If the crime scene was secure...then the car was not part of the scene...? For surely it was not secure while sitting at M&M's...

(I do not believe Jessica was burned while inside car...)

Classito

I agree. I don't think she was either. I am strongly leaning towards this being just the "burn" scene.
I think there was another crime scene somewhere else during the missing hour.

Thanks both Classito and gngr~snap for your posts.

Subpoenas, lab results in Jessica Chambers case may provide more clues
WMC Action News 5's Michael Clark sat down with District Attorney John Champion to discuss the latest in the Jessica Chambers murder investigation.

Please read John Champion responses to Michael Clark. Could it be Champion is telegraphing the perps that the timeline, eye witness accounts and phsysical evidence are not meshing with lab results from Herron Road? Perhaps CS investigators had long suspected staging at the CS and only needed confirmation from lab analysis reports.

(This was quoted from) Full interview with District Attorney John Champion

<snipped>

DA Champion: "And the damage to the vehicle occurred while people were trying to get in trunk"

DA Champion: "umm the crime scene team . . . there was an attempt to get in to do inventory in the trunk and unable to do it"

DA Champion: "Quite frankly some of the investigators . . . after the car was processed by the lab"

DA Champion "damage to the car has absolutely nothing to do with the case" Crime Scene team did it.

Just my opinion. Please feel free to critique.

I wonder where they got the 3 month timeframe from? Waiting lab/DNA or election or??

I think sandbox/church parking lot by the post office was CS #1, knocked out, drove to Herron. This is South leaving M&M. I think she was at store at 6;30, left to hangout at the sandbox.

There is at least one universal rule among all CS investigators, be it local, state, or federal: Thou Shalt Rope Off The Crime Scene. I think with TV and newspaper reporters all over the place, a second area surrounded with yellow tape would not have escaped everyone's attention.

Investigators didn't leave the scene until SUNDAY AFTERNOON. The scene WAS secure. So who came back and added stuff to make LE look incompetent?

Thought it was widely known that a SO kept vigil over the CS after the initial investigation until others arrived the next morning, so I'm not sure I understand someone "who came back and added stuff to make LE look incompetent". Are you referring to her cell ph? The earrings? The undergarments? The whiskey bottle? The keys? Wasn't the driver's window rolled down to allow Oxygen into the vehicle? Or the passenger door was open, and she came out that door bc someone else drove her to that location. We spent lots of time discussing the positions of the car's seats whereby the drivers seat appeared to be all of the way back to accommodate a taller driver.

Maybe JC called 911 and that's when the ick sound was heard. Firmly, the DA: "We know what she said." If she didn't make the recorded 911 call, then the utterance never happened after firemen arrived and it's a red flag. JMOO

By the time medics arrived at 8:12, including the Volunteer Firemen & salaried Chief, I don't believe she could speak, especially if there was accelerate poured down her throat and I believe that it was. Moreover, there was a gash to her head, possibly surrendering her mostly helpless. JMO

When she was drenched in accelerate, lit on fire, her pain drew her out of a zonked state. It is highly possible, and I think likely, that the perps poured more accelerate on her as her first flames died down. 95-98% of her body burned. At this point, she would have been on the ground where the charred tissues were found. I think she got mud/soil on her feet getting out of the car and that's what saved the soles of her tiny feet from flames.

Those fire hoses are not easy to hold because the force of the water flows so rapidly. However, Cole instructed his men to preserve the evidence as much as possible. Muddy patches would be created in the soil affected by the water from the hoses.

Many things could have become dislodged or slightly relocated during the fire hose dousing water onto, and inside, the fire in the car. Her car was not even smoldering at M&Ms. I take that back. It seems there's a photo where pines leaves were still igniting at the front windshield near the hood.

I don't think motorcycles were used for transportation unless for one or two of the perps' escape. There had to be an enclosed vehicle, car, SUV, truck at some point as was clearly made by rb and his unicycle cartoon. I can see a truck filled with a gang of folks, a motorcycle or two so possibly as many as 7 people on the scene. Only certain ones actually poured and ignited the young lady's beautiful body. Perhaps the others chanted and urged them onward with their evil cruelty. Jessica died a hard death. She was terrorized by terrorists. She most likely knew her attackers.

This is a hate crime. Anyone capable must hold hate, jealously, embarrassment, resentfulness, bitterness, mistrust, vengeful feelings in their heart(s) to commit this crime on Jessica. That hatred simmered as it did not occur overnight or within a few short months. We know it was premeditated. We just aren't sure when the plans began to be developed. Maybe it was planned while she was away at Leah's.

"It was not random." DA

As federal cases tend to do, the deeper the investigation gets, the less information has seeped through to the public.

This has been a long arduous one for authorities, as around 70 federal, state, and local investigators

Federal Marshals only get involved in specific crimes i.e drug problems etc. But,I can't help but wonder if the Feds were there also investigating a pedophile ring. (speculation by myself only)We know that organized criminals deal in a multitude of arenas.

