Heres a wild loose theory. Someone running drugs from South Australia to the New South Wales Coast around the Kew area etc.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-09-16/wa-high-court-almost-doubles-drug-sentence/6781548

Things got hot due to the number of pedo busts so dump the body interstate.

Burying the body is final. Having a body wrapped in a quilt means that it can be shifted away from police or not knowing where to bury it in case it is discovered. The perpetrator may have even felt some empathy with the child or worse, some sort of girlfriend relationship love and remorse.

I think the location is purely coincidental. It has been mentioned the guy was mentally ill, and had been making a number of phone calls in which he said he was going to kill people. Obviously someone reported those calls to the police.

Here is the press conference from the assistant commissioner that covers it all.

I doubt it is linked in any way to Angel. But you never know.

Crikies, if that is indicative of the area. Quite a few out buildings. How did police end up in there any rate? What was the police motive to go there?

Mentally ill in a back block country region. Phone calls would have attracted attention by police. You never know. Makaras call is he was probably mentally ill.

Yeah, I admit it is probably just a coincidence. But it just grabbed my attention because of the proximity to where Angel was discovered. Not a highly populated area, so my hinky meter went off lol

I'm not sure whether other people called police, or he called police himself, but there were concerns for his health. Then when police got there, he raced back inside and started firing.
It's a creepy looking photo (to my eyes anyway). Wish I could see the other walls of the house, because I notice the back of the house has no windows or door. (or possibly there is a door there, pic isn't clear enough). Plus all the buildings and junk, reminds me of a place that would be quite at "home" on a crime show.

I have heard a whisper that the SES has been called to do a ground search at Tailem Bend. No exact location known, just Tailem bend. Interesting!

Update - apparently he was making threatening phone calls to other people, which is why the police attended, and he wasn't inside the house during the shooting.
Details have changed since I read the original breaking news story.

Above all, I noticed from your link this re possible connection to "Angel":

“Council acknowledges that the community has had more than its fair share of grief with an increase of suicides in recent months,” he said.

A local man, Sam, who lived on Mallee Hwy, said the dead man was a “nice”, “quiet gentleman” who was devoted to his mother until she passed away a couple of years ago.
“He was a bit reclusive, maybe he needed someone to talk to,” he said.
“He would say hello at the supermarket...I think he went to church on weekends.
“He was mostly looking after his cows and sheep.”
Sam said the man had previously been in conflict with others in the community and RSPCA for not shearing his sheep every year.
He said he “possibly” threatened others during these arguments.

With all the reports of suicide by police, it appears the odds change day by day of ever knowing ever what happened to ANGEL. People commit suicide after paranoia sets in that police will lob flash bangs in the window at any time. The anxiety is too much for them.

If this guy was already paranoid, and it appears he may have had auditory hallucinations, it was all down hill from there. Voices may have said his mates were going to dob him in for something to the police.

He obviously had suspicions so he rang the people who may know something and threatened to kill them. As soon as he pulled a weapon he was a risk to others straight away. That's in inevitable shot at the body mass AKA chest. He manifested his suspicions into reality; unfortunately.

I don't think the siege guy is involved. He just doesn't seem the sort to carry a secret this big for long. This case reminds me more of the unsolved murder of Martin Meffert... a secret kept for years in a small town. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2013-12-06/murder-probe-after-remains-at-house-identified/5139448

Who shot his rifle repeatedly at police after not listening to STAR squad. Lost it.

Man dies because RSPCA says shear your sheep. That ended well. :notgood:

Not that it has any relevance....but I am pretty sure I can link that Crab is male....

Sadly I feel Angels case will never be resolved... and a murderer will walk away free.....yup....feeling fairly despondent on this one!!!

I'm wondering if the culprit is now dead. Natural or not.
