Anyone feel kinda sorry for VW? I mean she doesn’t seem to have a large network of friends. She isn’t conventionally attractive. She never found love other than her drug-addicted ex. I read somewhere recently (can’t remember where) that she really didn’t speak a whole lot. What did that big lunk say to her that made her feel like this was what she wanted to do with the rest of her life? Did he tell her she was pretty? Did he make her feel noticed? I dunno. It makes me sad for her. I want to read the book already. When are they taking pre-orders? Lol.

Do you think that they're still moving or do you think that they're just holed up somewhere waiting for time to pass? From the videos that Brian Entin posted, it seems like the police have no clue.
The story's so big by now we would have more information about sightings if they were on the run, right?
IMO I tend to agree with the second option. With the pandemic and all it's so easy to get groceries and stuff delivered without interacting with anyone, though hardly believe that scenario would last long. This case is so fascinating, but maybe that's because I'm using it to procrastinate studying for exams.

I personally believe they are holed up somewhere in a carefully preplanned location/hideout. And as long as heat doesn't get too much on that front, I think they will stay where they are for a while, then make another likely preplanned move. I think VW planned this out very meticulously for a long time, and with her many years of experience in LE, she certainly has a good leg up on what I would refer to as "the average bear' with this sort of thing.

In a way, yes I kinda do. Though if it needs to be said, of course I don't think that justifies her dangerous actions.

Tbh I don't think she's especially unattractive for a woman in her fifties and she could certainly fix herself up more if she wanted. But a jail would be a depressing work environment and then she doesn't seem to have had much else in her life.

But man, it was her last day before retirement. Then she'd have had plenty of time to re-invent her life and plenty of money to do it with. It's just a shame all the way around. So unnecessary.

Same. Unless he goes off book and start acting violent or just gets bored and impatient to go enact revenge. Then things might fall apart before the police ever close in on them.

- Anything been said about when she checked in?
-Other stories describe her house (and therefore her mamas house where she was supposedly living for 5 weeks which was right by VWs now sold house) as 18 miles from the jail. I assume this hotel is quite close to the jail as Florence is a small town?
-I think VW wasn’t telling her mama much. Not that she was planning to retire, not that she was staying at a hotel. Definitely someone who plays her cards pretty close and keeps her plans secret.

Late to the party, but in rural areas within about an hours drive from a city or a major employer, there are informal parking places beside highways -- where carpool riders gather. A car could be parked in this type of place for a week without attracting much attention.

That is going to be difficult for them because days ago LE said they already notified Canadian border officials (as well as Mexican). How will they get across? What ID will they use?

They wouldn't need ID, necessarily. They can cross the same way illegals cross back to Mexico--basically the way they came. Some go back and forth at will, to take care of family members back home, tend their little homestead, whatever. Then come back and resume their jobs, or look for work elsewhere.

I feel sorry for anyone who becomes broken and lives into the worst version of themselves. Because of the potential lost. But not sorry enough to not want to see their butts in jail for the rest of their lives.

Haven’t heard when she checked in but heard she checked in one day earlier in the week for a night too, seemingly to test the escape plan.

Hotel is closer to the jail than home, yes.

The DA described her as someone who didn’t say a lot, so I think you’re right. Her mom and MIL probably didn’t know anything. She wouldn’t have wanted to worry them or to have them talk her out of it or turn her in.

I think it’s possible they’re scanning all kinds of things being said about them online and on TV because they want a heads up if LE starts to catch up to their trail. This is also why LE doesn’t always release all the info they have. Because they don’t want to tip off the fugitives that they’re closing in on them.

Has there been any media or news from people that knew her from outside of her work life other than mom and ex husband? I don't believe I have come across anything outside of her work life or colleagues few words.

What did she do outside of work?? Such as hobbies, socialising, any special interests, etc...it's all very quiet on that front or so it seems to me at least.
