I did a google search for Peru Newspapers, I found this, it sounds like the Peruvian police do not think his confession was "sincere".

http://translate.google.com/transla...a/seccion.php?txtSecci_id=4&txtNota_id=368851

snipped from above:

Officers found several aggravating circumstances in the investigation against Van der Sloot and established that he acted with malice and ferocity against their victim to cause death, to thus seize the money she won hours earlier that day at the Atlantic City casino , so it is facing an offense against property with subsequent death, said a source.

Proof of this is that he was not the victim found any valuables in your vehicle and not on the crime scene. And the heavy blows inflicted on his victim were not only to frighten or reduce it, but had every intention of killing her. The version that holds over the circumstances that to act with extreme violence is an alibi for the sole purpose of reducing the crime.

Thank you so much for your post and link!

This is exactly what I was hoping for. LE doesn't believe his 'confession' and they're most likely going to proceed accordingly. They have enough evidence, IMHO, to convict and he'll get the lonnnggggerrrr sentence. Good!

He thought he could multiple confess, whine, plea and deal to get outta' this just like he did in Aruba. Well, I've been waiting a long time to say this but:

Joran, you just don't understand their (Peruvian) justice system!

Phew! That felt good! If you'd followed the Holloway case closely, you would have seen that saying towards the Holloway/Twittys, oh at least 2000 times! Every time they'd disagree with something Aruba did, they were chastised, even on U.S. tv, for not understanding Aruban justice system.

Well, now the tides have turned. Joran is NOT going to get outta' this. Holland and Aruba can complain all they want. But he's in Peruvian custody and the CRIME was committed in Perue.

Peru knows it doesn't need Joran's confession because he's a known :liar: anyway. But, the EVIDENCE speaks volumes to PLE.

Joran is toast!

I recall reading he got a $50,000 monthly allowance but that was way back before he was even 18. I'm not sure when (or if, even) it dried up. I would assume when his father passed away. But it's been reported that he'd been making desperate and repeated calls to his friends for money for some time.
There was an article wayyyyyyyyyy back in these threads (please don't ask me to go find it) but it said that mom had basically cut him off after his father passed away. So he was broke.

Thanks so very much! :) She still could've had several large bills on her that could've been folded in her jeans pocket. MOO

It ends up that the information provided in the link seems to leave out a 5000 soles' bill.

She has bruising that shows she was defending herself, so she definitely wasn't asleep.

Yet another article said that he supposedly had no marks on his body, so I would not be so sure she was able to defend herself.

5000 soles is ONE paper bill

so not hard to hide in pant pockets

Good find PrinceSSa! Would you be so kind as to go back and edit your post and put picture of 5000 soles in the title and that way when one of us searches in the future for your amazing find we can readily link to it?

Thanks! :blowkiss:

Just IMHO about the part of your post I bolded.

JMHO but he did it because:

1. He could
2. He wanted to
3. Some other unnamed pathological reason we don't know about

Dangerous man there IMHO.

As many of us learned in the Scott Peterson trial... he did not have to have a reason for the multitude of horrendous things he did. We also learned how VERY DIFFICULT IT IS for a sane, empathetic human to think as a psychopath does! History seems to be repeating itself with great similarities in this case. Rage, narcissism and being a psychopath are obviously lethal combinations. Bless the families and friends of the victims.

I'm curious to know whether or not Joran has the same laptop that he had in 2005. I highly doubt it with all the traveling he has done. My husband's company replaces their traveler's laptops every two years because of the wear and tear of travel. How much info (other than the FBI sting operation) could Joran's laptop have on it inre to NH? I doubt there is anything on it inre to Stephany other than if she googled or snooped during the time he says she did. I call BS on that.

Are you sure it was $50,000 a month??? That's a lot of d*mn money in my book.

If that's true where did his family get $600,000 a year to give a kid for an allowance?

Do we know WHEN Stephany won the 5,000 soles? Was it before she took her friends home and stopped by her house or after she returned to the casino? Because if it was before, I would think she would leave the cash -- or at least most of it -- at home for safekeeping.

That's gotta be high. The VDS family didn't seem THAT rich -- they lived in a pretty modest cinder block house on Aruba. They seemed much better off than the average Aruban, to be sure, but not incredibly wealthy. Anyone know?

NG-How has JVDS supported himself?

Details of JVDS finances are unknown at this point. from Aruba reporter

Not sure I'm doing this right.....:waitasec: adding a pic to the title seems more complex than adding a pic to the post, so I'm unsure of how this may work.

Yup you did it right LOL my request made it seem as if I was asking you to do something very complex ---I'm sorry :D and thank you for adding the title. that is such an important find I hate to lose it :)

I'm not sure exactly when she won it, but it was her family who said there wasn't any money found with her body. So whatever amount she may have had, and from their statement it appears she should've had the money with her, it seems Joran took. MOO
