Sorry to butt here for a off/topic question, but this thread the most active..received a note from a mod to use facebook for some of my comments..here's my question: can I sign up for a facebook account to comment here and not get friend "requests" from everyone I've come in contact with since kindergarten? or is it one facebook account and katie barr the door? I couldn't find how to contact a mod without being in an active thread. TIA

Yes. The only death dates are in the obit that the families write and they can put whatever date they want.

The official date of death, from the coroner in Terra Haute, is not known by the public.

I am talking about legal time of death as recorded by coroner/medical examiner. I suppose you could put whatever you wished in an obituary.

Some times, yes. This time, I thought he was very forthright, but each to their own.

Everything LE says in this case is SO very criptic, and open to many different interpretations!!!!

Drives me nuts. Can you imagine him in a conversation with his wife?

WIFE:" honey, should we have peas or carrots?"

SHERRIF:" well, I haven't ruled out peas quite yet, but it's been heard that carrots are good, but I can't really say. Your smart dear, I'll let you draw your own conclusions"

GAAHHHHHHH.

Any new from the case, i was far from home to see and check the forum.

That's the city of Delphi, isn't it? I believe RL's property and the Monon High Bridge may be in Carroll County, technically, because the Sheriff said CCSO has lead, TTBOMK.

Jethro? Anyone familiar with property records?

ETA Where I live the Sheriff's Dept of my county patrols unincorporated areas, areas they're contracted to provide policing, are in charge of the county jail, court policing, and is part of the coroner's office. Maybe it's different in Delphi/CC.

The Sheriff of the county would be the lead investigator in my state, as well. I recall one official stating, "It is on the east side of Delphi" but I could be mistaken and he said it is east of Delphi.

RL did have a rural route address, at one time, but that is no longer the case.

Thank you for your reply!
The physical evidence makes sense, (prints, etc). But all of those other things you mentioned....drafts of emails, texts, etc. Do they exist on the phone and at the "carrier" simultaneously? Meaning are they in duplicate?

Yes, making phone calls, texting, and using social media, such as tweeting or logging into Facebook causes communication between the cellphone and one or more cell towers. Data can all be collected from the carrier without warrant, just with a simple subpoena.

All IMO

And which side of the bridge and in what direction did this take place. That is the sticking point to me.

ETA: Have you ever seen a night time view from a drone? It's just not very good/viewable, IMO and yes I've been there when drones were flown at night. It's pitifully poor vision. Day time is great though. JMO

This news report was done the night of the 13th. Is the information reported about deputies, drones, and DNR incorrect?

Going along with the theory that the girls were placed by the river the same day or later that night.... Perhaps one of the girls remained by the river overnight and the other placed nearby the next morning. As I recall from the search parties and description of the girls on the 13th, Libby weighed close to 200 pounds. Sadly she could have possibly been murdered 1st and her body remained in the same place. Abby could have been taken out of the area for several hours and then her body returned on the 14th in the early hours before search party resumed.

Difference in body weight of the girls makes me question my initial theory they could have been taken out of the area. But with lighter Abby, it's possible. I don't see someone taking a 200 pound person to and from an area so easily.
Never thought of that. JMO

.
IMO, I don't think the escorting by the Sheriff of Carroll County was done with the intention to send a message to the public to stop the Internet speculation or possible public speculation in Delphi. Let's face it, however atrocious RL's criminal background is, it's nothing that we don't all see or read in the news weekly and sometimes daily from whatever state we come from! If this was about protection I'm thinking LE would have shown a stronger force?

The girls were found murdered on RL's property. LE discovers he's violated his probation both before and after these girls went missing. LE makes a statement that their attempting to either clear RL completely or move him up higher! All I've heard from LE is "RL is not a suspect, at this time". "At this time", is huge for me, but I can understand others think differently and I appreciate that!

IF and when they clear RL completely I'm expecting a statement from LE. They would almost have too for his protection...Maybe even legally! I'm guessing I'd hear:

"RL is being released from Carroll County Jail today on probation or serving 9 month sentence. RL is not a person of interest nor a suspect in Abby and Libby's murder. LE will not tolerate any harassment in regards to RL personally or publicly and this includes his property! Any such action will be dealt with swiftly from LE"!

If he's innocent I can only expect that his attorney would not only request this but demand it. If RL is cleared LE doesn't want any added, extra problems.

These are just simply my own thoughts. :) I do want to thank Bemused, what you've added these last 2 days has been awesome! It got a lot of us distracted and away from the RL debate....and back to sleuthing!

You would like to "debate" a man already in jail for a 4th weekend?

Sorry, I do not know you and this is nothing against you, but the FBI will know what happened or did not happen on his property based on the evidence gathered during their search warrant.

We have no idea of BG's physique. Maybe he can press 400#. Many men associated with gyms, personal training, triathlons, or working out in their own garage can press a good deal of weight. Even some guys who live in the woods, poachers, and such, are usually in good physical shape from walking and hunting over rough terrain. The walk from the back of the cemetery is not that far to the CS. According to NIN, it is appx 750'.

