Why did Jodi take photos of such an insignificant scrape/burn that happened at work two days before she murdered Travis?

Could that be used against her as evidence of premeditation? Like she wanted to make sure that if she was injured during her attack that she had proof that she was injured before...

My other thought was, why would she take pictures of such an insignificant scrape, but never took any pictures of injuries from Travis' alleged abuse...

I don't believe any photo "evidence" Jodi has presented to refute JM's theory of events is authentic.

Everyone knows that the time and date stamp on a digital camera can be manipulated--therefore we see the DT presenting "photographic evidence" after JM argues something:

--Photo of JA w/sister "proving" she had brown hair before the trip
--Second photo of brown hair w/black dog
--Photo of injury to RIGHT hand

All very convenient pieces of evidence. The defense thinks we are all too stupid to know that you can set the time and date stamp to any date you want.

And why would Jodi take a picture of a finger injury at "work?" It's a minor cut--not like a major injury like a broken hand. I can see maybe taking a pic of a cast you just got on & relating the story of how it happened, but to memorialize a cut from glassware at a bar/restaurant with a mundane story about "margarita glasses" is ABSURD.

I'd like to share your optimism. But imo, the DV experts arew not going to give a comprehensive list of what an abuse surviver looks like.

Instead, Nurmi is going to say something like: " When you hear the defendant testifying that Travis Alexander was a wonderful and generous person, does that surprise you? "

DV expert: No, not at all. That is consistent with the traits of my clients.

Nurmi: When you learned that the defendant told several versions of the victims death, did that surprise you?

DV expert: No, because victims of abuse routinely lie about their lives as a defense mechanism.

We will hear hours of nonsense much like this, imo.

You are spot on my dear. The expert doesn't even have to have met JA. Nurmi can just throw examples such as "do domestic violence victims often do anything to apease their abusers?". "Do domestic violence victims get 'scrambled brain' when being yelled at by their abuser?" etc.

We've heard all the key words during direct. If all of us can figure this out I am sure Juan was on to this years ago when this defence first sprouted.

A note about Jodi's "expert DV witnesses:"

Juan questioned Jodi on the stand about the LIES she made up when she was interviewed by her own experts.

That, to me, clearly shows that the Battered Woman Defense is not going to work for her--why would a victim lie to their own expert? Only someone who is attempting to manipulate and deceive--and that's Jodi in a nutshell.

Thank you so much for so many notes from yesterday Katie, and for sharing them here.

You are a sweetheart for being so thoughtful about Beth and for including ws in your gift giving. you have proven to be the same with Travis' family. I can't imagine what it must mean to them to have people like you ,and others here, giving up your time to endure this burden with them. You all are a special class of folks.

Is Dv expert that is slated to testify the same as the one we saw the recommendation to the court from about the fake letters?

If it is, then it would seem that they would have to admit to either lying about computer pics or admit incompetence for getting that wrong.

It wasn't read but it was on the screen underneath what was being read...during the last part today of her journal being read about the LOA and suicide stuff.

Cuz there are 10000 screens all over the place we could all see it plain as day and at least 3 of us wrote it down as we talked briefly in the hall after court. I couldn't stay and happy hour it as I had to rush back to work but it was a BOMBSHELL I think just because we all noted it.

Here it is.

Is there somewhere to contribute? Was there a collection basket, lol? Somehow, I missed this!

You know there wasn't and to me that's kind of complicated..it was only 40 bucks and I had the cash. I just thought it would be nice to put everyone's name on it to give her. I also gave her a card from WS and a separate card from me. So it's all good.

If anyone out there feels a desire to contribute to this I'd prefer you contribute to the Travis Alexander family fund. They need the $ more than me.

Thank you! :seeya:

Something is really hinky about those photos to me.

Including the question why did they not just bring them up in the direct to support her finger injuring assertions?

Something's not right here.

It reminds me of the Michael Peterson trial where the mysterious "alleged murder weapon" the blowpoke aka fauxpoke , showed up in the defendant's garage the last day of the DT CIC. It was BS and planted there.

But this just feels off to me. Contrived.

Thank you. Just so you know there is Jake Orbin and I just found out two other murder victims' families attending this trial in solidarity with Travis' family. Jake describes it like the movie "Third Encounter of the Third Kind" as we all kind of just went. None of us knew anyone else was going. People were just drawn to show up to support this family and support Lady Justice in this trial.

Katiecoolady, thank you for transcribing your notes for us! Thank you for your time and efforts. Thank you for being in court to support Travis' family. Thank you for choosing a lovely gift for Beth.

My question for you is: does Nurmi ever look at the jury? Does he realize he's boring them to tears?

I think his 9 days of direct and I-don't-know-how-many-days of re-direct have over-exposed his client? The jury has seen many versions of Jodi over the 15 days she has been on the stand. Due to the number of notes they are taking and their obvious attentiveness, I hope and pray they already have her number.

This is in great contrast to a certain other jury I shall not deign to name.

I do see him at times looking at the jury from the defense table (not as much as Willmott and def not as much as the mitigation specialist who really looks at them).

I don't see him address them at all when he's up speaking.

I have wondered, with all the note taking if her mother (w/help) was going to write one. Might get same reaction as any for FCA would.:furious:

I have wondered the same. And I wondered about the juror "Ponytail" yesterday as she suddenly was writing TONS of notes even when nothing was going on in court. Maybe she was writing her Christmas letter to Santa Claus. Or to the Easter Bunny.

Katie,
Thank you because I wanted to contribute too. I can contribute to the family. So thank you!

Reminder I spoke with Tanisha yesterday and she endorsed this paypal account as accurate for funds to donate to the family:

I didn't know time and date stamp could be manipulated. I am sure JM can bring back his expert to testify to that on rebuttal.

I have a question about the photos she took of those minor cuts. Will JM get to re-cross her on that as I believe it was new evidence? Why on earth would she take pictures of something as minor as those injuries but not document any of the injuries she alleges that Travis caused? I know it's because she didn't have any, but I think it would be helpful to point out that she took pics of those small cuts and didn't take one of her alleged bruises or "broken finger".

You're an angel!

Travis family friend today asked me if I was writing a book. I'm glad she asked me (so I could clarify) but it gave me a little feeling of heartbreak if people were wondering that about my furious note taking. She has a friend who lurks here who told her about me (shout out to you btw) so I explained where my notes were going and that I was also doing it to keep from blowing my stack in court.

I would never, EVER take advantage of this family by doing anything like that. My participation is just what you see it is. No other agenda whatsoever. In fact I'm wondering what to do with all my journals

Katie,
Surely many books will be written on this case. Actually I had hoped you'd write one, because you, unlike, say, BC, are there because you sincerely care. It needn't be exploitative--depends entirely on how it's done. And if it makes you feel better you could share some of the proceeds with families of real victims. If you lack the time, perhaps just your notes as they are, with some editing, could be worth publishing. JMO.
Anyhow, thanks so much for your reporting.

Just curious as to how many actual in-the-courtroom observers post their observations to these threads? Really, I only see katiecoolady's notes...am I just not seeing others?
