Roy,

Unfortunately I have followed too many cases to fall for the line "person or persons". Our PC world has forced LE to also become PC. One thing about it though, in the cases I have followed where ther are persons - two weeks tops before there is an arrest because one always gets the snot scared out of them and rolls on the other. i.e Bobby Cutts & Myeisha, Speers & Collings and so it goes.

Cop speak in my opinion.

That is what I am saying. I thought you were placing emphasis earlier that the Chief was confident in solving this crime. That statement is cop speak as well.

JMHO (à la Fran) :)

roflmao..............hey, you can put that little cow icon under your siggy.....it flashes "moo".....my opinion ony :).

And even though I snipped your post............I agree whole-heartedly with everything you said.

Yep cop speak too - but it was also the article headline - should have cleared that up - sorry.

Part of that Cisco hat assumption may have been fueled by me posting a pic of BC in his Cisco hat on the photos thread.........I put it there just "in case".

MOO...that is perfectly OK, because that is what he has been seen in with the media.

OJ went to Nicole's funeral (of course he is innocent:rolleyes:). Scott Peterson went to all the events for Laci.

As for the funeral in Edmonton, is it possible that LE took his passport or asked him not to leave the state and/or country? I don't think he would have went anyways (I sure would not have).

Why would LE have asked him/told him not to leave the country and/or taken his passport??

The temporary custody order gives him two supervised visits with the children between now and the October hearing.

So evidentally he is allowed to travel to Canada. Now, what about coming back?

+++As it was, the media was reporting the story of her funeral and the story about Brad's affidavit (which questioned Nancy's character and put her in a disfavorable spotlight) on the same day.

And the Loch-Smear crowd, along with the in-laws didn't say, imply, take his kids away or anything! Nope, they were nothing but lovey-dovey neighbors and charming in-laws when Mrs. Cooper was found dead. Nice folks! I must've have missed Mr. Coopers' warm embrace from them. The affidavits they wrote were quite damning, some accused him of murder and had the gall not to prove it! I wouldn't want be anywhere near them.

Once again, Mr. Cooper had a private memorial service for his deceased wife.

Another case 'Mom' mentioned - they wouldn't charge until someone saw the murderer at the scene. Jason Young is still enjoying his freedom. Ann Miller was only charged because a lawyer for a key witness (who commit suicide) was forced to divulge what his client had said to him.

I never said this!

Jilly, this is what I said last night in my post. Please lets get what I said correct if I am to be quoted.

The murder case in Cary this past Feb, they got the ex-husband arrested were a few key items...computer, video at a convience store purchasing gas, a few fibers in a back seat, and leaves in the windshield. The one thing I believe nailed him is he stated his ex had not come over to settle a dispute, a neighbor stepped forward to say the ex WAS there and they saw the car.

If just 1 person can place the vehicle at the dump site it would most likely move this case as fast as the other one did.

IMO this is why the CPD is trying to get just 1 person to say they saw something. They probably don't want to wait just like we don't for the DNA to return, but this is what they need at this point since no one saw NC jogging or a vehicle.

Interesting people to compare him with! Still, it was a good public relations move for both of those men to attend their wive's funerals. Different situations, of course. Although these men may have had public scrutiny, OJ and SP did not have the need to respond to affadavits that were in the public eye, as far as I know. I am sure that OJs publicist would not have allowed him to respond on the day of Nicole's funeral, even if he had.

I also think that it is our duty to go to the funerals of those that were important to us (JMHO).

Why would LE have asked him/told him not to leave the country and/or taken his passport??

Because he's obviously a suspect in what may be a death penalty murder. The cops would have been insane to let him leave the country. If he had tried to do it, he would have been calling their bluff and they would have had to find something to charge him with to keep him in the states.

He's not going to Canada Star - the memorandum of judgement requires one of the plaintiffs to escort the children back to Raleigh for the supervised visits. Both sides to split the costs associated with the transportation, lodging and food required for the trip. The link to the memorandum is in the Legal Docs thread.

I guess I am not quite following you and not familiar with your post. Do you mind explaining more even if through a pm? I did not know that the memorial was in Canada nor that Brad had a private service. Interesting.

Brad certainly has the right to grieve in any way he would like. The main thing that I was saying (which you did not include in the quote above) is that his actions contributed to the media controversy. He certainly had to respond to the affidavits. He just had poor timing. Of course everything that I have said is just my opinion.:)

It was reported by multiple media outlets and his attorneys that he was having a PRIVATE service. Therefore, I consider it a fact unless proven otherwise.

ehhh...I think I'd better make some dinner. Somehow tonight my head must not be working very well.

Bubba, gimme back that brown paper and vinegar!

Private as in BC was the only person attending?

Passing it back rather gingerly luv. :)

Did any member of Brad's family attend any of the services held for Nancy?

First of all, I'll say that like everyone else, I have no idea if he is really guilty of anything. The statistics don't look good for him and the cops obviously consider him as at least one suspect in the crime, that much is clear.

That being said, it seems extremely presumptuous for folks to be saying what they would do in terms of memorial services if they were in Brad's position and they were actually innocent. I've never had my wife's partially clothed body found on the side of the road and had everyone assume that I had killed her. So, I'll be the first to admit that I have no idea what I would do.

My gut reaction is that whatever I did would not involve TV cameras. And as long as I had any control over what happened in my children's lives, their life would also not involve any TV cameras.

In fact, I'm sure that this is not a popular opinion here, but I found those news conferences that Nancy's family participated in after her body was found to be very strange and somewhat inappropriate. The Cary police chief called two news conferences where she said absolutely nothing, but then turned the floor over to the family to talk about Nancy and then to talk about her children. In what way is it the role of the police to call news conferences for this type of thing? Do they host press conferences for families of all victims of violent crimes?
