8000 square feet.. that's only 743 square metres..

that's not excessively large, by any means..

The average square footage of a SA home is a little under 1,200 feet.

is Oscar the average south African?? that will be new news for him..

what are the average size houses in the silverwoods estate???

you do the maths..

Doesn't seem large by neighbourhood standards, anyway.

Good question.

Here is a house in the Silver Woods Estate in Petrolia it is 5306 sq feet, and selling for R3,950,000

http://pretoria.olx.co.za/p24-10116...erwoods-country-estate-pretoria-iid-587631900

Here is a listing of homes for sale on the Estate

http://www.olx.co.za/q/silverwoods/c-367

Oscar’s home has an estimated real-estate value of R7291340.00 because of the notoriety of the home the market value has dropped to R5,208,100.00, still quite a bit more than the other listings so I would say it is rather safe to infer that his home is large even by Silver Woods Estates standards.

not at all. and it certainly isn't large by Capetown standards either.. Camps Bay ,Fresnay.. 10,000 Sq Ft is average..

so its a fair statement to conclude that Oscar's home, or his former home which would be more correct, since it is now sold, at bargain basement price is not an excessively large house for that level of the market. Merely because there are some homes that are up for sale on that estate, and no wonder, .. which are smaller than Oscar's doesn't take into consideration the ones that are larger, and not on sale..

How unfortunate there is no video of OP and Reeva together in an interview setting. I think you would have found something interesting. :)

Yes , probably would have been interesting , although , for where the trial is now , i'd love to see some video of the upcoming assessment.
I think there are things that will be learnt with this assessment , i really do.
And might surprise a few of us.

Cri.. Roux used a video clip during the trial. . I just cannot suddenly recall at which part. it must have been during his leading of Oscars testimony. certainly the 2nd day, towards the end..

its a clip taken on a CCTV in a sort of service station... Oscar and Reeva shopping and caressing and whatnot while picking up merchandise.. .
of any use??

Frank must have worked from dusk to dawn to keep that spotless then. :p

Hi Trooper!

I will go through that video , i'm just at work atm ( and veeeery cheekily on WS haha!) , although i suspect that being a cctv there would be a lot of frames missing , not counting the grainy images. I'll have a go later on anyway and let you know :)

It seems that SA has a different way of listing properties I have read that Oscar’s former home was 8000 sq feet

http://www.eonline.com/news/523758/...va-steenkamp-was-killed-to-pay-legal-expenses

Bidding for the 8,000-square-foot home will reportedly open up at around $500,000. Its luxe amenities include four bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, a veranda, a jacuzzi lounge, a pool and a sprawling backyard.

Now I just read this

“The house, with a property size of 1 045 square metres and a floor area of 580 square meters, has four bedrooms, four bathrooms, five reception rooms, three garages and a swimming pool”

http://www.news24.com/SouthAfrica/News/Pistoriuss-home-on-the-market-since-2011-20130219

I have also read that property listings are the sq meters listed not necessarily the house sq meter but the property square meter size.

Maybe a SA can clear up the square meter listing question. Is CTC still posting?

oh don't worry about it. it really isn't important... unless one is thinking of buying real estate in Pretoria.. which, frankly, no one has expressed any desire on that matter on this forum..

its just not an excessively large home. that's how it is.. . of course, that is subjective.. someone's not excessively large home may be someone else's palace, I don't know.. but for a gated estate thingy, Oscars place is mediocre.. and was very badly kept.. tiles falling off, windows broken, Jacuzzi broken, air conditioner broken..... interior decoration substandard..
???
why would anyone have been bidding in dollars for this place.. = $500,000?????

It would be a palace to me :floorlaugh: although not my style :shakehead:

Does look quite poky and crappy compared with the neighbours though.

The reason that the size of Oscar’s home was brought forth was to discuss what the reasonable possibility was of Frankie not hearing anything that night, I merely stated the size of his home, it went in other directions from there, for reasons only known to those that took it in other directions.

The size of the home would be germane to the conversation about Frankie, the ill repair (or not) of the under construction home perhaps not so much.
