I thought something was just about to happen, about 20 bazillion times in this case. I thought that with Kyron too. :banghead:

Seems it's just not that difficult to hide a body....

IMO she's in heaven, y'all. I know it's hard to face, but cadaver dogs do their jobs with no bias. And when mom is hesitant to talk to police, or let anyone else who was in the house talk to police... I'm sorry, I'm a realist. We won't know for sure until a body is found, but the evidence that we know of points in a tragic direction.
I do believe in the HRD dog (maybe plural, we don't know). But humans make errors sometimes, and dogs are human. ;) Yes...still hanging on to some denial here.

That said, I think there was/is more than one HRD dog involved in this case (thus less chance of error). And I have faith in LE and FBI and all that goes with that.

What really breaks my heart the most about Lisa, other than whatever happened to her...is there are thousands of people (millions?)...single people...married people...people in non-traditional partnerships...that would have wanted her and welcomed her into a loving environment and family...and kept her safe and loved. :(

I just want them to find her little body and give her a right and proper burial. And pray she speaks the truth of her too early death, like Caylee tried to tell us.

No kidding. That case proved if a body isn't found until it's skeletal, someone can get away with murder. Caylee was found in December, I wonder if that's when poor Lisa will be found...

"The last few weeks have been exhausting to everyone working on behalf of the Irwin family, it has exhausted Lisa's parents and her friends and family," Short said in a news release. "There fore the consensus is we all need a rest...

to everyone working on behalf of the Irwin family, This is a regroup of the media spin and defense. They are going to wait out to see what happens in the coming days after the boys are interviewed. There are two decided statements here. One that the family is tired but also that "everyone working on behalf of the Irwin Family.

WE all need a rest. Written this way it is Inclusive of those on the defense team.

Shouldn't they be working on behalf of Lisa? I swear, I feel like she is in the background while this family is getting coddled and cuddled. It's just wrong.

My point in saying that Lisa isn't resting well is in pointing out that on day 4, when if there was the smallest chance that indeed Lisa was abducted/kidnapped that is when the forward movement had to be at its best. And the parents needed a break. Now here we are in week 4 and the family needs a break. What I am seeing here is waaaa waaaaa

Legal maneuvering at its worst. There is something brewing IMO and either the lawyers are in disagreement, there is a breakdown in the family support or something else is brewing. Because I'm not buying the exhaustion. I'm not buying this change of plans at all in less than 12 hours. I'm seeing stall tactics and that does not bode well for the parents in my eyes.

I agree, Grandmaj.

If the parents had been meeting with LE every day for these past 3+ weeks, answering questions, etc. (which they have not), and if the parents had been passing out fliers & pounding the pavement for the past 3+ weeks (which they have not), I could believe they are exhausted & in need of a brief rest in order to get some sleep & in order to regroup. In fact, I would be the first in line applauding their decision to rest.

The fact of the matter is, they have NOT done these things that would have led to their state of alleged *exhaustion*.

Besides which, I don't believe the media tour of the house was to have included the parents, so it makes no sense for Ms. Short to cancel it due to her clients' energy levels.

I have a feeling the next few days will be enlightening.

If they need a rest why not just rest without making a big production out of it...? They could have just not scheduled a press conference and a tour of the home, not given any interviews or statements to the press. Lawyers and families say no comment or avoid returning reporter calls often enough.

Exactly.

This "team" was apprently assembled for the purpose of defense of DB/JI, not for the purpose of finding Lisa and whatever happened to her, or "finding the truth". Bless Lisa, btw. :blowkiss:

It started with AI...then there was ML...and then the law professor (within less than a week), and mushroomed into BS, JT, and CS.

Well in reality it wasn't the parents who were going to be doing the tour or press conference. It was the legal team. Sooooooooo even if the parents are exhausted, what does the lawyer have to be exhausted about? I say something else is up. The lawyer cancelled for a reason other than that she was exhausted. IMO

Yes, one has to wonder why the parents chose to assemble a defense team as opposed to a team of LE, professional organizations, and community volunteers who can actually help them find their baby. Seems a little counterproductive, ya know?

