Any news about the ambulance? Sadly I think this is going to turn out like Noah Chamberlin but I pray I'm wrong.

It could be just there as a precaution for all of the searchers, and in case Chase is found of course. I'm seeing nothing more about it, yet anyways.

I was thinking maybe it was there for Chase. If they find him, he will be hypothermic with those low air temps as well as very dehydrated. He would need emergency care and this way they wouldn't have to wait for an ambulance to arrive.

**UPDATE: 8 p.m.**

Volunteers and rescue workers continued their search into the evening. The Winnipeg Police helicopter was also on scene into the evening, landed twice, but proceeded to take off only minutes after to continue cirlcling the area. Food is being provided to the volunteers by a couple Hutterite Colonies in the area, and donations of coffee, drinks, or snacks are welcomed by the volunteers.

I can't stop thinking about the pets just lazing around. If Chase wandered off, it seems Bingo the dog would have followed. If someone came along, the dog would have barked (most likely). Could Chase be someplace ridiculously close by all this time? It doesn't seem so at this point.
Maybe I'm assigning too much importance to the behaviour of the dog, although Mom brought it up in the article Dotr linked earlier.
I can not get past this for some reason.

Yeah, "sniffing" dogs have been working all day. Going into night number two - it's not looking good IMO.

Is it possible Chase was taken and that's why the dog was lazing around. Kind of like waiting for him to get back?
This poor child is going on his 2nd night of really cold temps. I'm not really sure he will make it.

When they live on a farm in the middle of nowhere, it is pretty typical for the dogs to just lay around when the family is outside and when farm workers - people that they know - are moving around the property. Our dogs always come outside with us and they'll just lay around while we do chores and other outside activities. They don't always follow you around like dogs that are not used to the freedom of open spaces. Our dogs will join us if we call them and say "let's go for a walk", but generally they just do their own thing while we're outside. I don't think it's strange that the dog didn't follow him if he wandered off. However, if a stranger walked onto the property it probably wouldn't have reacted and alerted the family. IMO

I hate to say it but if the boy has just wondered off and is exposed since he wondered off Iam afraid it is allready to late ..temp has been dipping well below freezing the last few nights and that included a rainy/snow fall ..
