I think it might be useful if we find out just who this Burke fellow. He is now claiming he needs to be near his ailing mother - could they please put him in a prison near his mother so she could visit him? BUT we don't hear much about his 'father'. I think his father is alive and well........on the other hand he might be dead more than 10 years ago.

Burke may have some terrible growing up issues. His 'father' didn't name his first born after himself, instead the first born was called James Charles. James not being the name of the 'father'. Charles being the first name of the mother's father. When the 2nd son is born 10 years later the 'father' does name that son after himself.

I might be wrong, but it is too good to pass up if I am right. What a great movie this would make. A classic movie has already been made with one of the characters I am suggesting who might be in this story.

I have to attend a Christmas Party this evening but I'm sure I'm ("cough cough" :D) coming down with something and will undoubtedly have to leave early to hurry back home and watch episodes 7 & 8 of TKS. I heard a rumor there might be a Hawk flying into view in one of these eps!

Another mention of the sex worker and from this it appears the feds didn't listen either.

"The woman tried to convince local police to hear evidence she'd gathered that might point to a killer. She said she also tried to get federal agents to consider her information. When she did, she said, "I just felt like I was shut down in every direction.""

A poster asked for a link of a sex worker who tried to give information to LE.

Burke will be mentioned and shown in Episode 8, aired in the NY area, tonight 10PM ET, A&E. Pay particular attention to the interview of the retired NYPD detective that follows the clip with Burke. Very handsome guy and I can understand why they added him to the show.
Your funny. Will be watching.

Just wanted to say Thank You, hackshaw. You rock!

Wow, this guy first got involved with LE because of a 1979 murder of a boy found with rocks jammed in his throat & he testified in the case helping to put away the suspects. He would then go on to be employed in LEO. When he was a Sergeant, he had a longstanding relationship with a sex worker & accidently left his weapon with her after a tryst.

Whats the connection to the motel. None. He knows but it is not him. No quick solutions peeps

Just come food for thought regarding Burke and any possible connection to LISK:

1) Burke's first assignment as a uniformed police officer (lowest ranking LE) was at the Suffolk County PD First Precinct, which encompasses the Town of Babylon, which includes Gilgo Beach.

2) Burke was in charge of the Gilgo investigation (while he was still in office) before the entire Christopher Loeb theft thing occurred. But that event blew the cover off of Burke and the fact that while he was in charge of the Gilgo investigation, he intentionally prohibited the FBI from intervening. It was not until he resigned (after it became public that he assaulted a suspect (Christopher Loeb)) that the FBI was finally able to come into the Gilgo investigation.

You could interpret the second point above in a few different ways. Despite being a high ranking cop, Burke was not the top cop in Suffolk. There were several officials above him in the hierarchy. Even though he was the one in charge of the Gilgo investigation, the cops above him are in charge of him; so they in turn are really the ones who make the final decisions. Once they noticed that the FBI was still not involved in the investigation, they could have taken it upon themselves to overrule Burke and allow the FBI to intervene. However, they did not do this. This might raise red flags on not only Burke but also the officials above him. Why didn't they step in and mandate the FBI be allowed to intervene? Just some food for thought.

Yep, Christmas cocktail party where I enjoyed a few shots of Pappy Van Winkle and made it back home for TKS Episode 8. Nice job, Hawk... smooth and true as the Pappy!! :D

When the Gilgo Beach murders were uncovered Burke was not the Chief of Department. He was an Inspector in Spota’s office. Spota jumped right into the case when he should have kept his mouth shut. There are many who will say Spota jumped to the tune of Burke, not the other way around. If you agree Spota was all in at the beginning then you have to agree that Burke was calling the shots.
Burke is now moved to chief. By virtue of his rank he is the top cop in this investigation. Webber was over Burke………please, don’t make me laugh it hurts my insides.
To tighten up the information flow Spota gets his new boy, Madigan to be the Chief of Detectives. Madigan suddenly retires during the Loeb case. Spota will stop at nothing to keep a lid on the case.
Then we have that letter from Detective Stephan where he says he heard the 23 minute 911 Tape and he heard NOTHING!
It was Stephan that was charged with the investigation of the murder of Peter Ghattas on 9/24/03. Ghattas gave information to the police and after he was brought to Spota’s office on 9/3, he was murdered. He was giving information to the police and then the DA/Burke about Burke’s neighbor, Joe C. Now he is dead and the case remains unsolved.
Even I know who the murderer is and I didn’t interview one witness. It falls to 3 people: EW, RS. JC, or EW’s associate DH. JC was Burke’s neighbor.
When they went to Florida to pick him up they sent the Party Boat Owner down there with the detectives. JC invoked his rights to an attorney. Of course the PBO, or ADA JSP, and officer of the court directed the detectives they can’t speak to their suspect in two murders and a string of other crimes.
Please don't make me laugh.

Shout out to everyones appearance on the show. Josh and Rachael, good job. You left us wanting more.

The interview was about 45 minutes. One thing I thought was certain would be in the show is when I said one of the reasons this case remains unsolved is because nobody cares.

Article in Newsweek ; Magazine January 2016 about James Burke BAD COP, WORSE COP: JAMES BURKE AND THE OVERWHELMING STENCH OF CORRUPTION IN SUFFOLK COUNTY stating could this be the dirtiest cop in america?

I looked back to see if any past articles mentioned 'What happened to the Duffle Bag that Christoper Loeb stole from James Burke's Department SUV vehicle?

Burke went to the precinct and picked it up after Christopher Loeb's arrest, the same time Burke beat him. What became of the duffle bag? did Burke dispose of it? Has the FBI searched his home for it?

As we know it was reported the bag was full of pornographic material; DVD's Sex toys. Perhaps evidence linking other incidents?

He took the bag with him. In other words he removed evidence from the crime scene. My information was the FBI searched his home and his office. I doubt if they would have found anything useful at that point in time.
One thing that was confused is what Loeb called him when he was beaten. It was very clear that Loeb said he called Burke a pedophile and not a pervert as subsequent reports state.

IMO, you can call a pedophile a pervert but calling pervert a pedophile is not the same thing.

I did speak to a person that saw the bag and I was told there were 5 sex tapes in the bag, a lot of lubes, gels, beads, and all sorts of dildos.

All 5 tapes had nothing to do with Man/woman sex. One tape had a picture of a very young man, or 12 years old, in that person's opinion. The kid had his mouth wide open and there were about 5 erected penises pointed at the kid's mouth. - that is probably where the pedophile came in.

:yuck:

Now why would he have a tape with such a photo if not a pedophile ? (yep, rhetorical question)

I would have given a week's pay to take apart his SUV to see what he had in there. I'm guessing he had cameras secreted in the SUV so he could memorialize his conquests at the parking lots and rest stops.
