Just some random things I've wondered about and just wanted to note.
Aug. 28, 2014 - The first thing I wondered was where EM was when the neighbor arrived. Nothing was mentioned about RR, nor did I think about it at the time. I assumed he wasn't there. However, I wonder if he showed up at some point or if he was in the basement when neighbor/police arrived. On the police report his vehicle is noted as is the woman that called the police. EM is listed but shown as "Active Negative".

I don't know why I thought RR was taken into custody on a different date, but according to this story it was "at that time":
Sources tell 7News Murray's boyfriend , 37-year-old Raymond Rivera, was arrested at that time and charged with two counts of reckless endangerment.

If that's the case, what happened to the two counts of reckless endangerment? So those charges disappeared or were misreported? Gaaah, the city of Blackstone really hasn't handled this well IMO!
Then there are the stories of RR's "friends":
The card player and RR's former co-worker that allowed EM to babysit her infant son for several months:

It doesn't seem as though he was "made" to stay in the basement or that EM was physically trying to stop him.
Another thing that stands out to me is they reportedly lived at 3 St. Paul St. prior to moving into the 23 St. Paul street address. From the info I could find that appears to be an apartment building. Were there any issues with cleanliness at that address?
Something that I believe we've all questioned and wondered about is how no one could report foul odors either on the occupants themselves or from the outside of the residence. One of the friends (linked above) described RR having his clothes dry cleaned, maybe he had the children's clothing dry cleaned as well and kept them in his vehicle? My understanding is EM's mother possibly visited with the older children regularly, maybe she brought/kept fresh clothing on-hand for them? Out of all the articles, reports, police log calls - one neighbor that lived at 19 St. Paul reported the smell (assuming it was from the animal waste). Other neighbors, after the conditions inside the home were discovered several people came forward in various articles claiming they'd smelled a foul odor but attributed it to trash outside the home/animals waste. Then there is this:
"Diane Densmore, who lives a few doors down, said she and her fiance often walked by on their way to the grocery store and were struck by how the windows were always closed and the shades drawn. She said there were no fans in the windows even on the hottest days." -

I can't find the other stories I read regarding people mentioning the windows being covered, shades drawn, or not being opened in any way. Photos from Google taken Nov. 2012 show differently. The average temps for that area in Nov. 2012 was 47 degrees F. The highest being 66 degrees around mid-Nov. I'm not sure I'd have my windows open any of those days. lol I cannot understand how people in the apartment building next door failed to notice anything. I wonder about the "bystander effect" although that typically refers to a group.
If you click on the link for the date on Google images, you can choose from a few dates in 2009. In those it appears the windows, we suspect belong to the children, are open.
I wondered (I may have mentioned in one of my earlier posts) whether any of the animal remains were of a dog that was in the background of a profile photo EM had on a babysitting site...Her older children were the focal point of the photo and the dog had his back end facing the camera. I thought it looked like either a pug or some type of chihuahua mix. Sadly, unless she had more the same size/color, the photo we saw in the latest set of pics appears to be that dog. I know this may not amount to a hill of beans, but they were things that were on my mind and thought I would throw out here.
