I think the physical evidence is solid against the perp, but I do anticipate the defense fighting how the DNA was collected. I hope all the evidence collected will be deemed admissible in court.

I agree. I am especially concerned about this person having a diagnosis of paranoid schizophrenia. I also read a NY news article
which said that he originally did deny any involvement. But, as he was being interviewed he began to confess,saying that he wanted to "make things right".....I realized that this trial will be wrenching for the V.s

Does anyone know if NY routinely films interrogations? I want to say yes, they do, but not positive. If they did, no doubt his defense counsel will be looking for evidence of leading, coercion, etc. - potentially dangerous interview of someone with possible diminished capacity. I would like to think LE were careful every step of the way.

If someone is enraged, they can do a lot of damage, even if they are of small stature. Especially if they take someone by surprise. he was able to punch her in the face a few times. That weakened her greatly.

When the name first surfaced/came out and it was placed in google search with images it came up then. Now since the real chanel lewis is known it won't. jmo

JMO I don't think he used his hands when hitting her. There would have been much more damage to his hand/s. I think there is more significance to what Katina's father was carrying the day chanel was arrested. jmo

I'm trying to find article/video. There was a community meeting a few days or weeks after her murder. A top detective had said there is a piece of evidence they found at the scene that they will not disclose of in case the suspect was watching. They did not want them knowing they found something that either belonged or could tie them to the crime. I'm curious now if they found something he used to hit her over the head, or a personal item belonging to him. I wonder if he lost any teeth. And perhaps a tooth was left behind. I'll keep wondering until we know. But I'm hoping they have hardcore physical evidence since they will most likely fight the DNA. Ugh.

One doesn't have to be big in order to be strong. He reportedly confessed and there is DNA evidence. So I don't see any reason to question if they have the right guy.

Not sure the facts of this, but in this video a woman who attended the community meeting says her daughter was raped in the Rockaways on July 17th. No one caught. I'm wondering if now that his DNA is in the system if they will run it against those who did not have a match as well.
