This first segment is a good start to let authorities know somebody better come up with some answers.
Thanks for sharing this, jggordo. I'm pleased to see this station continuing to cover Carl's case. Not only is it important that justice be served for Carl and his family, but all facts of the case brought to light and the public learn exactly what happened, IMO. Whatever happened to Carl and his family could happen to any of us.
According to the report, the name of the owner of Second Chance Homes, the Independent Supported Living facility where Carl lived prior to his disappearance, has not been mentioned in the (criminal, I assume) investigation to this point.
This makes me wonder if the investigators are of the belief that she was completely unaware (even though as the owner of such facility, she should have noticed that Carl was missing, IMO) of what was done to him. Maybe she only provided financial backing, and was never involved in the day-to-day operation of the facility, and she cannot be held responsible for his death, at least criminally?
If so then, are the actual caretakers -those described as 'people working in the home day in and day out' in the report- the only ones possibly responsible for Carl's death, or at least concealment of his body (we do not know yet if hidvdeath was the result of someone intentionally harming him or due to neglect, but we do know he did not put himself in the storage unit, inside a concrete-filled container and a crate)? Or were there others, such as his court-appointed legal guardian -Callaway County public administrator Karen Digh- or his case manager, who knew what happened to him, but chose to do nothing, or even helped disappear Carl (e.g., renting the storage unit, forging and approving reports to make it look as though he was doing just fine, and agreeing amongst each other that they would report him missing as soon as anyone became suspicious) because they were afraid of what might happen to them -or really, their job and status in the community- if anyone was to discover what actually happened to Carl?
Sorry for the lengthy post. I'm just really angered and also deeply disturbed by this case.
