I am curious if the girls were dead before she got home and maybe he placed them in their beds like they were sleeping so SW wouldn’t know right away. They had their argument and He went downstairs. Then perhaps when he saw her on the monitor it was her actually trying to wake them and in a panic/rage he then attacked her.

That was an odd amount to assign a beloved pet. Why would anyone list a pet as an asset in a bankruptcy especially valued for $5?

When you file bankruptcy you have to list all of your assets, including pets. If you don't list everything, you could lose your discharge and face criminal penalties. If a pet has a high value, the bankruptcy trustee could seize it to sell at auction to recover money to pay toward the debts. So it is smart to give pets a nominal value.

I agree. His face is drawn and skinny. His hair is falling out and he is graying very rapidly. Hard to look at these photos and think that this is the smiling person in SW's photos.

Agree. I felt like he was trying to hold emotion in, like he was trying not to cry. I can’t understand why; it might actually help him to show some emotion. Though I know his emotion would come from concern/fear for himself, not remorse.

The girls had to have been killed before she got home. OR she had to have been killed first, and then the girls second. There are no other alternatives, IMHO. If he had tried to kill the girls while Mom was still alive and in the house, she would have gone at him like a crazy mama bear, throwing stuff, trying to hurt him and get him off her babies.

And I still think the creepy photo of the doll shows some type of premeditation. Are they allowed to use SM photos in court?

This is one of those misleading media reports that drive me nuts.

At the presser yesterday the DA Michael Rourke specifically stated that the dates on the charging docs do not relate to any theories about the crimes.

The two girls were last seen on August 12, and after that they were in the company of their father, so it is purely factual to use August 12 as a possible date for their deaths. Shanann, on the other hand, was last seen on August 13, so that's why that date appears on the charge sheet.

All it means is detectives cannot yet prove when the deaths occurred.

I'm not sure that's true, because on Google satellite view the third circle is black. The satellite view would be an old picture, most likely taken before last week. Interestingly, though, there is no dirt patch to the side (where I presume SW's shallow grave was) on the satellite view, but there is on the video posted upthread.

You are right. That tank had been demolished earlier...maybe years ago. I didn't notice that in the Google photo, but could see better in the aerial. I thought it was a shadow in the Google photo. So if that tank had already been demolished, it is possible that this well site was not active and may not have even been online anymore with monitoring.

Here is a website that shows the different types of tanks...both horizontal and vertical. These children were in a vertical tank. That usually have a manway a foot or two above the ground for cleaning the bottom part of the tank when it has been emptied. There is also one at the top of the tank. The manway cover has about 8 very large bolts that sometimes can be very hard to remove if they have rusted. Bet he went out there beforehand to loosen them and make sure that he was able to loosen them.

I will say I considered some of your thoughts in the beginning... maybe he was just a nice guy who snapped. Maybe she was controlling, spending all of HIS money frivolously... sure there are women like that in the world.
But, why so much anger directed at those babies? So much so that he desecrated their bodies - callously throwing them in oil? Omg!
Did she force him to join Thrive? Force him to take Thrive? He went from a chubby guy to a muscular one. One who was having an affair. Whose taking steroids? Her or him?
Wasn’t it his idea to move over a thousand miles away from family and friends? Someone who is trying to control someone does this, not the meek and mild mannered one.
Thrive may have similar results to steroids - which may be what caused him to SNAP...maybe he can sue them after he’s put on death row???
Bottom line, by killing his wife and then placing his daughters in a tank full of crude oil - he removed the doubts I had ‘momentarily’ of who was the victim and who was the one in control. The one in control is usually the one left standing.
