[h=1]Crew Member’s Jacket among Confiscated Items[/h]
According to Fréttablaðið, the third crew member stepped forward because of his jacket, which he said he forgot inside the red Kia Rio, rented by two other crew members, who remain in police custody, suspected in Birna’s death. RÚV radio reported during the 12:20 pm news hour that the owner of the jacket was suspicious of the fact that his jacket had been washed in the washer aboard the ship on Saturday without his prior knowledge.
He thought nothing of it until the ship was made to turn around on its way to Greenland. At that time, he became suspicious and subsequently notified the police. The police have not confirmed what items were confiscated aboard the ship.
rbbm.The police have been researching ocean currents in the area between January 14 and 22 in an effort to determine where exactly her body was thrown into the ocean. The result of that research, Fréttablaðið reports, is a special focus on the coastal area from Grindavík in the west to Óseyrarbrú bridge in the east.
It looks like TMO's girlfriend has dumped him...
I feel for her too, the horror of finding out something like this is lurking in the mind of a loved one, seeing Birna's photo and knowing someday, eventually, it would be you next....
Thank you for posting photos, they are so beautiful. I wish more communities on Earth would regard their lost with this kind of love and reverence. Life is truly that precious.
How amazing! Thank you for posting.If you click on the following link you can see a video from the memorial march that was held in Birna's honour yesterday. About 8,000 people in Reykjavík attended and it was held in other places around the island too. They walked from Hlemmur, a bus station at the end of Laugavegur to Laugavegur 31 where Birna was last seen. Candles and flowers were laid on the steps of Laugavegur 31. They then walked on and ended at Arnarhóll which is a hill where the statue of Ingólfur Arnason, who was the first settler of Reykjavík, is situated.

I completely agree. We have become so tolerant of crime in our country, that sometimes we give almost no thought of those innocent people who have died as a result of violent offenses. I am thankful for the way Iceland has showed us their national outrage, and in doing so, exposed our inappropriate acceptance of violence.
