Ok :furious:this is where I get really mad, now that I know what issues the mom has i totally sympathize with her, she needs a spokesperson it shouldnt even be legal for them to to question or media to interview her she needs REPRESENTATION NOW she is going to really crash when this sinks in and it wont be good, I think most of us that had some doubt about this mess, if we had known her diagnosis we wouldnt have doubted her story that seemed ......well odd, I really feel for her and hope someone helps she really does NOT need to be alone right now!

IMO this sometimes comes with the use of antidepressants.

Me too my Grandmother raised me and she was a Paranoid schizophrenic (SP) it was a nightmare her sister was in an in an institution I have NO IDEA why I didnt figure this out when she was first interviewed! it weird to have to deal with the insanity, Im sure I developed some issues I have been diagnosed with borderline personality and bipolar so now that I know her issues it all makes sense poor Mom I would be on Suicide watch for sure she really needs an advocate , I hope the father knows this and will help her

According to The Brunswick News this morning Karimah Elkins (DE's mother) has been booked into the Glynn County Detention Center more than 50 times since 1995 on charges ranging from misdemeanors such as shoplifting on up to felonies such as aggravated assault. She was just released from a week long stint for theft of services on the day Antonio was shot. Katrina Elkins (DE's aunt) has been booked more than 30 times in the last decade for misdemeanors and felonies such as driving with a suspended license and aggravated stalking. These *cough* ladies are no stranger to the jail system.

And all some people can talk about is the poor mother who was shot and watched her baby boy shot between the eyes and die in her arms as she helplessly tried to rescucitate him! :furious:

What I want to know is why her child(ren) were still in her custody??? How can someone parent from jail???

IMO. In more than one way, this case has become a travesty against humanity. First a little baby and now his mother.

If SW is truly schizoaffective as the daughter claims, the symptom I've bolded explains her seemingly odd behavior.

There is also a psychological phenomenon called "inappropriate affect" when your outward mood manifestations don't match your actual mood. Laughing at a funeral, for example. This could explain some of her behavior as well.

This is sort of off-topic for this thread, but I'm not sure how you can make such a blanket statement of something that is very hotly debated in the sociological and psychiatric field. There certainly are people who have spent their entire careers researching this.

I have to say I'm about 100% in the "nature" category. I think we come as we are, with our inherited destinies intact. Identical twins separated at birth usually end up in virtually the exact same place in life - even if their beginnings were very different. The greatest determiner of criminality in a son is criminality of the father, regardless of whether the son ever knew his father or ever knew the father was a criminal, and the boy was adopted out at birth.

I fully believe that we inherit, genetically, almost everything we become. Especially boys.

How could he call these lying women "ladies"? It doesn't matter if Elkins is from a large family or a small family, he is still charged as a baby killer.

As for his use of the word dysfunctional, that is quite an understatement describing the family. And why does he "wish them the best" when they have lied to law enforcement about a murder?

You would think after reading Gough's own Facebook page, promoting the Republican Party and talking as if he were a politician already, he would watch his words.

I thought he was being 'generous' with both descriptions. But he's a lawyer. He knows about slander. I believe he IS watching his words.
