I doubt he'll get any kind of bond. He's rather proven he's a flight risk.

ETA. I'm hoping Federal charges will be filed. He can share a jail cell with Todd Cummins.

Hopefully AY will cooperate with authorities and not try to defend him. I’d like to see Federal charges filed. The interference with custody charge is pretty weak.

Hope LE took the bedding from his apartment and from wherever they slept in MX for DNA. Mann Act time

Kevin Esterly and AY were both taken into custody Saturday, according to Allentown police. It ended a search dating back nearly two weeks.

"Esterly was placed into custody by Mexican authorities. A is unharmed and in good health," states a release from Allentown police. "They will be escorted back to the United States to Miami Florida by Homeland Security Investigations agents and United States Marshall Service deputies. Once back in the United States, arrangements will be made to get A back to Allentown to be reunited with her mother. Esterly will be turned over to the Miami Police Department and then the extradition process will begin to bring him back to Allentown."

*Redacting AY's name to make it easier for the mods later.

That is so sad. She has a lot to learn about life, she has treated her mom soooo badly.

Seemingly guided by an adult with twisted motives fueling the fire to hate her mother.
If he has been grooming her since she was 8 years old...

AY need lots of real love now. She has been put back into the mess she ran away from KE just allowed her to escape the mess HE has made of everyone''s life. They may say she went willingly, I say that in her young mind, she felt she had no other choice. She probably doesn't want to see her mother because she is feeling ashamed of all that has happened and can'take stand to face it right now.. I wish she could see this whole thread of people, who she doesn't even know, who were worried sick about her.

He looks a bit constipated to me. I hope he had massive flatulance in her presence the entire time. I'd think that would flog the romantic stars right out of a young teen's eyes.

I don't understand why both of them look so happy in the photos taken after they are found? I thought that they would look massively upset about their plans being ruined. Did I miss something?

She may be secretly relieved. He seems proud and self-satisfied. Typical predator.

Is this his mugshot from yesterday?!?!?!/

Ugh.

Wouldn‘t a judge automatically order a no-contact order in case he gets bail?

Yes but I agree that a civil restraining order would be important as well. She can get one that lasts until AY is 18. He may be out before then depending on the ultimate charges.

I'm SO happy she's been found, but this is what I was afraid of:

Praying she and her family get some good counseling and help during the reintegration process. What a sad mess :(

I'm sure she's pretty ashamed and confused. I'm not worried. In all these cases I have yet to hear of one in which the teen girl ran away again or ended up with their predator with an age gap of 10 years or more.

Once they are freed they tend to snap out of it. ET had intensive, in-patient therapy that seems quite successful. I was so impressed. She was able to realize she had been victimized and why. She seems to be doing well now and advocating for herself and her needs.

Sometimes there are family issues that the predator takes advantage of. But it's just another person they can't trust and they almost all seem to realize that pretty quickly.

I think the bloom comes off the rose very fast in cases where a teen is taken by some vastly older creep. They experience the reality of the predator and being exploited by some older creep instead of having romantic experiences with someone closer in age to them. It's got to be weird and creepy and gross.

I pray that his own daughters were spared his twisted sense of love.

What is Custodial Interference?

Where are the kidnapping charges?

I thought he was facing a raft of charges like the Cummings guy?

This baby charge just doesn't sound right to me. Jmo

It's a substantial charge - a 3rd degree felony. LE needs one charge to hold him on until they figure out what else to charge him with. I predict that there will be a few other charges forthcoming as well. If it follows with the Cummins case, the Federal charges will be brought to trial first.

I think there is a technicality in kidnapping that requires the person to be unwilling? I know it also doesn’t cover what the time length, distance you’re taken or how well you’re concealed as long as the victim is unwilling.

Kidnapping charges are sometimes used in prosecuting rapists who move the victim to a more secluded spot- even if they didn’t plan on keeping them. Rapist defenders get all upset about that.

He will likely face additional charges after the extradition process - I read that in one of the articles from last night.

Thank you all. Because I dont want these guys thinking that its only a slap on the wrist to runaway with our teen daughters to other countries.
