurate that insurance companies are "self-regulated". Yes, they...

The Life Insurance Policies on Dr. Sievers

I can't say for sure without knowing each company's underwriting guide lines, but my guess is no. I would even say that having policies through different companies would make it harder to avoid the exam. Each company would have their own threshold for what amount of insurance would require a...

The Life Insurance Policies on Dr. Sievers

There's no way to tell without looking at the application and the policy file. Unless they had a trust the bene most likely would be MS. Most people normally have their spouse as the beneficiary of their policy based on my previous experience. But, there were a couple of instances I had where a...

The Life Insurance Policies on Dr. Sievers

For the amount she had, yes. I am sure TS knew about the policies being applied for. What I was saying previously was that if MS was the policy owner he could have made changes regarding the beneficiary without the knowledge of TS after the policy was in force.

The Life Insurance Policies on Dr. Sievers

Yes, if MS was the policy owner he would have been able to choose the beneficiary, cash in the policy, etc... With only his signature and TS would not necessarily know about the changes.

The Life Insurance Policies on Dr. Sievers

I paid life insurance claims for years for a couple of different companies in Ohio (but never Ohio National). I just wanted to address a couple of things I've seen mentioned. I know most people don't like insurance companies, but they really do want to pay out their claims - but to the...