Exhausted??? I would bet that those of us at Websleuths, who sit here and type on these threads are more exhausted than anything the parents are doing! STALL...STALL...STALL...the longer this goes on without finding Lisa, the more difficult it will be to figure out how she died. DB admits that she watches missing child cases...she's no dummy! This makes me sick!

Yep, stall for 31 days, then a few more months, this is starting to feel like major Deja Vu, Casey Anthony all over again?! :maddening:

Again - agreed.

I've never heard of an attorney claiming to be exhausted as a reason they were unable to meet commitments made on behalf of their clients.

Nope - I don't think Ms. Short was saying that she herself was exhausted.

This is a bit o/t but why did the neighbor not go to the store to get the wine? Why get the brother? Maybe the neighbor was too young to buy it like the brother was? And do we know if it was the drinking buddy neighbor or the teen neighbor that supposedly sat with the children?

Something is amiss in this particular scenario to the store. Buying the baby items throws it out like a red herring.

The neighbor aka drinking buddy is not too young to buy alcohol. She is the same age as Deborah.

Ms. Short sends out vibes of not being comfortable with her client.

Maybe she is about to quit the case soon.

JMHO

I'm getting that feeling too. Short herself said that Baby Lisa was the glue (or some other phrase like that) that held the family together. DB refuses to move back to the home. I wonder how long JI's family is willing to let them stay...indefinitely?
BBM

I've heard and read this before, now it's starting to take on a whole new meaning for me. I've also wondered before if JI was thinking of leaving DB anyway, and thought it would be more convenient for him to not have a dependent baby in the way (hate to say that, but...) . He was able to avoid child support by taking his son away from the mother, but in this case with a 10 month old girl it would be much more difficult to do. Just something to think about. There are a lot of men, not all but enough, who want out of relationships and responsibilities and would do just about anything to get out of paying child support. JMO

Just curious.... the cadaver dog hit doesn't convince you that Lisa is no longer with us?
I can't speak for others, but it does not conclusively convince me. It looks bad, and I dread that it's true, but it is not conclusive evidence IMO. There is a reason it is categorized the way it is. It, alone, is not even probable cause. It's "reasonable suspicion" in terms of getting a search warrant.

Cadaver dogs CAN hit on blood. My child had a head injury, it bled a lot, and I took her to the hospital. 8 hours later we were home and I cleaned it up. The decomposing blood WOULD cause most cadaver dogs to hit on that spot of my house.

The fact that a cadaver dog would most likely hit in my house leaves me to want more evidence.

But I will absolutely confess that my heart sank when I read that. Which means I do fear it to be exactly what it appears to be. :(

I don't think it was the tour so much that CS wanted out of, I think it was the press conference in her office where she would answer questions from the local media. She likely learned the nature of the questions and realized she can't answer them in any way that wasn't going to make things worse.

I have to wonder about her judgment, too. How could she not know that stating the parents were too "exhausted" and needed to "rest" (after not doing anything of particular note the last 2 weeks) was going to ignite the s***storm that it did? All she did was create a hot mess.

I know this is just my personal opinion, but the sitting idle, ie. resting would be killer for me.

I know it's not apples to apples, but my husband is deploying to Afghanistan in less than 36 hours. I wish we could just get him gone already! He's been working a ton preparing, and that's actually been a blessing in disguise. Whenever we're together we're both kind of cross, not wanting to confront painful emotions and start breaking down in front of the toddler, so most of the time we sit awkwardly with this HUGE elephant in the room of him leaving to a hostile country for half a year. It's terrible! Tomorrow he gets to come home early from work to spend the day before he leaves tomorrow night. I'm almost dreading it. Trying to think of something to do like go to the park so we don't have to sit here and stare at eachother and think about him leaving. Maybe we just have faulty coping skills, but that's one of the reasons that it's SO hard for me to wrap my head around the idea the resting periods.

And if she didn't realize that reporters could ask some awkward questions in a press conference before announcing it she's not on top of things either IMO.
