I can only speak as a restaurant owner. First of all, with Omicron, our sales are down 50%. People are scared. Totally get it. Me too.
Secondly, we are in California with many, many rules and regulations.
There is NO way I have a spare employee to police our (few) incoming customers to see if they're vaccinated or not.
I'm down to 50% of my normal staff as it is. I consider us fortunate to still have them! Other restaurants in our town are crumbling.
Never mind the whole of California. It's a bloodbath for small businesses.
I have no answers. I am just watching as Covid destroys lives, businesses and communities.
I think, our State will end up very wounded after this virus and the decisions those in charge mandated. Absolutely, just my opinion.

Turns out it depends on where in CA you are. We still have guidelines in place in Los Angeles County.
"Under the LA County public health order, fans ages 5 and over must provide proof of either COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result taken within 48 hours of gameday, with a matching photo ID."
BUT:
The 49er's up in the Bay Area aren't requiring proof of vaccination but are requiring fans who are unvaccinated to wear a mask. How they are enforcing that??? Got me!
