Not sure if it is ok to start, but I think it would be interesting to have a thread to discuss the jury. :waitasec:

There are so many intelligent, experienced people here, and I would love to see what folks think about the people that each side will be looking for.

As for me, I just don't know. I would think grandparents would be bad for the defense, good for prosecution. Young mothers or fathers would be bad. Single people, married people, educated, uneducated - ALL BAD for defense, but good for prosecution. :dunno:

Defense : single men with no kids .

Prosecution : anyone else with common sense

MHO

So when does Jury selection begin? Does that start before the trial begins or in May at the start of the trial ?

Many Thanks

Charleyann

Jury selection begins May 9th. Trial is scheduled to begin one week later - opening statements on May 16th.

34 Days To Go!

Just over a month ... and there is so much left to do, not to mention the Frye hearings...

Pip,

This is going to be just an incredible trial. I really don't think the media is going to have to make up much. It is going to be filled with electricity - from start to finish. Thank God that wftc IS GOING to have a camera. I could not take it if In Session was the only one and STOPPED AT 3:00. I couldn't take it. As it is I want the whole day on tape and I think they are going to do as much as possible but the highlights. I really want it all, because I love watching the facial expressions - especially this last thank you by KC.

Do you know of anyone else who is doing the entire trial and broadcasting every minute of it?

:seeya: It will be incredible! I am just itching for it to get started..it feels so long overdue. I posted a Q&A question the other day about who would be carrying it besides Court TV, I guess a few local media outlets are planning to cover it live. I hope its complete, I don't want to miss a minute either! Court TV just will not do...gimme trial, not commentary! :great:

I love you Pip.

There is something to be said for "remorse" and no one in this family has it. And no one is standing up for Caylee in this family. They say they are but they are not.

Can we just be friends first? :giggle::giggle: LOL

Absolutely. I think one of the reasons this case is so important is because we have a grandmother who is a registered nurse, a grandfather who was a sheriff for 10 years and neither of them will cop to the fact that it WAS EXTREMELY SUSPICIOUS as Baez said the way their daughter was acting.

Wait till the trial starts and George gets asked the hard questions and the friends take the stand and start to tell what they know and Cindy gets asked about the money that was taken starting in February 2008, thousands of dollars, literally.

I think there will be a lot more coming out about this family than we know. There always is. Lets not forget Rick Pleasea - wait till he gets up there. I believe he is the only one from Cindy's family who is on the side of Caylee and who actually told Cindy - this is your fault - you let KC get away with this stuff for years and never took care of it. GULLLLLLLP.

YES, I agree that we will be hearing some dirty laundry on this family that will shock us all. (or not:waitasec:) More than we know now, for sure.

BOMBSHELL finally dropped today?
Defendant's notice for withdrawal of counsel today.

My guess is SIMMS. She looks frazzled.

Here is the proposed layout for media tents listed on the OCCC website.

As far as GA &CA in the courtroom or out, I've decided it's a split decision - yes, they'll make faces, chew gum, etc.if they're allowed in ...but if they're not allowed in, you know darn well they're not going to follow HHBP's reminder that witnesses are on the honor system as far as not following the trial. And truth be told, I would also like to see just what the final story told by all is gonna be. :innocent:

I do wonder if Casey will indeed try to cop a plea at the 11th hour, but something tells me the state is going to see this one through. I guess it will depend on what she offers - personally, I don't think she should get less than LWOP.

I'm so jealous of those of you that will get to watch the trial in real time!! :sigh:

I don't get home from my f/t job most days until 6pm (and will be like this all day in my chair M- F ---> :boing: lol) & then have my home business to work on for a couple of hours - :frown: :rage: - which means I'll be late getting on here to catch up, esp. in June :steamed: , and end up staying here reading until 1am :online: - or later. I want to watch the trial videos (no TIVO or DVR), but will have to be content with reading all of your great posts about what happened & what we who missed something significant must see for ourselves. You all do a fantastic job of summing up things and I want to thank you for that. And the humor, from dry wit to "that made me spit my soda thru my nose" is much appreciated and needed. As others have said over time, the "THANKS" button just isn't enough... :seeya: :rocker:

PS - I do plan on taking a few vacation days during the trial...wish I had a way of knowing in advance what good days will be :fence: (besides the openings & closings, of course!)

And the Kodak kiosk to get your picture taken with Jose Baez.
That Casey will be working??? Remember, she has Kodak experience!
