If the hair on the duct tape was pulled out of her head while she was alive it would not have the death band and would not form one after death.
The death band only appears in hairs that have fallen or been removed from a dead body.
Death bands do not form on all hair,it has to be attached to a dead body for something like 8 hours IIRC - if it's pulled off before then you might not find one..

Of course, but then you'd have to assume that the tape pulled out all of the hairs prior to Caylee's death. How could that be proven? I'd think some hairs may stay in despite the tape until after death. (Ugh - poor baby girl.)

CA asking about Caylee's hair... gives me a sick feeling. I seriously think CA found a "wad" of Caylee's hair in the trunk of the Pontiac

poor Caylee

Nobody heard the sidebar, but if I were the Judge, I would give JB at least 10 minutes prior to meeting in chambers. No judge wants a to have anyone in chambers who is experiencing the heat of anger. Better to give a little time to calm down.

I read somewhere that when the trial is over, the sidebar transcripts will become available under FLA's Sunshine Law. Can you or anyone else confirm that?

Yeah I know the quote but with what pic should I use? :floorlaugh:

The one where JB asks YM something about had ICA ever committed suicide...LOL I don't have the quote in front of me so can't remember exactly, but I know there is another poster (not sure who ATM) who has the quote in her siggie (but no pic)...

Maybe this was addressed in a prior post, but I am wondering why anyone would put duct tape on a 'dead' CA? Any thoughts on this? tia

I heard one of the talking heads say that when one dies, liquid pours out. (if she downed)
If ICA wanted to keep her quit while she went out to party, so no one would hear Caylee cry if she woke up after been drugged. (L Padilla)

I think after we see the most current visitors logs, we will find that during the trial Jeanne has been visiting ICA. Or at least the hours ICA is available. Her DT team can visit her just about any time she is available at the jail.

One has to remember that ICA has a wake up call around 4:30Am for transport to the court. She is then checked in, escorted upstairs to another holding area immediately outside the courtroom. She either gets dressed for court after the first check in or upstairs. She is always transported in jail garb, chained by the waist and legs.

Doesn't leave slot of time for idle chit chat or to spruce up herself.

The hair with the death band underwent mitochondrial DNA testing, after testing it was revealed it could have come from one of 3 people, Cindy, Casey or Caylee. This is how they knew for sure one of these three people were dead, as Casey said herself "well I'm alive" so it was good enough evidence to prove a death. The other point now is we know that Casey was aware of the death long before the hair was tested. The hair was found in the car and the car was in Casey's possession all 31 days..seems strong to me

I agree. I can't think of a reason to duct tape a dead person. And liquids or fluids don't just come out of the mouth and nose. As far as we know the tape was only around her head. I think it was to keep her quiet while she was left alone in the trunk or wherever. jmo

Did the SA enter that in court today? I did not hear it and I was waiting for it. tia

Anyone know if DNA experts are on the witness list?

Or, where is the witness list now, updated, retracted, just current?

Me, too!

Also, according to Jean Casarez, the female juror who didn't like to judge people had not taken a single note until she was watching the "sweet" jail tape (between GA and ICA, I believe) where ICA seemed all concerned about her family, etc. At that point, according to Jean Casarex, the lady juror got her notebook out and wrote, and wrote, and wrote. :banghead:

Friday, please don't take what Jean C. has to say, to heart...she has had a recent defense brain transplant and is no longer speaking out of her mouth...can't write it because of TOS, but I'm sure you can figure out where she is speaking out of lately...:floorlaugh:

Seriously, Jean C. has made numerous mistakes and incorrect court observations about this case and trial, that I have to wonder if we are watching the same trial. *rolleyes*

The other thread closed so I am repeating here. Judge Perry makes me smile. :)

In a movie remake of the trial, what actor do you think would be a good HHJP?

I think he could play himself very well, but of course he'd refuse because it would diminish the esteem he's earned as a judge.

I'm also in the 'duct taped while alive' camp. One of my theories is ICA chloroformed Caylee to either put her to sleep or make her be quiet, but it didn't last very long, and so she put the duct tape on her in a rage.

Yes - the one in the trunk had the band - the hair(s) on the tape did not

As USARDOG said in the thread - tape went on when she was alive - and that's M U R D E R 1

I'm confused. How does this work?:

Wouldn't the hair on the head get deathbands as well because as it stays on the head after death, it would show that kind of decomposition?

Or, did it get yanked out by the duct tape pre-mortem? Is that what they are trying to say? Confusing.

Did any of the hair on the skull have death banding and was any of it compared to the one found in the trunk?

Even though this is the SIDEBAR thread and rules are more relaxed, discussion of the trial and evidence is really getting lost in this thread........please be respectful of those who want to discuss the case. Thank you! :)
