I Found this to be a bit of a sad read about CCTV Footage in Melbourne. Better CCTV would have made it so much easier to trace the last movements of Jill. I realise people want privacy and all that, but if it saves lives or catches criminals then it's all worthwhile imo.

We dont need publicly funded cameras everywhere but in places known for trouble, they are a good thing indeed. Arguing they are less effective than 'environmental design' in stopping crime is plainly moronic and while the search goes on for Jill Meagher, aided by CCTV vision, deeply offensive.
