I'm listening to Thursday's afternoon with Samuels, and I noticed that he DID tell the truth to Juan in one answer: and I quote,

Juan: "And the answer to that was, well, the answers would have been the same, right?"

Samuels: "Yes"

Juan: "and the answers would have been the same because, you said it didn't MATTER, what the triggering event was, that's what you said right?"

Samuels: "That's correct. In my opinion, in this case, it didn't matter."

Juan: "So what your'e saying is, the event whether it was HER killing, or, um, the two other individuals coming in, that didn't matter, right?"

Samuels: "For the purposes of my scoring, using the test to simply confirm my hypothesis which was made previously, uh it didn't matter to me."

In my opinion he just admitted to fabricating a diagnoses for his purposes.

That was my exact impression. JM will continue to make mincemeat of him on Monday. Speaking of...I'm pretty sure I just made the Thanksgiving dinner on topic. :D

HOLY MOLY, look at that beautiful crust!!!!!

What is Jodi's view of Travis' Family and her own? Can they have direct eye contact? Is Jodi allowed to have any contact with her Family?

A MUCH better addiction! And if you donated to the family, that money is so much better spent that at a casino, where it could have been lost.

I hear ya'. Our casino visits are for entertainment and generally end up in "donating". It was nice to know these donations would go to a good cause. I don't mean to imply the trial is entertainment, but it has definately given us topics of conversation.

Helping this family has become important to us. We've been in situations where we've needed a little help ourselves. It's nice to be able to repay the kindness others have shown us. Life is good.

I agree. I think there may be a tiny bit of truth in her "body slam" story. I think it went like this though:

1) She stabs him in the heart while he's in the shower and she keeps stabbing him. This is where I think he got the defensive wounds on his hands.

2) He pushes his way out of the shower, knocking her to the ground.

3) He staggers to the sink and is coughing up blood. The ME said he'd be losing blood very quickly from the stab to the heart.

4) She gets up and starts stabbing him in the back of the head & neck. He is lightheaded by this point from losing so much blood, so he can't fight her.

5) He tries to get away from her by going down the hall and she keeps stabbing him in the back. (I think he may have been crawling at this point.)

6) He collapses and we know the rest. :(

I can't wait to hear the jury deliver a GUILTY verdict!!! This woman is pure evil. :furious:

I respectfully disagree.

I believe she incorporated this 'body slam' jargon from the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) events she watched at Travis' house every Wednesday night with HIS friends.

I say this because it's just not a common or widely used term for a female to use when explaining a man throwing her to the ground. This runs hand in hand to her explanation of 'line backer'.
I mean, really??
Here again she's taking a term identifiable to Travis' life (watching football) then glorifying it against him in her labyrinth of lies.

Please let the jury see through all this. Please!!! And please let them see she constantly uses catch phrases and buzz words in her statements over and over again.
She's so rehearsed, beyond delusional and deeply full of untruths that she's in her own sub-species!

You spent HOURS looking for my posts from yesterday? Word. That's a lot of searching.

I think other posters made a great suggestion...if you're looking for my posts just click on my name and scroll back and it will be pretty obvious where my courtroom observations are. That should take mere minutes instead of hours.

I will add that this thread has observations AND comments/ questions about those observations. As much as there were a few off topic posts like about turkey, for the most part it's been discussion about the actual observations. By nature this thread will involve poster's observations then discussion on those observations. If someone wants an actual "observations only" thread I suggest they ask the moderators for the permission to create that (the mods are also swamped with duties). Then find the observations as they come in and copy them to a thread that has no talk.

But for now, this thread I think will continue to be observations plus conversation about the observations.

Sorry if that sounds "harsh" but, to me, what's gotten a bit "much" is the expectation of what's entitled when all of this we are serving up for FREE at our own expense, time, energy and in my case a small case of burnout. All the "spanking" on this thread is it's own off topic conversation going on.

My posts are very easy to find and frankly shouldn't take "hours" (if anyone wants to compare hours invested here, I'm all in--how about PASA's "hours" sitting in line to even get in the courtroom then still taking time away from her husband to come here and post). Something is not right if that's what is happening. I posted last night I would be posting today. And I did this morning in my usual style of observer posting. Ok now I need to go to bed as I've given this topic way too much energy as it is.

I'll take an off topic turkey dinner (with champagne) over this. :offtobed:

(note: other court observers are there and don't even post in here...I wonder why...)

Katie what others have tried to say is there is no EXPECTATION of you. We are filled with anticipation...remember the ketchup commercial? LOL..thinkin was Carly Simon singing the song.

Anyway, we are filled with anticipation for anyone who will share observations. None of us feel you owe us anything. So that was a great compliment to you and other observers that they came here looking for your comments. No demands are being made.

The posters were talking to those of us who get off topic. And there are a lot of us who do that. We appreciate your energy and what you are doing but please appreciate that the posters were asking for this thread to just be observations from court observers and they are only trying to appreciate your posts. And yes from now on we can look up your name to see your posts, but other observers like Pasa, etc post here too. We want to see all posts from observers.

And if someone is new to WS, they may not even realize they can look up just your posts by name. Guess they do now.

