Casey's Behavior Toward Parents and Vice-Versa In Court Apperances

I am sure they will publish all their letters in their book they are writing!

Do they really think anyone will pay money to read more of their lies? It's all been said and all been spread all over the net. Note to self: Be sure and tell family yes I am completely inthralled with this case. No I do not want any book that happens to be published on this crime. I will not support anyone who makes money on this baby's death.

And, can they be believed? About anything?

That would be 185%, NO!

To get back to the courtroom behavior, in the snapshots of the last court appearance, I wonder what CA was laughing about behind her hand?
Something that the tall bald guy sitting next to her said? And who is he? And in another snapshot she is acting positively giddy, almost vampish. Hardly appropriate court behavior of a mother of an accused murderess. And afterward she was overly happy about seeing KC even though she hadn't even been acknowledged by her. Carryover from the amusing little incident in court?
KC learned all she needed to know about inappropriate behavior from her mom.

I think AL has her hands full - not only is she trying to rein in a sociopath, but she has to somehow keep JB in check as well. If I bought anyone's book on the case, it would be hers! LOL!

Interesting read (starting on page 3) concerning family and the accused-especially since AL now wants G&C to start writing and visiting KC I think we're going to see, in the upcoming year, a PR campaign to humanize and explain KC's behavior! Can AL and the A's and KC pull this off? I think not-but I can't wait to see em try!!
It's time for AL to

If they begin visiting Casey again, the A's will need a word-for-word script to stick to. There's no way the defense will trust them to just visit her without a written script - there's too much potential for them to say the wrong thing. I kinda wish the visits wouldn't be recorded - who wants to listen to an uncomfortable, recited dialog?

This latest view we saw of Casey in court reeks of AL's influence. I believe Andrea had a talk with her about ditching the cheerful and happy routine. Honestly I am surprised that she wasn't told this before now, but I guess when you have a lawyer like Jose certain minor details get missed. Casey's new look of depression may be somewhat genuine from her months in isolation and the thought that her future will take place in a state prison or worse death row. That's a scary thought for someone that loves themselves so unconditionally like Casey. At any rate it did my heart good to see the new Casey in court, I like her better unhappy and miserable.

I think that for JB, it takes all he has in him to keep himself from saying or doing something ridiculous - he has no time to devote to Casey's behavior. LOL!

Ooh, ooh! Me! Me! Me! (And hopefully a body language expert to read what all of that discomfort and dismay says about all of them!)

Maybe we could get Zanny to write it? ;-)

I'm becoming so disgusted by the OBVIOUS facts in this case and the bureaucratic spin that I find it difficult to continue to follow. These grandparents are so clearly covering up (withour repurcussion) and their daughter is so obviously guilty (given the chit load of "circumstantial"evidence) that it's all becoming a ring around the rosey of KNOWN FACTS. No one else is remotely "interesting" enough to be considered a potential killer. KC did what she did and it's mightily disgusting to think that after all this time she hasn't gone to court for her hearing and conviction.

Defending the Life-or-Death Case

You must also interview the client’s family and household.
This has several purposes:(1) to get information concerning
the facts of your client’s life; (2) to give you the opportunity to
make your own assessment of your client’s family life; (3) to
get information that may assist you in supporting a mental
health professional’s findings; (4) to get information concerning
the official investigation of the crime and the conduct of the
case by the police; and (5) to involve the family in the case.
Family members’ involvement can be key for the following
reasons:
• At a sentencing hearing, they make good witnesses.
• Their presence during trial creates an atmosphere in which
it is easier to save your client’s life.
• Family support can help make your client more selfassured
and a better witness if he needs to take the stand.
• Family support can prevent your client from engaging in
self-destructive behavior (e.g., acting out violently in
prison or court).
Before you interview your client’s family members, be
sure to have in mind some of the different possible reactions
they may have. They may mistrust you as a result of prior
experiences with lawyers they believe did not do a good job.
They may be people who see lawyers as awesome, intimidating
authority figures. They may be overly protective of your
client. They may be ashamed of your client’s behavior or feel
deeply betrayed by him. They may seem indifferent to the
whole affair. They may be suppressing their feelings about
your client and his criminal behavior, or they may be totally
immersed in them. They may be sophisticated enough to
understand exactly why you are asking these questions, or
they may have no idea why you are interviewing them. Begin
to establish a relationship with members of your client’s family
that will enable them to confide in you. Explain that what
they ordinarily would consider negative information about
your client may help him in these circumstances.

GOOD LUCK ANDREA!! YOU'RE GONNA NEED IT!!

OMG! Too funny! She left out that that's the approach when you're dealing with a "typical" family. She'll need to write a whole new chapter after she's done with this case!

And KC not doing her little high school girl flirty thing with Baez, was extremely refreshing. I agree that Lyon has told her (and him) to knock that off! KC does not seem to have the same arrogant, defiant swagger she had previously either.

In one of the earlier hearings, the mic was hot at the defense table and Baez could be clearly heard telling Casey to not fidget, to write on the piece of yellow notepad paper he was handing her, then cover it up and be careful what she wrote in case the camera's zoomed in on her. The very first day Andrea was in court, she, on the contrary told Casey "Don't do that, put that away, now please", and you see Casey folding the paper repeatdly and looking visibly miffed.

I think that is a little tiny example of what has gone on, she has come in, a grown up, and called the class to order and told her and Baez that the hamming it up, and gushing seems to come off as flipant and disrespectful and she should sit there, sober and quiet and appear heart broken and wipe the smile and smirk off her face. That is my opinion, there is a grown up at the table.

Wow, what a concept... I guess becoming a death penalty specialist comes with a price. She knows how to appear proper and mature in front of the judge. And KC listened to her too, that is amazing.

It's nice to know she also seems friendly and pleasant, while lil JB blabs it up with the paps after court. She didn't even flinch when he said "Who you gonna believe me or your own eyes? (Thanks for the video magic-cat)

JB does it again. :footinmouth: http://www.wftv.com/video/20494617/index.html

He is the Producer for the Today Show - Jim Lichtenstein
He was the Booking Producer on the Dateline NBC show - "When Caylee Vanished" Dec. 12, 2008
Lichtenstein and reporter Kerry Sanders (Today show) come into town each time there is a Hearing....
I thought Cindy acted like she was on a high school date and got close up seats to a good baseball game, and had the cool stud sitting next to her. Disgusting behavior. She was giggling at his jokes.

A quote from Lichtenstein's website:
"One successful appearance on a talk show can change the lives and fortunes of these guests. ....we have former Talk Show producers on staff who will teach you how to be a great guest. Someone who will get called back on shows again and again."

Eunice, she CAN'T having anything on them that's worse than baby murder.

Though, I DO think she's prolly the family expert on pushing buttons.

IMHO, she's doing it because she's a control freak. And, because she's a sociopath, she's better at it than her control-freak mother. No emotions to get in the way.

You're right, she does control them in this manner by making them look for scraps of acknowledgment at the hearings. Could a deal have been struck between the As and KC as to how this would be reported and handled w/ LE? Maybe that was the "script". I don't know, I could be having a flight of fancy. The whole family acts in such a bizarre manner, that it leads my mind all sorts of places.

Does not have to be put before anyone's mail. NO ACCEPTIONS. It just can be screened by the jail's Admin....
And it can also be sent by post...
MY assessment is there is more to this then we know.

Maybe it's the same ole martyr complex JB has....Everyone is out to get him by leaking information to the media. He may claim he does not trust anyone to read the letters because they will go to the media with anything scandalous.
