Maybe they didn't really have cash reserves. We really don't know what their personal finances are/were do we? Really that is none of our business. If the funds for Maddie's recovery are used for that purpose alone and not for a family vacation to Disney World then I have no problem with it.

On post #267, Jennylonglegs from another blog forum spoke of bleach being used to clean the wall behind Madeline's bed. Does anyone know if this has been reported and what was said about this cleaning? Also, I don't condemn Kate on whether or not she has publicly cried, but on how she is always made up, the jewelry, and cute clothes and hair. She just looks so nervous and uptight all the time. Maybe even angry. I can say, if I had a husband making a million per year, there'd darn better be a nanny traveling along on those much needed holidays or at least leave the kids at home for some of those outings.

That's an interesting and eyeopening discussion. Here I thought all along that Gerry worked for the National Health Service and was scraping by on about $100,000 a year. Come to tell, he is also in an exclusive private practice that caters to the rich and famous. As a cardiologist in this pricey game, he would earn about $1 million a year.

Poor poor Gerry. However will he pay the mortgage without dipping into the Maddie Fund?

Even Greta Von S. was a bit peeved last evening when she reported that the McC's were using the Maddie money for mortgage payments. I was surprised she would even mention it, as FOXnews has been ordered to go easy on the McCanns, as has their sister station, SkyNews.

Yep he earns a milllion a year now  In this country all NHS consultants will do some private work and vice a versa it is the way the system works in the UK it is usualy done in the same hospital - He does not work for an exclusive private practise - his employers are the NHS .

He has a lot to lose if he is found guilty of any crime, if he is narcissitic, he might not like losing the lifestyle he leads and maybe go to extroardinary lengths to prevent anything to stop his lifestyle. Just my opinion.

SleuthMom why would you care? It's their business.
The fund was set up to include financial help if needed.

Why would you care if I do? It was my question, if you do not know the answer, fine but please refrain from questioning what things I should care and what things I should not. Thanks.

Don't you find it odd that 2 doctors would need financial help from a fund set up to find their daugther ?
And it is our business since the money came from the public, didn't it?

What I find odd is people thinking we should not question at all how this fund is used.

The facts are out there now. Gerry brings in quite a few quid from his private practice IN ADDITION TO his NHS work.

Look it up.

You condemn Kate 'on how she is always made up, the jewelry, and cute clothes and hair'?????

Are you joking?

No, not joking. I don't necessarily condemn her, that's too strong a word, but it's very odd to have seen Kate so well put together very soon after the abduction. I thought the same of Patsy Ramsey. To me , it's a big red flag.

FACTS you talk about facts - ok Pink show me a factual link something other than just pure specualtion . that says Gerry earns a million pounds - please I would like to see it

Gerry is a consultant cardioligist at Glenfield NHS Trust - that is where he has returned to work today on maybe a part time basis. That is his main place of work and his main source of income

The Spire above is indeed a private hospital - that sometimes does NHS work as well - Maybe Gerry had done some work for them - most NHS consultants will do the odd bit of private work now and again - but his day to day business is with the NHS

I will tell you if Gerry was earning a million he wouldnt be living in a modest four bedroom house with a £300 000 mortgage - he would be living in a pad twice the size with no mortagage .

This discussion is so funny! The RURAL GP doctors here in Hicksville Nebraska make more money than a heart surgeon in the UK!!! I was the payroll clerk at our local hospital 5 for years, and even the PA's are paid around $70K/yr. The Pharmaceutical KICKBACKS, (money doctors are paid by big pharma to push their drugs) amount to almost 1/3 their salary....Looks like the SPIN Doctor is in!

one of the big differences between the US and UK - amongst many . Our doctors dont get KICKBACKS or bribes or whatever

keep up the spin though

both these stories are from the States - not UK

Interstedwoman states that doctors can make 1/3 more in salaries from Pharma companies to push their drugs !!

As far as I know if Doctors ever received payments like this from drug companies here in the UK they would probably be struck off - it is called bribery and against the law

The word condemn was your word, so sorry yes you did.

It is amazing to me just what people are condemning Kate on.

Mind boggling.

I believe the "list" on the new thread covers alot of the reasons why people are suspicious of Kate (and Gerry). That list is mind boggling, IMHO.

Since txsvicki replied that "I don't necessarily condemn her, that's too strong a word", I think it is safe to assume that she doesn't.

Her words not mine, post no.302

Thank you, I will take a look at that thread.

Yep, I was going with and just repeating someone else's actual wording in my own post, but then pointing out that I wouldn't condemn someone (as in condemn to Hell, prison, or death) based on their looks after a possible murder. But, I will criticize and suspect anyone that arouses my own suspicion. That's why I like crime forums and don't have any interest in debate forums or being in a criminal defense discussion like on Nancy Grace. To look for clues and actions in suspects is all part of it.
