One of the more interesting factoids that came from the prelim, is that DNA results aren't back yet on multiple pieces of evidence. That still leaves a possibility open they find DNA matching to somebody else in DW's circle of "friends."

Just opinion. I know this has been hashed out...I'm disappointed more information wasn't forthcoming on Monday.
And why aren't we hearing more about the accountant? He played a role in this, at least in the chain of money being distributed...
Also, alas, the reporting on this case has been dismal.

I actually tend to give Wallace a break for alarms not going off in his head about the drop of $40,000 in the car. He had only worked for Mr. S for 6 weeks. The accountant - yes, I wonder about that person for sure.

It's the housekeeper of 20 years whom I'm having a hard time giving a break in this case. She's working with the boss at the dojo. He gets a call from his wife and says Amy is going out so he's leaving to go home. Same housekeeper later gets a voicemail from Mr. S telling her that Amy is sick and that she needs to call Vera's husband because Vera won't be coming home that night and that Vera's phone is dead and they don't have a charger to fit Vera's phone. I'm suspicious of her because:

1. She didn't listen to the voicemail until the next day (even if she didn't plan on returning the call and even though it was after 9 p.m. why wouldn't she at least listen to it that night???).

2. She didn't call Vera's husband after she received the voicemail. Maybe she didn't know Vera's husband's phone #. I don't know.

3. Why didn't she call Mr. S's mother when she couldn't reach Amy or Vera by phone when she heard that instead of "going out" the night before, Amy was "sick"? Mr. S's mother called Nellie when she heard about the house fire to make sure Nellie was okay. She probably cleaned their house too.

I think the assistant is just goofy. The accountant and housekeeper - not so much.

Pardon, I wasn't ridiculing anyone. I was explaining what would happen to JW should he go on interview. He's apparently been cleared. I was in no way interfering with the discussion but adding an opinion.

It was stated that some of SS's samurai swords were missing and haven't been located, makes me think that possibly other items were stolen, and HAVE been located? Maybe they tracked down where the Amerit truck was going.

Do we all agree that something in DW's initial plan went wrong? That he didn't originally intend to stay as long as he did, and possibly didn't intend to kill the family? Might be a helpful theoretical.

Some ppl mentioned in MSM in connection w crimes, perhaps on the fringes & not necessarily named as suspects or persons of interest by LE, stand before cameras or post in SM and repeatedly proclaim their innocence. Does that clear their names?

Some are later charged; some are later convicted (pre-SM-era ex's: Scott Peterson, Susan Smith).
Every yr thousands of ppl enter 'not guilty' pleas in court. Does that 'speaking publicly' clear their names?

On occasion I'm awfully dense and often see things from a different angle than most, but I do not see how JW speaking publicly would 'clear his name.' What would or could he say?
- I'm innocent.
- I'm innocent re extortion, torture, deaths of S fam & VF.
- I picked up money & delivered it as Mr S directed but did nothing else?
- I [tries to explain discrepancies in timelines re pickup, delivery, texting $pic, lies to LE, ack'ing lies to LE, etc.]
If he has counsel, imo, atty immediately had him fitted w industrial strength muzzle. Or maybe his Father.

If statute of limitations expires w no charges brought against JW, seems his name is 'cleared.'

Semi-related:
As to releasing affidavit in which LE stated JW ack'd "he lied," likely imo that's recorded or otherwise documented, such as in a stmt JW signed. If JW wants to take it back now, he can try, and perhaps some ppl wd/be convinced he did not lie. Help w job opportunities, maybe, IDK. Personally I'd be curious to watch recording and/or signed stmt and to hear JW's current version, if diff. No opinion about any criminal actions on his part.

I wonder where the swords are too. He obviously isn't running with them in the video AWAY from the torched Porsche in the bucket. I'm assuming a sword would be at least a couple or three feet in length?? Longer than would fit in the bucket. Soooo, maybe he was stashing the swords and cash during the 3 hours or so that he was in the Porsche?

Some of the reporting is just bizarre. Authorites haven't found the murder weapon? If the murder victims were strangled, weren't hands the murder weapon?

Some of the reporting is just bizarre. Authorites haven't found the murder weapon? If the murder victims were strangled, weren't hands the murder weapon?

Bless his heart, I'm not sure there's anything JW can say that won't stir things up. :/ No matter what he says or how he appears (nervous or confident) or what he wears, some people out there will find fault.

My thoughts exactly! They aren't going to find a murder weapon if cause of death was strangulation and he did it with his hands. They have a bat and a knife. Good heavens! This is a nightmare!

Good question! He hasn't been charged and it looks like he's going to be a witness for the prosecution. Can rumor and innuendo be expunged from one's history in this day and age of the internet? Unfortunately, I don't think so, but I'm not a legal eagle. I know it costs a pretty penny to have arrests and charges expunged from your public record. It looks like JW attempted to expunge his SM footprint, but alas some will remain until.... the apocalypse?

I can't even imagine how brutal DW was to this family. I can imagine but can't even type it out what I think happened in this home. I do think the original motive was money but he did seem to target the SS family. After 19 hours his desires became murder too, he had to be thinking of it. It's hard to imagine wanting money and then murdering one man, two women and a child. I can't think of a punishment that's serious enough to fit this crime.

I think DW's plan went wrong when he was unable to access the safes in the garage and Mr. S was then called home. There was little cash and not much jewelry. I don't know why anyone would break into a home where there were so many cars, but maybe he figured it was just the housekeeper home. I think he would have killed whomever no matter what. He was not going to leave a live witness.