The only thing I can think of is that there could have been something going on with one of the girls in their home life. I thought it was said in the media (DailyMail?) that one of the considerations is that the girls might have been heading to a relative's house (step-grandparents) in Flora. Something like that might be enough to give less consideration to foul play.

However, in my opinion, something changed by the morning because of the way the searches happened and the kinds and amounts of resources present. It could be the mere fact that the girls hadn't turned up by then or contacted anyone. It could be that LE got access to the cloud storage for Libby's phone and had come across the video (if that is how LE obtained the video).
This has always bothered me. They said they were going to an older brother's house. Is there an older brother? I didn't think so??? JMO

[bbm]

link please
Don't need a link. I will give you an example. Let's say you have a burglary. The criminal enters through the front door and exits through the rear door. LE nor a prosecutor can prove that either way - only the burglar knows. Lets also say that there is only one camera in that building and it does not have a view of either door because it is inside an office. And on the video you have a view plain as day of the burglar - no mask, nothing. You also have the person's fingerprints - no gloves. That person is already in the system, for prior burglaries no less. From outside video at another business way up the street it can clearly be seen that headlights are seen on a car pulling up to the building that was broken into and the car can be seen to stop, the light come on as the door opens and someone gets out and goes to the building and after some time comes back to the car gets in and leaves. There is no way to know it is the person that burgled the office nor the make and model of the car let alone a license number.

You will not find the prosecutor arguing with the defense attorney about what door the burglar actually entered or exited because the prosecutor doesn't need to bring it up. Just being in that room on camera and having the fingerprints was enough to prove burglary. LE didn't have to waste any time trying to figure out whether the burglar went in or out which particular door even though those were elements of the crime. You also won't have anything come up about the car or arguments about whether it was the burglar or not who drove it - because it doesn't matter even though it was an element of the crime when you had the nice closeup view of the burglar and their fingerprints. There would be no need for LE to send off the distant video of the car to NASA to try to enhance to read the plate or see the driver. Not one second of investigative time would be needed.

I'm going to hell for laughing at this....

But seriously...the part I bolded REALLY irritates me. That is the only reason I haven't been able to completely rule out RL. He's about 99.5% ruled out in my book. I wish he wouldn't have said that.

On the other hand, BG being RL is 100 percent ruled out, IMO.

:gaah:

Time to walk the pup. :seeya:

I agree with you , a predator that got lucky with two young girls all alone and nobody about and he took his chance.

He may of walked that trail before on the look out but never got lucky , I think this was sexually motivated and I just hope Libby has done enough to help catch the person.

I agree it was sexually motivated and he was a predator, and even that there might have been another person involved, but I'm leaning more and more towards he was a local SO that knew of the girls previously and maybe had even interacted at one point in a strange way with them and that might be why they were creeped out by him, and why Libby started filming and recording. He might have even used a fake account to interact with them online and access their current whereabouts, especially if this was a place they had been to previously. It just makes so much more sense than something random. It seems too calculated, risky and purposeful for random. This would explain why they didn't just think he was a normal guy out for a walk and were suspicious. Or maybe he did pass them approaching from the end and turned around. For this reason I think he'd want to take his time with whichever one he/they were interested in, ...for some reason I'm leaning towards Abby. I'm also leaning more and more towards planned... because crossing the stream in cold weather (deep or not) where the temp is dropping as the sun sets can lead to hypothermia. There would have been a limited time window for walking around while wet. Someone posted the temp had got down to 23 that night. If Abby did pass on the 14th that kind of solidifies they were brought back later after SA and I'm wondering if someone from the search party that started just around daybreak might have even maybe passed the killer/s on the way out from the site in a truck or van.

I respect your opinion and the length of time you've been a member here.

When is the last time you heard LE "clear" anyone in a homicide case?

I first lurked here when Sierra Lamar went missing and read here/links how her mom, her boyfriend, dad were treated. It was awful. LE never, ever cleared her family ^^^ even though they were tailing and GPS tracking Torres that they later arrested for her murder with no body recovered.

Have the Delphi LE even "cleared" the families of AW and LG? I can't find a link to that and NO I don't think they killed them.

Thank you ...

We won't know a bit more than we do now, imo, unless there is a trial. Frustrating but true. I can't think of anything LE would be likely to release any sooner as details of the crime won't help the public identify the killer. They had expert advice all the way through and if it was thought some details would help, they would have released them. We can only wait and hope for an arrest.

Crime reporters, if they exist, don't dig deep anymore and if they do, they don't report anything that they discover, unless LE gives the okay. The kind of reporters that do, probably are reporting rumors that can't be verified anyway.

I have poked around social media a bit, more than I normally do, and am not finding much from rumors via locals either. Just rehashing, <modsnip [

I think if an arrest comes, it will be sudden and out of nowhere but who knows how far off that may be.

Hilarious.... Lol. Thank you! :)

The only place we have seen different death dates is in obituaries provided by family, not on any official documents, as far as I know. LE has given no indication the girl died on different days.

There have been many cases here when the date a missing person is found is used as the date of death in obits and it always becomes a debate. I don't know why, since the families can chose what to write and it will be posted that way. Jmo

Getting to be that time. Night all. Sleep well and Justice for Abby and Libby.