For a war vet and a veteran investigator to say Jessica's crime is the hardest he has ever worked (his words) boggle my imagination. What was done to Jessica was pure evil. It is past time to arrest the monsters.
My opinion only.:cow:

Indeed several things jump out:

Can't help but wonder if the Feds were there also investigating a pedophile ring.
(speculation by myself only)We know that organized criminals deal in a multitude of arenas.

Timeline

1)Hugh's out of jail bonded out, charged suspicion of sex offense Dec 5.

2)Jessica burned to death Dec 6

3)Hugh's Convicted of child molestation May 26th

4)June 11th Detective Barry Thompson says case going in a new direction.

I think connecting the dots Gng~snap has earned her Webslethers of the day Badge. :bud:

Thank you! I have thought this from early on!
It's definitely on point as far as timing goes. It also could explain why some people feel like it's necessary to engage in this victim shaming and smear her image. All the stories on the sidelines definitely give a defense atty plenty to work with and helps to poison a jury pool. I'm sure once an arrest is made the trial will be moved out of Panola Co.
I think if DNA is what they are waiting on, it will cinch the case and there will be no wiggle room for the offender. ( or anyone who has had knowledge and actively covered up the truth)

I also find it interesting that Hughes isn't the only relative of Darby's that's a registered SO.

The Panolian article above specifically mentions a juvenile. Can someone connect me as to how that would be Jessica? Because it was just after he bonded out? IMO that's not enough for me anyway. He would have to have been under suspicion for years because it specifically mentions a teacher was the one who learned of it and reported it.

ETA: She would had to have been under 16 at the time.

RSBM: BBM:

With regard to snitching what she said was, "Something else that haunts her is that in the weeks leading up to Jessica's death, she had told her mother she was afraid, but she wouldn't say why.

"Jessica kept saying, 'Mama, these *****es think I'm snitching, and I'm not,' " Daugherty said, adding Jessica could have been referring to males or females with that term. But she wouldn't tell her mother who she was afraid of.

"You never really knew if she was serious or not ... she came in one day and said it, and the next day she said it again, and she's looking behind her out the door, and I'm looking behind her like, 'Who?' 'Nobody. Nobody, Mama. You don't need to know.' Then why are you so scared? Tell me!"

***************************************
In the "Weeks" leading up to her death.

So I don't get the connection with Hughes. Did she know him personally?

There doesn't have to be a connection. I doubt that there is. The child told a teacher and it went from there. I'm sure there was an investigation in the weeks before he was indicted. It's a small town word gets out. He is a relative if the Sherrif. I'd imagine it was BIG news in town.
The arrest would not have occured immediately.
She could have known someone, another perpetrator or a victim she told Ms. Oliver she wanted to tell her story.
She was silenced over something someone did not want out.
Hughes was facing serious time. He maintained his innocence and plead to a lesser charge.
Hughes got off easy.
If a victim had DNA proof she was molested by someone.
Could he deny the accusations and walk away?

I do find the timing of his indictment, her death, his sentencing, the "new direction" and "that one piece of evidence" more than a little coincidental.
imo :cow:

I'm still more focused on the bad drug deal. She was probably scared because her bf was in jail which means she was defenseless in the streets. It seems like she really didn't want to go out that night at all.

I'm with you, Dex. If RH was on "leave" that evening from one of his many stays in the Panola, Yalobusha, and Granada County jails, I would not have wanted to be little Jessica, out driving the streets of Courtland and Batesville after dark, "unescorted" because her bf was locked up.

If ever there was a candidate for a CHL, Jessica would have been it. After an 8-hour course, some range time, a background check, and a CHL was issued, things might have turned out very differently on Herron Road:

"Chambers said her daughter was trying to work on some anger issues"
http://www.criminaljustice.ny.gov/nsor/som_mythsandfacts.htm

Remember Sandusky? Once it went public, how long had he been molesting children?

Jessica may not have been a victim this man, but a victim of someone else. She said she had a story to tell.
The US Marshals were in town.
There could be a ring operating
in the area.
A Google search will show you that she has friends whose fathers are child molesters as well.
I'm sure if she was the victim of a molester he would not be happy about her telling.
Most victims never tell and the abuser continues the abuse in other children.
Maybe she was afraid someone in the family would try to touch Anabelle?

There are more facts in MSM to support this theory than the ones about her selling drugs and cheating peole out of money.

It is sad how people are smearing her name and victim shaming her.
There is zero proof she used any drugs.
Domestic violence is real she wasn't dating anyone and her boyfriend was locked up. She never went anywhere per her family.
"She was at home or at work or across the street."
Her killer is close to home imo.

A tiny girl was arrested twice for assault. Was she fighting back an abuser? She was "talking back" and not being a "lady"?

"She was lured" isn't that what child molesters do? Lure children?
