Profiling this guy is tough. Frequents prostitutes, has the means to pay for them (?), house East of Nassau (or hotel), a vehicle to transport the bodies, access to burlap.

and really nothing much else.

For some reason I keep thinking art gallery or craft store. Maybe because there are so many of those on Cape Cod, which I'm more familiar with.

Not many down here, sorry. There are tons of party boats in the area, clamming, and further East- Farms. But Ocean parkway isn't the best, most convenient roadway to North Fork farms. Nor as desolate as some areas around the farms...

I don't think he's necessarily looking for desolation. I think he's looking for a convenient place to dump the trash on his way back to the city after a satisfying weekend. I don't mean to phrase it harshly -- those poor women -- but that seems to be how he thinks about them.

I find it interesting that it was cloudy the night Melissa went missing. The Gibbous moon would have still been fairly bright in the night sky.

I am also thing this killer does his killing after holidays and also after his weekend company/family would leave to return to the city or wherever. Two victims were last seen on Sunday, one on Monday and one on Tuesday.

I am just looking for patterns in this madness!:banghead:

quik question...sorry if it's been posed...but are these mainly credit card transactions? she HAS to get her money...so since she's not a street girl how do they vet these guys?

So do you have to have a credit card...or cash only...I think a credit card says something about our perp...( unlikely to be a seasonal worker or grub). Maybe if she goes to a home...the address is enough?

This is not some clammer who goes on craigslist and orders hookers to meet him at his boat...or a park employee...to pay for a girl to come to a recreational building on an island somewhere for sex is not worth it for her...this is late night...the girs have a common thread...they are not being identified as hookers and picked up randomly...I don't think she will go to a blue collar address...maybe the house they went to to meet their end is closed up in winter months.

I think it might well be a cash transaction, however. No paper trail for either of them, especially for her and the IRS.

This is what they both want, she want's to get paid and it gives him some anonymity, although he already has given out his Phone number, Cell most likely. maybe email. the girl has know way of processing a Credit card. It's probably easier to have the email address then get non traceable Cell Phones. After 9/11 they changed all that, I'm sure there are ways around name and address like anything else.

It's possible, but he feels like an older person to me. Maybe quite old.

I think he owns or works in some kind of tourist season business -- possibly a restaurant, which would give him access to used clam bags. Though in that part of the island, that kind of bag is probably easy to come by.

Can one of the locals tell me, are there any casinos on LI?

I seem him as being in either his late 20s to late 30s.

I do think he is familiar with this area and feels quite comfortable disposing of the bodies there. Imo, he doesn't have to remember the area he placed them he already knows it very well. I would suspect that he may be a little above average intelligence.

I think when he first started discarding his victims in the burlap bags he knew that would blend in with the environmental surroundings there........i.e. brown on brown earth and different brown saw grasses.

Then I think he got bolder when no one was finding his victims and just began to dispose of them without the burlap bag.

I have seen burlap bags put out by the highway by DOT workers to stop erosion or they were there filled with grass or wildflower seeds that were going to be sewn along the area.

He may now move his disposal site if he is compelled to kill again but many times serial killers get a thrill out of the cat and mouse game they play with LE. So it becomes a 'catch me if you can' situation.

Based on what I've heard about the business, I would be surprised if there was any email contact at all between the killer and the women. These particular girls' ads (that we've found so far) all provide phone numbers and say "NO BLOCKED CALLS, NO TEXT MESSAGES" which makes me think that email communication would not fly either. Seems like the girls want an actual voice to voice phone call to be sure the person is serious about following through with the meeting. Just my opinion.

Thanks. I read the remains were 20 to 30 ft off the road. I was thinking 20 feet deep into the underbrush. Didn't realize there was such a large shoulder on the highway. If he had a long-bed pickup, the bed would extend several feet past the rear tires, then opening the tailgate would add some more distance. And noone would think anything of seeing a burlap bag in the back of a pickup - at least not before this. Looks like he could have backed up to the edge of the brush, opened the tailgate, and rolled her right off. Seems like taking time to pose her would be an extra risk, but if the victims were all facing the same direction, that would seem to be more than coincidental.

True but I think the girls might ask for payment up front, which means nothing to him cause he can take it back. That may even put someone at ease, it the girl gets paid she might be thinking that's out of the way. maybe she's even naked, which makes her more vulnerable. Who knows how these wackos do what they do. To take a Life is not normal to begin with.

If they do ID Gilbert, I hope LE takes a very close look at JB as well as the driver (they should have already done this, IMO, and maybe they have). I know there are several theories going around and anything is possible but I really doubt someone else (who just happened to be a serial killer of escorts) ran into her that night while she was on a psychotic break fleeing JB's house. That is so far-fetched to me.

Then again, a lot about this case seems far-fetched and is true nonetheless.

Does anyone know if there actually was a party at JB's house that night? I know he said there was (or the driver said it, or they both did) but I have never heard any confirmation of this or any statements from any other party goers. If there were others there, the suspect pool opens up but I'm pretty sure there was no party.

Sorry if this post is confusing, my thoughts are all over the place.
