I recall seeing on the other thread about what is known about JM that Carr was a last name in his family, possibly his grandmothers. He had been familiar with the area Morgan Harrington was found. Had a history in the place. He had lived nearby with his grandmother when his mom sent him there to stay out of trouble. The people in the area apparently knew him and a store owner near there was reported to have seen him days after Hannah Graham's abduction. He was a regular. I think I posted the article when it came out, on the thread pertaining to JM.

I'm really conflicted with Longo... they have some sort of forensic evidence to link HG to JM... doesn't sound like enough for him to know she has been killed (according to him comments at the press release with his feelings of her being alive). They must not think HG was ever in the car he drove with to TX since they haven't seemed to doing any searches out that way. If they think there was a chance in these last couple of weeks that HG was still alive, and near by, why haven't they done something - through the lawyer of course - to work out any deal to get him to talk...to try to save her life? They do not act like time is of the essence.

What would be the quickest route out of town if JM's car was parked in the 4th st parking garage area? (not saying he was parked in the garage as it was closed IIRC) JM was driving with an expired license, he renewed it the FRI before he skipped town, so IMO, he would have taken the fastest route out of the populated area if Hannah was indeed in his car.

I'm listening to Coy Barefoot now and he just said he's a little disappointed that they haven't used more volunteers in the rural areas if people are offering. I kind of agree but I hope that Longo has some sort of a game plan that we don't know about either with the search or a way to get JM to talk

cville_bob...is that a tip? Should you call that in?

It sounds like SolVol already called it in. I'm not sure its a tip so much as random thoughts spurred by looking for connections between the little info we have. Its only slightly stronger than the "tip" my Ipod gave me when I was thinking about where Hannah could be and it played "Looking for a Rainbow"

With that said though, since they are seemingly not interested in non-professional volunteers this weekend, I currently plan on either hiking all 7 miles of the trails in the Ivy Creek Natural area, or perhaps kayaking along Ivy Creek.

I found an obituary from 1972 for a George Carr, from the same family it appears, who died at his farm "Barrackside Farm". I see a Barrackside Farm Rd northwest of Charlottesville, near the Barracks area. http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=est3739-2&id=I28930

I was also just thinking about that fake name he used when arrested in Texas, George Carr. Several people here have said that his grandmother's name is Carr. But maybe there is more to it than that. Maybe the name is linked in his mind in some way to a place he had been recently. Sleuthing this shows that the Ivy Creek Natural Area is associated with an African-American family named Carr. Also the name of George Carr is associated with a farm on the northern bank of Ivy Creek where Hessian soldiers were stationed, which has been known ever since as "The Barracks" that is just to the west of where he lived.

http://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?q1=%22George%20Carr%22;id=uva.x002672921;view=plaintext;seq=45;start=1;sz=10;page=search;num=31

So not so much trying to get back at "George Carr" but merely being aware of the name in association to where he took Hannah, and blurting it out when he suddenly has to come up with a fake name.

Indeed. And just like his life. Hiding in plain sight.

Given the burial ground with one road in upon which he was found, perhaps he has put more thought into this than any of us give him credit for.

If only we could think where hiding in plain sight or some greater connection (like SolVol mentions) might be for Hannah.

(P.S. - Hessian Hills, where he lived, is named after the Hessian soldiers.)

BBM:

My guess would be that he improved upon his disposal technique(s) since MH. jmo

That's what worries me.

And my understanding is Morgan was not out in the open when she was placed there. It was only after a severe storm that she was found, when the owner of the property went to check the fence line for storm damage. Tractors/people never went down there. Presumably the storm "washed" her to where she was found from where she had been placed, a place where no one would have ever found her.

I worry that he may have changed his disposal method as well. Morgan was left in a hayfield that was not only extremely remote, but reportedly had hay that was waist high. JM probably thought that there was virtually no chance that she'd ever be found due to those factors, but she was. My fear is he may have placed Hannah in an old well or similar.

ksj3, I don't believe that Morgan's remains were "washed" anywhere or had moved in any way at all. Is this your belief, or have you read something about that possibility? I'd be interested to hear your theory or see any links.

Aside from never seeing any information suggesting that, there was black clothing and a bracelet found with the remains (sources here and here) that, IMO, very likely would have been displaced if her remains had been moved in any way. I have never seen any reports stating that her skeleton was disarticulated or missing any bones either, which again, would likely be the case if her remains moved.

Really interesting. Like it's a known spot for serial killers. JM also liked Step Up on FB, which was an organization dedicated to stopping rape and violence against women. Something tells me this was a sort of hobby for him...a big interest.
I despise the whole "mentally slow" persona he seems to have mastered to those around him. I am really seeing him as a very, very perverse individual. Not just a serial killer, but one who took great pleasure in it.

Does anyone know if LE took his computer from his apt?

Wall0214 provided the (a?) link for me earlier, in response to my statement. Someone else mentioned it on one of these threads, with words even more suggestive that she had been hidden and, with the heavy rains, had been washed out - perhaps from the woods? - to where she was found.

http://www.timesdispatch.com/news/u...081-942f-5b5d-8a26-c25df5649a67.html?mode=jqm

"David H. Bass, owner of Anchorage Farm, found the remains as he inspected a fence line from his tractor after Sunday's storm.

"The heavy rains had washed things out, and I noticed an area where the tall grass seemed matted down from the snow and rain," he said.

"At first I thought it was a dead deer, but looking closer I could see that it wasn't."

Bass said the remains were almost entirely skeletal but clearly human, and he called 911."

So I looked at where traffic cameras are around the town...they literally are...around the town in a big circle. Appears to be at every major intersection leading in/out. Does anyone know much about these...are they recording? I am sure if so LE would have watched those hours after her disappearance.

Have they checked landfills? If not, at what point does that become necessary?

"Latis" beer importer / "Amber". Seems like a made up name, IMO.

Well reverse image search shows that photo is linked to other accounts in other countries with other names...sheesh. Anything is possible but all we can do is hope that there is an actual tip. It could seem that someone is trying to make Tempo look bad...or get attention.

Trying to catch up and had a thought as I read these posts, the tipster is a possible competitor trying to get Tempo busted for underage drinking?

There's a press conference, if you go back, with an expert who speaks of where Morgan Harrington's body was found, when in was first found. He is very emphatic in his comments about the area where she was found being a place familiar to whomever placed her there "with intent." He states that the person is most likely a local and the place has significance. Worth watching.
