Yeah but didn't the article say casings found?

It does, but that is second-hand info that isn't coming directly from the coroner.

I'm not sure the coroner would be privy to other information. Possible, though; I can't say for sure.

Oh yah, he did say casings. Ugh. How would the coroner even know that?!?! I think Kenneth must have misspoke. If the info came from the coroner, it HAD TO BE 2 types of bullets. Right?

Is it true that shotguns dont leave anything to pick up or something like that??

Shotguns leave shells, not casings. And they are full of little pellets. Unless you found all the shells, it would be next to impossible to say how many times someone had been shot.

I do not know why I think this -- I do not think any "dragging" happened. I think it was trying to get away from being shot at ..............what makes most think it was "dragging"

Good question. I'll give it a try.

Gary's father stated the coroner told him Gary was found shot in the head 3 times, laying on top of CR1's legs. They were both in the back bedroom.

If Gary was in the LR and shot, but not dead, the killers would have walked back to shoot CR1 in the back bedroom. If Gary was trying to escape, the safest route would be the front door, since the killers were in the back, near the back door?

According to the news story, the coroner told him and she referred to casings. The coroner must have discussed this with LE, wonder if she found different types of bullets, but couldn't say yet?

I'm still going with two shooters at this crime scene.
I think it probably has to be two shooters, but yeah, casings and the actual bullets would be two different things.

You can have two different shooters and each body have bullets from just one gun. Unless Gary was shot right away and then attention turned to Chris and Gary was moved after Chris was dead, I would think there had to be two people, even if only one actual shooter. One would have to control Gary.

Quoting my own post for the link to the 911 call transcript:

"Caller: The door was locked when I got here, but I have a key to his house, and I went in and they were laying on the floor."

If this is accurate BJM indicates she HAD a key.... I didn't interpret it to be she knew where it was hidden. Just a little tidbit trying to clarify.

the front door was locked and the dogs were nowhere to be found.

I dont think she actually did "it" but I remain confused about her urge to tell the 911 lady that she knew where the key was

I just do not think I would have an urge to address that if I did not know something and that would somehow absolve what I know
I would imagine she's traumatized. She's reliving it as she's telling it.

Her thought process might have been something like:

"I'm here, the door is locked, ok that's weird, where are the dogs? Where IS everyone? Why is it so quiet? Knock... no answer..... is that a baby crying? Mom will take care of it..
Ok here's the key... "

Then total panic.

"OMG OMG OMG It wasn't supposed to be like this!! I just got here, the door was locked so I went in...."

I think she's repeating what was different because she's in shock. It isn't real to her yet so she's trying to absorb the enormity of it all.

Just my opinion, but the difference between someone trying to crawl (not run) away from a shooter and being drug. If you're crawling or "belly" crawling, you're going to leave a smeared, messy trail. Being drug - drag marks. I mean, I'm assuming since they were a hunting family, she'd see the difference. But just my opinion.

If they moved the bodies to the back bedroom and locked the door behind them (per Bobby), they didn't want anyone to come up to the front door and see the bodies inside. At night, especially, anyone coming to the door, finding it locked and seeing no one in the living room would assume they were not home or in bed.

This may mean the killers struck here first and wanted to make sure no one checking on CR1 and Gary raised the alarm before the killers were finished at the other crime scenes and gone.

OK this is just my take. I think this was at 2-5 in the morning. I do not think they were afraid of people stopping by for a visit in the middle of the night . IMO the locking (if accurate these are not top of the line living quarters!) would be to try and make it look like a inside job.

I do apolgize but I find BJ offering the key stuff very bizaire as it relates to what she just " experinced" IMO it sounds like something she thought she better get into the call -- what that means no clue but IMO its atypical ...

weird .........noone asked her how she got in noone cared at that moment........

In this case I would say yes because I'm guessing CBI is handling this stuff. Usually these small towns don't have actual coroners and things are handled differently, but I doubt anything is being done locally.

Does anyone have the audio of the 911 call? I SWEAR she said she knew where the key was, so she went in. This transcript isn't correct.

I thought it was she knew where the key was.

Maybe it was Leonard who said she knew where the key was? I know I heard it somewhere...
