I really want to read what RHornsby has to say about that!

Same! I'm hoping the "horndog" will give us the low down. Maybe he will read here and take pity on us and post his thoughts.

I go to his blog everyday in the hope that he posts something although I realise he feels very conflicted nowadays on doing this and I respect that, as I do him.

Love ya Hornsby! :)

Very nice of JB to wait for poor MN to be present to defend himself over TES issues. MN will eat JB alive and I for one can't wait to see it. MN is probably the most fluent, competent attorney in the pile.

When new crime tech starts before the court, it starts as a technique that is backfilling or corraborating other evidence. So the air samples themselves would not be enough to convict, or be a primary source of evidence. But they can be used to verify and corraborate known accepted science and testimony. Such as the cadaver dog hits, the expert testimony of the initial LE investigators, who recorded their findings weeks before the tests, GA and CA and their excited utterances and independnt observations etc.

So while you cannot proclaim that the air samples prove there was a dead body in the car, you can use them to say that the findings of the new test were consistant with the statements to the smell made by CA, GA and the detective, and were expremely consistant with the observed responces of the certified "cadaver dogs".

If there were no remains found the testing might be an issue. But the remains were indeed found and no disputing that fact.

JP seemed VERY prepared. It appeared to me that JS had kept him up to date on what was happening on the case and he certainly said he had copies of all documents when asked if he needed them he denied saying he already had copies. I think when he asked about things he just wanted to see what the SA or JB would say in return and how accurate it was vs. the knowledge he had from paperwork review and word of mouth from JS.

It is my opinion that he has already decided to bring in jurors from other areas and sequester them there. He went on and on about various details on sequestering juries and the issues with selecting counties outside given witnesses residing in the immediate area having to travel.

MOO

I got a feeling from watching the action today, that when this comes up again in May, the Judge will set a date for JB to see the records. Which will give JB no more excuses to whine about.

JB has been expecting the whining would eventually earn him the right to a copy of all the records, without having to go to MN's office. Which he said in an interview that he shouldn't have to do so. Which confuses all the other lawyers, since that is pretty much a standard expectation in these sort of things.

Their little game of just showing up will not win them anything. This JP doesn't seem to be much into fun and games.

What they will get is a date set in STONE.

No not for me at all. This judge has much respect for Judicial economy and expedition, getting things done! I assumed that there would be a COV and that jurors will brought into Orlando and sequestered. I am certain that it will happen this way in the end.

Judge Perry wants this train outta the station and rolling down the tracks, and pronto! :gavel:

And it will be cheaper to put up 12 jurors in Orlando than to pay expenses for 250 plus witnesses.

I finally had a chance to watch the hearing.
Casey acted as though someone had poured ice water over her head, she sat like a statue even controlling her usually annoying fast blinking. The new Judge seemed to feel quite at home, not so for JB and co.....
I really love that the status hearings will be held often and this trial will finally begin to take shape. No more dilly-dallying.
Caylee has waited long enough for justice and I think this new Judge is going to make sure she sees it.

I'll try to whistle real loud !

I've got a feeling he is gonna reference the 'pissing match' again. lol ;)

Can you please send out the "horndawg" signal?

Thank you kindly.

love and kisses

I bet they'll object to the jury playing Clue and any watching any Pee Wee Herman movies. Especially....Big Top Pee Wee.

A few reasons I think the defense wants to postpone trial as long as possible:

Hoping the smell in the car will be gone so that the jurors cannot not smell it:
Hoping that as the Judge today stated, people’s memory will fade of incidents:
The longer he keeps the case going the longer he can stay on National TV.
My human anatomy book, which I had to take to dissection lab in 1980 , still stinks of the dissection cadaviar (which was supposedly preserved). My husband's human anatomy book still reeks from 1970.
Because these texts cost hundreds of dollars and we still have to use them occasionally, they are kept in two gallon zip lock bags. KC's car has probably also been covered with plastic.

So....IMO, KC's car will still stink for years and years.

I think she looks as if she wants to smirk everytime the Judge says "wherewiffall"

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Casey Anthony sat emotionless during the first hearing in her case in front of a new judge.
Judge Belvin Perry said the jury in the case likely will not come from Orange County, but he doesn't plan to move the trial either.

The judge also took issue with the fact the defense still hasn't talked to the Justice Administration Commission to go over how much the case will cost taxpayers.

"I got time next week and the following week. That needs to be done like yesterday," Judge Perry said.

There will be regular status hearings on the case.

A status hearing every 45 days to make sure you are following this schedule," Judge Perry said.

"We want Casey to have a fair trial. We love the knowledge Judge Perry brings to the bench," Jose Baez said after the hearing;

Cindy Anthony said she felt the proceedings were more respectful and organized with Judge Perry.

And correct me if I am wrong but I think RHornsby said this months ago.

Yes, he called this one long, long ago. He has called a lot of things that will happen correctly. It is a shame Baez doesn't pay attention to he, Mr. Sheaffer and some of the other lawyers that are shouting clues for him from the roof tops.
Even Cindy opined that today was good in court, and very respectful. The whole world has gone mad!

Not sure how the Oak Ridge Air Testing procedures would be admitted other than a case involving a murder. Certainly would not come into a fraud trial. You have to be minus a body for LE to request the testing to be done in the first place. It is a good chance to get it accepted since there was more than just the testing to prove there was a body in the trunk. jmo

Hmm...Baez says he to wants this case to move forward, yet he is the one that has been stalling. Also, notice how Baez loves the media attention..Cheney Mason is just in the back ground...I wish I knew what he was thinking while Baez was yapping away.

Considering how much she disrespects the Court each week by texting and chomping on her gum, that is a ridiculous statement for her to make.

Oh yes, we're SO GLAD court was up to YOUR STANDARDS today, Cindy. Because that's what it was all about, making YOU happy. That woman just disgusts me. Who does she think she is, the Queen of England?

We'll see if she still has hands, for that matter arms, by the time the trial is over. I mean if she can't chew gum, she's got to chew something, right? And those nails aren't going to last long if there's any left after today...

And Baez can't find the proper attention for this case with a flashlight and two hands. Why CM has not booted him out and taken over, I don't know. The man is going to have a coronary or a stroke if he keeps sitting there silently and watching Baez bungle up this case more and more.

Sorry folks,

one other quick note to make about the hearing, when Jeff Aston was talking about penalty phase witness's, Baez got very uncomfortable, he did not like hearing that and neither did Casey. Thought I should point it out.

Yes, I noticed that the camera stayed on them for a while..
JA obviously feels very sure of his case
