5 months extra and no changes to parole eligibility - seriously ?!..
Repeat offender and she's telling them he had a finger up her anus. God knows what else he did to her that she was too shy to tell them in details. I also thought they were supposed to sentence him harder due to the child being under 12.... ?!..

'GOLD Coast businessman John Chardon has been sentenced to five months in jail for indecently touching a seven-year-old girl.

Chardon is already serving a six-year sentence for rape.

The sentence came after a trial ended in Southport last week and he was found not guilty of three other child sex offences, but guilty of one charge of indecent treatment of a child .'

Happy New Year! - hopefully 2017 will be the year where we see justice for Novy. Please also let us see her brought home to rest so she can be honoured by her kids and family members. A & C are growing up quickly now - they need answers!
 
ACCUSED Gold Coast murderers whose victim’s bodies have never been found may be blocked getting parole under new ‘no body, no parole’ laws introduced into Queensland parliament today.

The new laws could affect those accused of the never-solved Gold Coast murders of Novy Chardon, Greg Dufty and Linda Sidon.


John Chardon, accused of murdering his wife Novy when she disappeared on February 6, 2013, Lionel Patea, charged with the murder of local father Greg Dufty, and Daniel Heazlewood, accused of murdering his mother Linda Sidon in 2009, could all be impacted by the new laws.

Convicted conman Peter Foster has been ordered to give evidence in the case against accused Gold Coast wife-killer John Chardon.

Foster made explosive claims that Chardon confessed to shooting his wife Novy in the back because she planned to file for divorce.

A Brisbane magistrate today made the direction ahead of a committal hearing in May.
 
This article says that Peter Foster is going to refuse to give evidence at the committal hearing, despite being ordered to do so. I guess that will mean contempt of court for him.


NOTORIOUS conman Peter Foster will refuse to give evidence in a major upcoming murder committal hearing over an ongoing wrangle with Queensland police.

Foster, 55, is being held in the Gosford Correctional Centre, north of Sydney, on multimillion-dollar fraud charges.

A police brief of evidence against him in relation to the fraud charges has yet to be presented to his lawyers.

Here is an article about a source saying Foster will not give evidence, even if he is brought to the courthouse and put in the witness box.



Last month, a Brisbane magistrate ordered Foster to give evidence at Chardon’s committal hearing in May this year.

But sources said Foster will refuse to give any evidence, even if he is physically brought before a Brisbane Magistrates Court and placed in the witness box.

Foster’s potential actions may place the committal and any possible future trial stemming from the committal in jeopardy. Legal sources said Foster was an important witness in the Chardon case.

Foster’s refusal has supposedly stemmed from him being exposed in the media as a “jail snitch”, an action he claims has placed his and his family’s lives in jeopardy in the past 18-months.

His other gripe is an ongoing attempt to secure a “letter of support” from the Queensland police in relation to the Chardon matter and Foster’s alleged involvement in the case. Police initially issued such a letter to Foster and his lawyers in relation to another court matter, acknowledging his co-operation with Queensland detectives in an investigation, but have refused to supply an updated letter which may assist in Foster’s application for bail in NSW.

The reports said Foster had offered police information against Chardon when they spent time in a Brisbane jail together in 2015. At the timer, Foster was imprisoned in Wolston Correctional Centre over a prior slimming scam.

“More graphically … Foster made a note that Chardon had told him that he shot the missing person in the back of the head with a .22 because it doesn’t leave an exit wound (and) he made a silencer for the gun out of a plastic bottle with … metal parts.”

“Mr Foster states that as a consequence of his assistance he was exposed as a witness by the media in the Chardon matter,” Fisher wrote. “Mr Foster has received information that the source of the leak to the press may have been a police officer.

“So, basically the police exposed me for my co-operation and I am now expected to continue that co-operation while in custody and unable to do anything whatsoever to take any precautions for my own safety or that of my family.

“If I am not granted bail from my present long detention, I cannot see how I can be expected to give evidence in the Chardon committal or any future hearings.”

"The secretive manner in which convicted conman Peter Foster recorded an alleged jailhouse conversation with accused wife killer John Chardon may be kept from the public.

Queensland Corrective Services on Thursday requested all references to the "methodology" of how Foster recorded a conversation with Chardon be suppressed during any hearing or trial, or redacted in any statements.

Mr Kimmins said in addition to Foster making statements about his conversation with Chardon, he also kept "notebooks" that they expected to receive on Thursday.

Magistrate Penelope Hay said a suppression or non-publication order would likely be dealt with on the opening day of the committal hearing on May 9."

"He believes". And his evidence is? Any of us could testify that much.

I couldn't open Gold Coast Bulletin link. There's an ABC article http://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-05-...nman-peter-foster/9741778?WT.ac=statenews_qld but it gives less new information than Sleep's summary of the GCB one.
