At 7 seconds in this video, the reporter says:
" we've been hearing from the victim's boyfriend that the suspect in this case
may have had a fascination with violence. The fact that he kept a journal when he was in high school, along with the victim, showing an interest in raping and killing women."

I understand it to mean that he was in the same high school as the victim.

Tree, my speakers aren't working so I can't hear it!
But according to Lea's best friend (via fb), Lea didn't know him back then. Now, Cotopaxi is very, very small, so I thought that was puzzling but there is a 4 year age difference. But I heard it was another male. Now, I don't know either of these people, but I do have friends that do. So far, the things I've heard have been true. I did hear one more thing that hasn't been on the news, so I don't know if it's true or not. HTH
 
I believe if the Brother and BF stuck a gun in this guy's ear and recorded a "confession" from him and gave that to LE the rest is up to LE. I don't believe that "confession" can be used in any way in court.

It's good in getting quick results but not the reality of the courtroom.

I thought it was illegal to record a conversation if the person
Was not aware of it.

Now did they record it or was Le listening to the conversation
As a phone call
 
I am not an expert on Colorado law, but it is my understanding that in most areas you can record a conversation to which you are a party. Only one side of a phone conversation needs to consent for the recording to be legal.
 
the "confession" has me worried....how will that hold up?
 
Wouldn't LE have asked him to sign a confession as soon as they arrested him?

First-degree murder charges filed in case of missing Pueblo teen

First-degree murder charges have been field against a Westminster man in the disappearance of a Pueblo teen.

Christopher Adam Waide is also charged with sexual assault and tampering with physical evidence in the disappearance of 19-year-old Lea Chali Porter, according to the Adams County District Attorney's Office.
