For those looking up SG without a NetDetective registration, they have nothing on her in the entire state and nothing even close as far as other spellings.

New article, I just started reading it but it could possibly provide some time line answers?

http://www.freep.com/article/200906...nifer+Buchanan+denies+killing+daughter+Nevaeh

In the story Buchanan tells, 5-year-old Nevaeh walked barefoot across the old brown carpet, worn and stained, and headed for the front door.

"Mom, I'm going upstairs to Austin's house to play a game," Buchanan remembers her daughter saying.

It was about 6:30 p.m. on May 24, the day before Memorial Day. Nevaeh walked out, the door shut and that was the last time Buchanan says she saw her daughter.

"I trusted her enough for her to actually go," Buchanan told the Free Press last week in a 2 1/2 -hour interview, discussing everything from her relationship with two sex offenders to how it feels to be suspected in her child's disappearance.

Also:

Nevaeh had just had an accident and changed her clothes.

This account raises my hinky meter. Her five year old daughter just tells her that she is going upstairs. She doesn't ask, she just tells her? That strikes me as odd. And the fact that this exchange was nothing out of the ordinary seems to tell me that Nevaeh was used to making her own rules and no one really bothering to check on where she was. If she wanted to go to Aaron's, she was going, no one would ever tell her not to, in fact, I'm willing to bet that no one really cared where this kid was.
That simple quote about Nevaeh telling JB she was going upstairs reinforces my original thought that her mother may not have killed her, but probably doesn't care much that she's dead. From everything I have seen of the mother, she seems to be not in shock, not even really dumb, just...absent. She doesn't care. About anything.

She trusted her enough???...a five year-old??? The he!! with trust! Why didn't she protect her! The child at the door allegedly told her Neveah was in the street, and she went in search of her flip-flops. Meanwhile, her BAREFOOT little girl was being abducted. :behindbar

A time out mom, all right. She couldn't take time out from her busy television viewing schedule to care for her sweet, precious daughter.

Thanks Chilly, this is from the article and Prof has posted some of this quote below;

Buchanan said she knew of Kennedy's criminal past.

"I gave him a second chance. I was just befriending him. I confronted him about it. To my knowledge, he was honest to me about it," she said.

"As for Roy, I only knew him for a couple of months. Because he knew George and they had some kind of classes together, I figured Roy had the same offense against him."

She had known Kennedy a couple of years. "If George wanted to do that, he would have done it a little sooner," she said. "That's the way I feel. But I could be wrong."

Is this woman as clueless as she seems? I find it very hard to fathom.

[/B]

Thanks, Chilly. It does clear up some of the timeline. It also answers Momtective's concerns about the change of clothes.

I found this disturbing:

That woman says the oddest inappropriate things about her daughter!

What's very disturbing is that she knew or suspected both men were child molesters and yet she let them around her kid. Hell, it's disturbing enough that she would let herself be around them. :banghead::banghead:

Giving her the benefit of the doubt she may be using a different way of saying she asked and then told her she was going. It is odd though.

I did find this...there is no sexually explicit material UNLESS you click a link on the page. Every one is an escort service. Everywhere from Montreal to Cancun.

I believe she referred to that child as a "tattletale" :banghead:

I do feel sorry for her to an extent. She is now suffering knowing how stupid she was. Her grief seems genuine to me. Whatever happened has made her a wreck.

If she knows anything or had anything to do with it she may be scared and grieving. If she did have something to do with it or knows something then my sympathy flies out the window.

Sounds like the thought of him doing something to Nevaeh had already crossed the mother's mind way before the current incident.

Steely Dan - Trust me, nothing compared to what they would find if they searched mine. Google searches for grave + river + concrete + raisin...if not arrested, I would be locked in a padded room.

Do we have any background information regarding whether or not there were any stipulations placed on Jennifer by the court with regards to Nevaeh?

Did Jennifer lose custody of Nevaeh temporarily or permanently?

And hearing that Nevaeh had an accident right before she left doesn't sit well with me either. Haleigh had an accident right before she went missing as well. Many children soiling themselves lead to them being beaten or murdered.

I have 3 kids (youngest being 7) and this was the first thing I said. My 7yo would leave on his clothes for 3 or 4 days if you let him. That was a real big flag to me.

JB claimed in todays Free press article that Neveah had problems with waiting until the last minute to go to the bathroom, and that day had an accident and changed her clothes....red flag to me too....although it could be nothing....hard to tell at this point

I'm not sure if JB technically lost custody.....her brother said after JB had her home invasion case, they decided to turn custody of Neveah over to the grandmother.....I don't know the specifics....he also said there were no stipulations...whether that's true or not, I don't know....

According to the Nevaeh's father he went to court to try and get custody of Nevaeh but the court gave custody to the grandmother. Sure would love to see a paper trail regarding Nevaeh's father's custody hearing ...

I don't feel sorry for her one bit....I just got done reading the article in todays Free press and she actually angers me....I feel the only reason she's "a wreck" is because the media is on this case bigtime! She's spot lighted in the nation's eye! Of course she's gonna try to gain sympathy!....being a criminal herself, I'm sure she's well aware of how the media works and how these cases are portrayed in the media....she doesn't want to be thought of as the next Casey Anthony....I don't think she actually murdered Neveah, but the way she lived her life, the choices she made, all could come back to haunt her, especially if her lifestyle and her choices of friends end up being THE reason Neveah was killed.... there's plenty of other moms right now in similar situations, who could care less about their child/children....but let that camera start rolling for the evening news and watch their demeanor change right in front of our eyes! It shouldn't take a child being murdered for these parents to realize their mistakes....The whole, "lessons learned" thing only goes so far when you're a grown adult, sometimes there are real consequences for choices made and you don't always get a second chance, especially when you're NOT a teenager still trying to figure things out....she thought of the consequences of GK being around Neveah and for some reason, put that thought aside....she deserves no sympathy....

I'd love to see it too! Wasn't that was after though?.....I think the father at a later date went to try and get custody.... if I heard it right....after the grandmother had been given custody and I believe JB basically signed custody over, if you can even do that....like I said, I don't know the specifics, but I don't think the father tried right away to get Neveah...or did he? Anyone??

That's the first that I've heard of that (accident) happening. Anyhow I read that myself and for the life of me I don't get it - I don't get why a parent would take it personally and/or see it as some kind of defiance directed toward them - that says alot about their lack of knowledge and understanding in the way that children develops. You would think that someone would have to at the least take a course in child development before they should be allowed to have a children. ADDING: After posting this I noticed ChillyWilly's post above referring to an interview w/ JB that spoke of it.

Thanks Chilly I was reading this as well. One question for anyone who can tell me :) I thought that mom had went to Kmart with Navaeh around 3:45 ? Am I mistaken on this issue..because I don't see where she talks about it at all. TIA

It was mentioned somewhere??? I believe by the father that he was wanted in Monroe for past child support.
This grandmother deserves alot of support and credit for raising this child on her own. At her age she should be enjoying her life.
So much for the father caring enough to help the grandmother with support.
I pray the community embraces Mrs. S. Buchanan and helps her through her time of grief.

People don't need a course in child development to be a good parent, or to understand that "accidents" happen. I would suspect that most parents have no formal education in child-rearing. You just need to love your child unconditionally in order to understand these things.
