I believe the Change of Venue Motion was granted and the Order signed off according to the rule of law. Per LS recap, she said that IE stated she wanted it on record that she wanted to conduct some inquiries about the location (Fremont County). However, I wouldn't be surprised if E & N file yet another motion objecting to Fremont because I think their true objective is to move outside of the 11th District (i.e., away from DA Stanley's jurisdiction).
Thanks! I agree that the Defense would like it moved out of the District.
What do you think the chances are for them to get it moved a second time?
I know Judge Lama would be the one to grant or not grant the Motion but would he be the one to decide WHERE?

Let’s just move it to La Plata County to the Redwine Judge.
I liked him and they seem to have smart jurors over there.

Have you noticed this part?!
First time I’ve noticed it. It explains how he got the Ritters to call 911 instead of doing it himself.
He told MR that he’s on the road back and wouldn’t have cell service!

An impertinence of BM to keep mentioning Suzanne's illness, when it seems to help him. As if he wanted to be pitied for her illness and his "sorrows" and his "pain". "Biiig jobs" and "painful times of HER illness" - what a hero he was! :( IMO

I don't know how I missed that, but I've never seen it before. That lie just got a little bigger.

No wonder the Ritters are scared; they are very important to this case.

I absolutely agree that there is a bicycling helmet in a pillow case on People's Exhibit 32 (http://www./wp-content/uploads/2022/01/People-Exhibits-Prelim-Hearing_Page_30.png). This makes for really interesting discussion:
1. BM had a cycling helmet with him in Broomfield;
2. It was not in the truck when it was held by police;
3. It was discovered after AM searched the area where it was found IIRC;
4. Therefore, where was it stored? When was it retrieved?
5. What else might he have stored so as not to have it on his person or in his truck?

Edited: Wanted to include top view photo of bike helmet, but I haven't quite figured out the technical details of how to do so....

Would it be possible, that the helmet is rather a white helmet for construction workers/landscapers, IF it is in his bag? Do we have seen pics of MG or BM at work? BM at the Broomfield wall had to be recognized as the boss/foreman of an officially crew, I imagine. Helmets are usual within this sort of business.

I think if he took her somewhere it could possibly have been under gravel or dirt on the trailer since that's where the dogs hit. What I took from that first episode was you better wash your tires and mudflaps or LE can use them to find the body you tried to hide. It's clear from the photos that he didn't wash the truck itself but I'm wondering if he washed the tires. Couldn't find any clear photos that show them however.

If BM was constantly listening to true crime stories, he had to know of that possible evidence. ;)

In the Order granting the motion for change of venue, the court outlined the Applicable Law, Procedural and Substantive Issues, including the following:

(1) A motion for change of venue must be accompanied by one or more affidavits setting forth the facts upon which the defendant relies or by a stipulation of the parties.

(2) Whether circumstances exist requiring, in the interest of justice, a change in the place of trial is a question to be determined by the court in its sound discretion

IMO, Judge Lama selected Fremont County as the location using his sound discretion. Canon City is Lama's resident court bench -- how do you argue his decision on the place of trial when he personally has a feel for the substantive issues?

If the defense puts forth another motion here, I think it will be just because they can and not because they know without a doubt that they can pass the legal test.

The Elizabeth Holmes trial was held recently in California despite her being much more famous that BM

The jury selection process allows the defence to screen out jurors who have followed the case.

I agree the Judge is unlikely to move the trial again.

What would Bazza do?

It remains extremely curious why Bazza, knowing what he does about his marital troubles, is jumping straight on the road so soon, instead of texting SM to find out if she is mad with him and gone off for the afternoon

At least you would think he would send her a text saying he is coming back.

Instead he starts lying to Ritter, to conceal his location and avoid making the 911 call.

It's hard to see why innocent Bazza would do this ... if he is trying to conceal his marital troubles, wouldn't he want Ritters out of it and he handles the 911 in confidence?

Didn't the Rs call him?

I don't think he ever wanted his wife reported missing.

I think he planned for the girls to get home and report their mother missing.

I imagine he believes he does.

The evidence points towards a misogynistic, domestic abuser - toxicity levels high.
They (MM1+MM2) are his figureheads, as surely Suzanne was too. So big part of his business and always useful, at least since they had become pretty teenagers with papa's preferred long hairstyle. I think, with the work of their upbringing he hadn' t to do much, busy and absent like he certainly was most of the time. IMO

And whattabout Barry's declaration and outburst during adult time with Suzanne -- I want to marry you and have/make babies!!!???? Wth

Unless he was talking to "young Suzanne", who was he talking to or thinking of when he said that?!!!

Suzanne and Barry were married a long time -- Suzanne said he was boring or disinteresting. Unsatisfying, as it were. He had to look up, um, how to be, um, satisfying.

I'm pretty sure they had a fixed repertoire as most long-time couples do. If Suzanne noted it, it was odd enough, new enough, and outside the repertoire.

It's curious.

I'm missing context, but perhaps he was half asleep, mistaking her for someone other (young, able to conceive). Cheaters do so some times, I remember experiences .... :(

Agreed but I am brainstorming from the point of view of what innocent Bazza would do, knowing what he does about the state of his marriage. The obvious conclusions at that time are SM has gone off biking, and/or is off with her affair partner IMO.

So wouldn't he want the neighbours to get out of his business?

They’re not known for neatness. I had chipmunks at my old house. They were so cute and friendly and I even named a few of them. I can’t imagine anyone finding it entertaining to arbitrarily go around shooting them just because they’re there. I really despise Barry.
He should have stayed in Indiana perhaps. ;)

This breakfast in bed detail bothers me.

5/9.

I seriously doubt it happened. And I know Barry inserted the detail when he was trying to paint a picture of a happy marriage. I'm surprised he didn't include a bubble bath and rose petals but maybe he didn't get a chance to Google that.

But it made me wonder whether/when/if he ever did that. And the answer that came to me is of course he did.

But never when it was just him and Suzanne home and only when there was an audience, even if a young one.

I think he played the part of the perfect husband when others were watching (which is precisely why his inner circle and some outer circle folks struggle to think he'd be capable of murder) and IMO saved some of his worst treatment for behind closed doors, when they were alone, just the two of them. Hence Suzanne's fear, as reported to SO, her sister, hee 50 Reasons.

It's some of the worst kind of abuse to get breakfast in bed from the same man whose hand made contact with her face. It messes with the psyche.

JMO
Maybe, cute girls in Salida like to have breakfast in bed, so his story didn't have to be invented by BM.

Wasn't Wednesday the night that Suzanne and Barry were out walking and encountered a housekeeper dumping trash from a rental? I did not think there was anything in question on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday about who was where doing what.
BM said, what he was doing on Wednesday evening, and a cleaning lady confirmed so-to-say. But IF it wasn't Suzanne at all, who met the cleaning lady at the dumpster, but another female with long hair, slim, same age, accompanied by BM?
Idk, what to believe atm.
