kc evidentually doesn't want to go to funeral or her lawyers would be challenging it.
She'd be responsible for covering the costs of attending it too. The sheriff's dept. budget doesn't include escort service for inmates to attend funerals. I think this is one of the first smart things JB has done by not challenging, but money could be the real reason. MOO

So the defense is NOT going to do another autopsy on them????

Apparently not. Autopsies are normally done to examine soft tissue and internal organs to determine cause of death; in this case, there was nothing found but bones.

I don't know how they would go about performing an autopsy on a skeleton.

oh my, little Caylee will never have a date of death on her tombstone..............sad
I have family members who just have the year of birth and year of death on theirs. It's not uncommon for the exact date of death to be known.

ahhhhh, if the glass/plastic is taken out of frames, the LE just might find body fluid or something minute!!!! I know I clean the glass but never the crease or ear piece............

My thoughts, also. Could she have had some body fluid residue on her hands after disposing of the remains, then, like we all do, perhaps pushed those sunglasses back up on the bridge of her nose.

The plastic, conceivably absorbed some of that fluid ........ could still be there, maybe - is plastic porous in that way?

Or, as you pointed out, could be in the hinges/screws, from her handling the glasses prior to washing her hands, or in those grooves that surround/hold the lenses.

They are talking date of death... I've always thought that the official date of death was they day it was legally documented. In other words, Caylee's official date of death was the day she was found deceased. (of course, she had to be identified, but until officially said to be her, she was a documented deceased baby doe)

For one thing by examining the bones for any fractures. I also heard the ME arranged her skeleton as it would've been if intact. I thought that nice.

(Can't watch NG right now, so I didn't hear this.) However...I don't think the A fam would dare put a date on it since they professed she went missing on June 9th anyway. They would probably get the date of her death wrong on purpose, too, imo. By the end of the trial, we will know what date she died...I hope.

I know...just thought that too...how unspeakable.
Also, if Casey is innocent...what possible reason would she NOT want to attend the funeral of her own child? Her lawyers are making her look even more guilty by not challenging this, imo

Well, we all know that the angels have been holding Caylee in their arms for 6 months.
Caylee doesn't need her earth guardians anymore esp her so called mother there.
May Caylee rest in peace! I do not feel sorry for any of the A's.........IMO

I understand they cannot pinpoint the exact day and time of death. But what kind of window would they be able to get ... months? weeks? days?

Per JB's motion filed today, they are planning a 2nd "autopsy". Probably mainly just have expert examine the bones, but he wants to have all the state's reports first to compare to, so lord only knows when they'll bury her.

I thought examining bones fell under forensic anthropology, as opposed to performing an autopsy.

This is true because one of our best friend's and neighbor was found and date of death declared on July 29th but we can document his death to the 26th- never thought I could type this without sobbing...but it has been three years, RIP Colin- miss you and love you dearly! XO

Didn't they take a whole tree from the crime scene? Was that the same tree the meter reader was talking about in august?

It often takes a long time, many months for the carving and placement of the tombstone. The philosophy is that when relatives of the deceased are grieving, is not the best time for them to think of what they want inscribed on the gravestone. A few months down the road, they will be in a better frame of mind to give thought to how they want the permanent marker of their loved one's life to read. Many people wait as long as a year, placing the gravestone on the grave at the time of the first anniversary of the death.

Forgive me if this has already been asked and answered, but Nancy Grace has mentioned several different times about her being a crime victim, and my husband and I have been wondering what happened to her...anyone know?? TIA

Even when bone remains are found here, they autopsy, looking for fractures, breaks and various indicators of what could cause death. In this case, I am sure they would have had more than one expert examine the bones.

That's the first I heard!

Knowing NG though, someone probably stole her parking spot :crazy:
