I would think rigor would also be affected by what position the deceased is in when it takes affect, no? Was the deceased laying flat, sitting, curled up, etc.I would think her being ridged would make it easier, and not harder. So if rigor has set in, her weight wouldn't be imbalanced and shifting like someone unconscious. Thankfully I do not know from experience!
Q: Why People Seem To Be Heavy To Lift When They’re Asleep?
A: People feel heavier when they are unconscious because their body has gone limp. This limpness means that the person’s weight is imbalanced and constantly shifting. So, one would have to put in more effort to hold person in such a way that their weight remain equally balanced.
Why People Seem To Be Heavy To Lift When They're Asleep?
When someone is "dead" or "unconscious", the person does appear to weigh more, but in reality, this apparent weight change has very little to do with the presence of life or consciousness, and much more to do with the placement of weight.www.scienceabc.com