Keeping it real...just sayin...

I'm finally coming out of lurkdom to post. This is such an amazing website! What this creature did to Travis just defies words. It's been so interesting to see everyone's insight and comments.

A special shout out to our court observers! Y'all rock! Thank you so much for taking the time to post your observations!

One quick question - I keep seeing two acronyms being used on this website that I am unfamiliar with - BBM and MOO. What do they stand for?

Someone is trying to put together a search team to locate the gun...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CskWKO3gW2E

I've posted on this thread because of the number of locals here.

This case has had more twists and turns...finding the gun would be the icing on the cake!

I've been thinking she stopped at the one campground on rte 93, it's in one of his target areas. I can't reach him because I don't have a YouTube account. I posted a map of the Arizona State parks in the area on MDS this morning.
I have to go now, the g-kid wants to use the computer.

It's such a *advertiser censored*-n-bull thesis that a 5-year old sees through it.

How can someone coming after you who just exclaimed 'kill you *advertiser censored*ing *****' be LESS traumatic than 'defending' yourself?
Why is it, her brain didn't fade to black at that point?

Her entire story, from picking up the rental car to returning it ---doesn't flow due to the many synthetic holes!

It's full of far too many coincidences at the most opportune moments that...the no one could give her much credence without literally bending over backwards to do so.

Any juror giving her a millimeter of consideration will be thorough disappointment as a fellow human being.

I'm not afraid of LaViolette--you can't diagnose the abuse excuse if your client is a pathological liar. End of story.

BBM
Actually that's a darn good point! Honestly (sorry may be TMI) I only do major landscape if I'm pretty sure someone's checking out my yard to speak.. Then add to fact I think waxed so that's way more $$ than a razor & Barbisol ya know?

Why that alone should prove premeditation!
Jmo

:gasp: :floorlaugh: Ya got that one right! Premeditation list needs to have major landscaping of the front AND backyard added. (I am definately stealing that one from you!) :blushing:

I'm so impulsive. Thank you for checking the pins out and saving me from making a further fool of myself.

From eBay: "Vintage Republican Elephant logo pins. We have no idea what these were used for, since they have no clasp - just the pin shaft almost like a thumb tac and to say these pins are small would be an understatement! They measure just 3/8" wide. This is a set of three. Enjoy!"

Did you notice that these pins have no clasps? Have you completed the transaction?

I'm just sayin' ...

Don't be embarrassed. That was a very kind thought!!!

Welcome Abe - Redid my response to show you.

BBM - When you quote someone's post but want to address a particular part of it, you BOLD that section so BBM is Bolded By Me.

MOO is My Own Opinion. When you don't have a link for what you're stating, it's just your opinion.

Thank you for saying that. I've also seen her go over issues with counsel while everyone else goes to lunch, break, or home for the evening.

The county is financially stressed and we have a lot of defendants to prosecute.

I'm seriously considering going to Juan's next trial. The victim was an police officer who was shot on a routine traffic stop by some tweaker.
The officer was only 24.

Was that the officer shooting on west side at apts where kid thought it was probation after him?? What's sad is we have so many officer shootings in valley!!

Remember when things were so much more like an overgrown small town?? When parents could drop kids off at Big Surf for the day & most excitement on weekends was kids cruising the circle at Metro Center?

I TOTALLY agree...from the beginning I have also thought that when JA'S mom laughs during court that she is not being disrespectful... I think that she is thinking:

"boy, her rebellious/hateful spirit finally caught up with her"

I really think her Mom thinks it was only a matter of time before Jodi's snotty behavior got the best of her ...at least this is what I would LIKE to think since I can't imagine (even as a mother) condoning that kind of sociopath behavior...from Jodi's testimony it sounds like she was a hard child to raise... (Can you imagine being dealt the sociopath child card?! Lol!)

Her Mom is doing what any other normal mom would do... loving her child unconditionally wether they are good or bad... Actually, if she wasn't there I would think less of her..

I can't imagine being in her shoes, I bet she's lost a lot of friends because of this...and during a time when she needs her friends most!

Could be .... but she was the intermediary attempting to sell the bogus TA letters to the National Enquirer about a month ago.

I don't understand how one becomes a reputable 'expert' in anything if they've ever covered (lied) under oath..especially for a murderer...
How can she be highly regarded if she does this?!

I get that defense attorney's define success by racking up acquitted clients. (Proclaiming all were wrongly accused.. i.e. Jose Baez)

But shouldn't a DV expert be gravely concerned about her reputation when testifying for someone perpetrating violence, when there are pictures? Of double digit stab wounds to the back of his torso & back of his head? Jeez!!

ALL of the REAL women I've seen interviewed (and, granting there are probably those I have not seen that are LaViolette fans) fighting against domestic violence are appalled at the damage this claim does for REAL victims. What does that say for LaViolette?

What is JAN? Jodi Arias Network aka HLN???

Would love to JM crossing AV on youtube. Has Anyone been able to find any other televised trials of JM online or clips? Other than the Wendi Andriano case on snapped, id love to see him in action on another case.

In the past few weeks I have seen 2 old AZ cases with Martinez on 48 Hours on ID channel.
