Reminds me of young Gabriel Fernandez in Palmdale CA. The DCFS workers knew exactly what was happening to him at home and did absolutely nothing to protect him. They are also accused of falsifying documents to cover their tracks. In the end he endured horrible torture at the hands of the adult monsters in his home and died.

Edited to add: I'm always kind of taken aback at how little attention Gabriel's case gets here on WS. I'm not sure if it's because of how horrible his injuries were or what. Makes me a little sad.

And Nubia Barahona and her brother. :(

Personally, and IMO, many of these workers fudge their reports because they really don't care enough to do their job right.

http://media.miamiherald.com/static/media/projects/2014/innocents-lost/database/

The award-winning Miami Herald series "Innocents Lost" has a database of over 500 children who died of abuse or neglect and many were on the CPS radar and nobody did a damned thing. Children. Babies. Beaten, raped, starved.....in filthy homes with drug addicted parents.....

But nobody ever thought they were at risk....

I call BS. You have ONE job. To PROTECT these children. FAIL over and over.

*absenting myself before I get in trouble*

I'm a (somewhat) local, saw this on the news the other day. What a horrible outcome. Let's hope justice falls on whoever did this.

Welcoming all the newbies to WS!

:welcome:

On the condition of the house:

Then the case worker:

“We have had prior contact with this family including four unfounded investigations for neglect and two prior pending investigation for neglect opened in March 2017. DCFS had been at the home on April 25 at approximately 3:20 p.m. and had seen all three of the mother’s children including Semaj. There were no obvious hazards or safety concerns at that time. DCFS has been working with the family, offering services since September 2016,” DCFS spokeswoman Veronica Resa said in an email.

" ... we noticed that she wasn't - oh - she wasn't with us ... "

[noticed that she wasn't breathing perhaps?]

ETA I seem to have lost the video somehow ... it's of the mother being interviewed ... her words

She speaks to this reporter here

Have to say the departments of government here are very lazy and corrupt (hope it's okay to voice my opinion on this, I live in the state.). But it's Illinois after all, so not surprising. A family member used to work for DCFS and said as long as kids have clothes and food and no immediate signs of abuse, they are "fine" and people who call in abuse claims need to stop being "so dramatic" and "abuse does not mean what most people think it means." Yeah, okay. -_-

This is a MSM reporter, live streaming herself as she interviews witnesses, as she chases the story and is filmed for her on camera reports which ARE being broadcast by the MSM affiliate that employs her.

More and more we are seeing this style of reporting. It is the direction things are moving in journalism. Similar to MSM written articles that cite "unnamed sources" "someone close to the investigation"

I have asked Tricia to weigh in on this particular reporter and her livestreams. Until she can do so members are pretty savvy, they should decide what weight to give these livestreams for themselves..

Thanks Tlcya!

I am not convinced the social worker was ever on that block! There is black mold on the ceiling, too. Ugh!

All MSM articles say baby Semaj was barefoot when she went missing. Did you see that vile floor with ashes, cigarettes, and various garbage?? Good gracious I wouldn't even let my dog on that carpet, let alone a 16 month old baby in bare feet. This is just unthinkable.

So in SIXTEEN visits they never found anything wrong?? OK... I'm getting closer to your side of the fence. 

Hoping this is allowed, since the obvious source of this video is actually the Chicago news station with breaking news:

Now someone tell me AGAIN that social worker went INSIDE that house and found zero concerns. Please tell me how that's true.

16 visits since Sept of 2016????? This is only April 2017.... so in 7 months, a documented 16 visits, and those precious kids were not removed???

Can I just say, we removed CATS from a situation that wasn't as nasty and unsafe! CATS! Yet children were allowed to live this way???

When will it ever end? When will the kids come first? Sigh!
