I thought maybe, just maybe, the talking head would have asked the pastor if he noticed the D's were not at church on the 4th and if he did, was it unusual for them to miss the services? Did anyone notice? Anyone that attended the Kentucky Derby Party?

This seems a credible source. Why would someone describe the location as "near the dam"? Can this information be refuted?

LE described the corpse location as near the main channel of the Oconee river. If the main channel is essentially the same as the county line, how far might the corpse have drifted in say, twelve days? Distance from main channel at house to discovery point is about 5.6 miles. At a drift rate of 1.7 feet per minute, you'd think it's very possible.

Is their a gas dock at a marina on the Lake? Also the gas stations/convenience stores in the area's security cameras should be scrutinized on the critical dates, imo..

Yes gas docks, no cameras on sinclair, don't know about oconee

whethere mixed or regular gas, you can carry your own

no cameras definitely at the public boat ramps, usually pretty dark places, maybe a light but nothing I'd feel safe at

I guess so. Now BoJo's gone, Bone Island gone. Not much left on that end to even drive to now except Jackson's and Mexican. Maybe there's hope for something to come at the new Kroger.

I can see why no one would call because they missed church on Sunday. If either of them lived alone I bet they e could have. They looked after each other and I am sure no one suspected they had both been harmed.

It is too bad that the party goers didn't call to check on them and follow up sooner. Perhps even a welfare check since she did RSVP and didn't call to tell anyone they decided not to attend.

Yes..me too. I think with the limited information being released all we can do is speculate on what could have happened.

I am hopeful the sheriff has lots more and an arrest will be made shortly.

Hopefully some home owners along the route had security cameras mounted on their docks trained on their boats,that might have picked something up.
My neighbors can read a license plate 100 ft away on a moonless night.
His is activated by motion, but I guess a lake moves all the time.

Even if all they got was a boat, they might be able to expand the investigation.

Found this Marina(Gas Dock) on Oconee. There is prolly more than one and it is likely that the perps fueled up at a local gas station unless their boat was docked on the lake, imo..

I was informed last night that the house, while on the market, is not vacant or unoccupied. Not sure of the veracity but the members seemed confident and I was simply speculating about possible vacancy but I was assured the home is occupied.

as to location exactly in the lake of MRs. D's body here is the best, most detailed info I was able to locate on that.

Friday when the fishermen spotted Shirley Dermond’s body, it was face down about three miles northwest of the Wallace Dam.

The body was roughly 200 feet from an uninhabited spit of woodland on the Greene County side of the water near Riley Shoals.

Some of the nearest houses overlooking the location are on Long Island Drive, on the Putnam County side, but the closest residence is more than a third of a mile away.

The area lies just under three and a half miles in a southeasterly straight line from the Dermonds’ home in the Great Waters subdivision.

By lake, as the open water snakes in a Z around Long Shoals and past a slew of coves in the nearly 19,000-acre reservoir, the spot is more than five miles away from the couple’s dock.

A few miles north of Ga. 16 and about a dozen miles due south of Interstate 20, the place the body turned up is more or less equidistant from Eatonton and Sparta.

The Ritz-Carlton Lodge lies a little less than four miles to the north, slightly farther by boat.

We don't always gas up at the stations, sometimes we take our own gas

Something to consider that they were already gassed up if they transported boat to lake or even if they lived there, may have gassed up way before especially to avoid being seen near that time

But then, someone may be hiding in plain sight

So there is no connection to Mr. Dermond last seen leaving the Pharmacy @ Publix Super Market...common for elderly folks. No sophisticated prescription scam/home invasion targeting the elderly. No signs of "home invasion," nor a reasonable explanation why perp/s would need to decapitate one of the intended targets if that were the case.

I'm not so sure anymore about there being no connection to the murder of their middle-aged son and his perp's sentence even though Sheriff Sillss says, no connection.

I dunno---maybe not my #1 theory, but not eliminated IMO.

Apparently it was created by Georgia Power in 1979, for hydroelectricity, by building a dam on a river and flooding a valley. Besides the homes there, it sounds like a really nice vacation spot, with a resort, spa, cottages, etc.
