Even if he had slipped away, what would he have done then? They would have still gotten him eventually. This was a classic lone wolf suicide mission. No way was he going to get out of there alive, and he knew it.

The Sheriff is just trying to spin this, to make it look like they stopped him. But the fact is they got to him almost an hour after he was already dead. They didn't stop him, he was finished. The Sheriff's opinion is based entirely on the fact that he had more guns and ammo in his car. I can think of at least three possible reasons for that. 1. Maybe he had all the weapons and ammunition he needed already in the room. 2. Maybe he didn't have time to bring the rest of it into the room. It must have taken him a lot of trips to carry all of what he had to the room. 3. Maybe he just forgot that he had more in the car. He had a lot of weapons there already. More than enough.
Or maybe he had hoped he could get out to the car to do one last suicide mission with the car as a bomb and LE did stop him.

In my mind it's not a stretch to consider that a psychopath believed, planned for an escape. In his mind.

And not to be rude, but I think the FBI should be looking into the brothers home, computer activity and finances...

Agree completely. There is something that just doesn't make sense about all the $$$.

I believe some of the rounds were being fired from right above where the taxi was parked. Others were being fired from the window on the other side of the building. So some of the shots were closer. She was very close to the shots being fired on that side of the building.

How were these rounds being fired from the 4th floor without breaking the windows?

Our multi- millionaire:

Past court filings and recorded deeds in California and Texas suggest he co-owned rental property.

owned at least three separate rental properties,

divorced at least twice, including marriages that ended in 1980 and the one in 1990.

From day one how this even entered the story amused me

he obtained three-day, nonresident fishing licenses in 2009 and 2010.

So essentially at this point we have a guy who has a modest house, co owns an apt or so. delivered mail for a bit, and is a bookkeeper on and off.

But he did get a fishing license in Alaska for six days!!

There appears appears to be no information in terms of how he sustained himself during the many years outside of a couple of years on and off doing some accounting and around 18 mo of carrying mail .

So we have a pretty average joe existance, with several conflicted marriages and divorces, no career path and no children.

Then .............Las Vegas shooter gambled and came up short when he lost a slip-and-fall lawsuit against a casino on the strip years before

Stephen Paddock reportedly asked for $100,000 from the Cosmopolitan Hotel stemming from an Oct. 30, 2011,

case was eventually tossed in 2014 – and Paddock still owed $270 in legal fees when he opened fire Sunday night.

He might have been pissed at big rich casinos that did not pay him anything.??

"You wonder what a guy like this is doing at the Cosmo," ..."slovenly and careless" and “bizarre” individual.

It was dismissed so I hear MOO a bogus fall by a man who he has little future, no desire for career but wants some money.

I just aint getting a Richard Branson here!

How long ago did SP buy his two airplanes and what were they used for?

I don't know how miles work. So I'm asking here. If you want a very specific flight, might you not be able to get one with your miles if it's booked pretty solidly?I'm wondering if he wanted her gone by a certain time if he had to pay. Or maybe there are other restrictions on miles? But again, the brother only knows what he was told. Maybe the guy did not have the miles or the money he claimed to have for that matter.

Bolded is true. (Have flown using miles for 30+ years.) It's also true that miles are airline-specific (American, etc), and that his "millions of miles" theoretically could refer to more than one airline, and a mix of national and internatonal airlines. Don't know in his specific case.

But even if he had miles accumulated for the specific airline needed to fly her to Asia, it doesn't mean he could get the flight out he wanted at the drop of a hat. If he were wealthy enough to send $100k to a bank over there, I'd think precise timing was probably a bigger factor to him in booking her flight than saving money by using miles. So I'm inclined to believe the "cheap flight" over 'using miles' story at this point.

He researched locations in Boston also
NBC NEWS: Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock researched possible locations in Boston, per senior law enforcement

I don't think it would be possible in a single engine plane except by hugging the coast of Canada, Alaska, Russia etc etc. According to this:

https://www.quora.com/How-far-can-a-single-engine-airplane-fly

Maximum range would be 2,000 miles.

LA to Hawai'i is 2,500 miles.

Even if he hopped all the way to Ecuador, he couldn't get further across the Pacific than the Galapagos Islands.

My guess is that he planned on being able to get to Mexico and beyond and then pick up a scheduled flight to Asia, probably taking a roundabout route to wherever he wanted to end up. Maybe even backtrack to one of the Pacific nations/archipelagos and try to disappear from sight.

Could have used his private plane to get himself to another country, then catch a flight. That way he leaves no record of a destination.

In this interview, the Sherrif says he rents a room through AirBnB and I take it a show was playing, it was called " Life is Beautiful" I have seen this movie, it was very good. The father tricks his son into thinking the Nazi's are just in a game and the son belives it until the very end where the dad is shot and killed by the Nazi's. Did the killer use this to make a point I wonder? Or maybe it is him foolling everyone till the very end, he is the Nazi? How bizarre. I just wanted to suggest this to see if it makes sense to anyone, btw, where is the Ogden? What is it a hotel?

Did anyone see any sparks coming from either window thro the entire sequence?/

Tried, but couldn't see any. Could be the video I watched moved too much.

I'm sorry but nobody inside the hotel saved any lives. The killer shot all the people he could, then he killed himself, then the SWAT blew their way in and found his dead body an hour later. Please don't make heroes out of people who are not heroes. If you want to make heroes out of anyone, then make them out of the people who were out side risking their lives to help the injured. There was probably a lot of heroes out there.

I think he killed himself after the confrontation in the hallway...

If you have to modify a semiautomatiic to make an automatic, then they are not the same weapon.

Ban the thing that makes it happen (bump stock).
. My thoughts are that law abiding citizens will comply because they have too much to lose if they dont. Meanwhile criminals, like this Vegas shooter, certainly don't conform to the law. You will still have a massive amount of criminals that will continue to aquire these guns illegally then modify these weapons also illegally, then obtain the ammuniction illegally. I have often thought about a situation here in New Orleans with massive crowds like at Mardi Gras or Jazz Fest. We didnt have to lock our doors in New Orleans when i was a child, and now its come to this. Sad.

Could have used his private plane to get himself to another country, then catch a flight. That way he leaves no record of a destination.

First he would have had to get out of the hotel and get to his private plane. There was zero chance of that happening. But if he could have accomplished the impossible and got to his plane, and taken off, there would have been the problem of a little thing called, radar. They could have tracked the plane anywhere it went. There would have been Air Force jet fighters following him. He would have had to escape from the entire US Air Force. That is movie stuff, not real life. But even if he could have accomplished the impossible two times, then where would he have gone? Every country would have been looking for him. This was a lone wolf suicide mission. He knew he was not going to get away.

Thanks tlcya.

It wasn't a movie. It was a different outdoor music festival.

After the confrontation with the security guard. About an hour before the confrontation with SWAT.

This is tmz not sure what they are considered

Bruce Paddock currently lives in California, but he's led a nomadic life. TMZ has pulled court docs which show he's been a regular in the criminal justice system. Among his arrests ...
-- Criminal threats
-- Arson
-- Vandalism
-- Petty theft
-- Burglary
-- Weed
-- Driving on a suspended license
-- Contempt
It's unclear how many of these resulted in convictions. We know for sure the 57-year-old was convicted of petty theft with a prior, and vandalism.
