i thought I counted 7 hearses, but I thought two of them already had their funerals. Maybe I miscounted.
seeing those hearses really accentuated the loss. So sobering.

Maybe they used one for flowers? I thought I saw a van though.

Wow, now that I had a chance to watch that.. Just put me into tears. How can it not?

And there is SO much drug trafficking in Detroit because of the Canadian border.
With all the property and family they have, it could be a real money maker for them if they have the connections to turn it over to for an area like Detroit. It seems they had the connections.

They could also easily put indoor operations on some of that other property. They may have had specific plans to do this and expand on that way and someone didn't like that.

Honestly I didn't see the need for the news crew to be across from the entrance filming the people that were there/ leaving, it just wasn't necessary. jmo

I don't like news doing that kind of thing. I always boycott when they do that sort of thing. There is no reason for doing that.

QUOTE=winterrose;12520596]On the radio show, the reporter in Pike County says it's almost military like how they were killed. There's alot of agricultural work in Pike County with Mexican workers. He questions if this was a competitive situation with cartel. Very few pieces of info given by LE, so it's hard to say but it seems professional, a planned operation, a plan to get in where there's dogs. He thinks they wanted something from victims, overall picture is they wanted something from the people in first trailer. He said they were executed, terminated in a manner like you see in a mob ordered and went about it like a business. He said who would have this done in such a professional manner is like pulp fiction. The host commented someone said it's an inside job. The reporter said before the victims got guns they were killed, or they trusted them with such a beef against someone to kill 8 people, how would you not have an inkling something was wrong?[/QUOTE] BBM-I wish someone who ask him who the 1st trailer was. Yes we all want to know who was murdered 1st.

Well all that must fuel the problem. When I broke my ankle years ago I don't think the doc would have just kept giving me pain meds over and over. Also with my kidney stones, after my last surgery and all was clear, if I had kept calling in pain, the doc would have believed me because he knows me.. BUT.. He would have immediately checked to see if something else was still going on that was missed and probably give me one prescription, but if he found nothing, he would send me to another specialist.

Also I had two ER visits with the stones and my primary care knew and they got records of my surgeries also, the doctor called to check on me for each visit and surgery.

Maybe that is more closely followed here because I am in a larger city and there is a network for the hospitals and the doctors.
You can't get pain pills from a doctor in my community. I'm sure they're on the streets. I got four wisdom teeth out and was sent home with Moltrin. Sliced my hand and got stitches. Yep Moltrin.

Necessary. No. But society has done it. Give us dirty laundry and all. And look at all the digging we do. I can't fault the media. I'm just as bad.

No that is crazy.. That is what happens when they start handling a problem like drugs in this manner, same with guns.. The "law abiding" suffer and the others just get their drugs or guns on the streets.

I hope we get an arrest soon. This is terrible.

It is the putting their car tags and zooming on on their faces, on TV. There is a step back they can take and cover the story.

At Gary's funeral, I saw a couple of people I recognized because they zoomed in so close.

I would not be surprised if one of the media with camera is an undercover agent filming the crowd. LE is blending in with other reporters. No one would think it odd an unknown reporter is there, as this is such a big case, media is coming in from all over....easy to blend in. The murder might be in the crowd. I know family members who are LE have done this in the past. They learn a lot. Yes you are correct, it is not pleasant for the family.

And then they probably turned around and complained about how the media is portraying them...

I give anything said today a pass. I think everyone does. Including media really. Too much grief. Too much pain today.

I think the perscription pain medication is a little different in that the body becomes addicted very quickly because of the way the chemical reacts in the brain. So taking it for legitimate reasons can still cause an addiction. At least that is what some of the research I have read is saying. It seems like some are more sensitive to it than others. I can't take it at all.

The thing is, these media people are also being assigned to it because it's their job. I'm sure some of them feel bad they were there.

There needs to be more training for sure, but with anything where you start slapping more and more laws, the law abiding people that need it or aren't doing anything wrong, end up getting hurt. Shutting down the pill mills has also led to more heroin, something they didn't see coming but should have. That tells me people that understand addiction and pain management aren't being consulted in the decisions here.

"We shut down pill mills" sounds good on a campaign trail, they don't finish and say "now heroin use is growing like crazy".

I work in local government but I have issues with government involvement in too many things, they tend to see things very black and white. Black and white is shutting down pill mills and thinking the problem is solved. Ummm.. No it isn't, you've traded one problem for another and that new problem could be very much more dangerous for everyone. Including treatment and continuing education for doctors so legit people don't suffer, would go a long way in curbing the heroin use.

Agreed. And I think this is where K has boxed himself in. He likes quick fixes and he promised a lot of them. To his credit he's trying to mop up the mess. But he doesn't want folks connecting the dots.

Geez, they are given out like candy around here (RIC, VA). I manage several medical practices and see the same patients week after week wanting more. Sometimes crying and begging for them. It's sad.

The problem is this- you almost have to fill it (at least when it's refill time). If not the patient can go through life threatening withdraws. It's a catch 22.

The good news is that the pharmacist are really watching whats being written and by who.I get several phone calls daily questioning prescriptions. DEA and FDA, are really cracking down on doctors. It should have happened a long time ago. Hell-I've watched doctors purposely (dead serious) give addicting meds so the patients have to come back. They cant make money with all the reimbursement cuts.

Idk. I don't know what LE has asked them to help with.
