Son Faces Murder Counts After Parents’ Remains Are Found

Kyle Navin’s relationship with his parents had long been tumultuous, and a 27-page affidavit used to obtain the arrest warrant of Ms. Valiante showed that it had become increasingly acrimonious in recent months.

Both Jeanette and Jeffrey Navin had confided in friends that they were worried about their son’s drug use. The couple planned to sell their trash-hauling business and cut him out of their will, Ms. Navin told a friend in late July, according to the affidavit.

In May, Kyle Navin sent a text message to Ms. Valiante about plans to “take them down,” referring to his parents, and “get some money out of them somehow.”

In July, he sent a text message to her about a plan to “solve every single problem and give us a wealthy amazing life.”

According to the affidavit, she replied: “I hear ya. It sounds very good I just don’t know.”

After a few exchanges, he wrote, “Wipe out the infection and get $ for life. ... It’s perfect plan.”

Police Obtain Warrant for Kyle Navin's Arrest On Charges Of Murdering Parents

In the warrant obtained by state police charging Valiante, investigators described DNA evidence found in both Kyle Navin's truck and in the basement of his home.

Blood found along with a bullet hole on the front passenger seat of the Kyle Navin's truck tested positive for Jeanette Navin's blood, according to the warrant. In the basement of Kyle Navin's Bridgeport home, police found blood stains that tested positive for both his blood and his father's blood.

According to the warrant, Jeanette Navin's remains were found covered by a blue tarp with silver duct tape on it, in a pile of brush and leaves on property on Norfield Road. Jeffrey Navin's remains were also found on the property inside dark contractor bags. The legs were bound with painter's tape.

The bodies were identified using dental records, according to the warrant.

Jeanette Navin's remains were X-rayed, revealing an object "consistent with a bullet in the chest region," the warrant said. A projectile, investigators said in the warrant, was recovered from the pelvic area of Jeffery Navin's remains.

Looks like LE has everything they need to put him away for life. DNA in basement. There is his sick motive, " cut him out of thier will". And there is premeditated murder, " wipe out the infection and get $ for life".

Just thinking here, KN bought bags and cleaner on the 5th, did he keep his parents bodies in the basement overnight? Thats horrific . ....
This must be so difficult for the family, I understand there is a younger sibling. Very sad

According to that Courant story linked above, the father was found with a projectile in his pelvic area. Sounds like Kyle had a lot of rage towards his dad in particular. And it does sound like he killed his mother first. What a sick excuse for a human being. He felt entitled to his parents money and killed to get it. I wonder if he was aware of their financial struggles. I also wonder how long he's been a drugged out mess.

This is such a shock for this quiet community. You just don't typically hear about crimes like this happening here.

Text messages released in a police report depict a drug-addled young man raging at his parents.
Kyle texted his girlfriend after a fight with his dad on July 8.
“I was trying not to punch him in the face and get arrested,” Kyle wrote. “If I do punch him I won’t be able to stop.”
Later Valiante tells Kyle: “I don’t like how they call all the shots.”
In a sinister sounding text, Kyle said: “Wipe out the infection and get $ for life. It’s a perfect plan.”

I'm familiar with the area, as I work nearby. Such a sad story, likely all fueled by drugs. Sounds like they have more than enough evidence to convict KN.

Yes, a younger brother. 2years younger . Very sad, horrible , nauseating.

I should probably provide a link to the question I posed earlier in this case.
If anyone ever asked you if you had guns in the house before their child came over.
Any way, Jeanette Navin was the only person who ever asked me that.
kn was about 8-9.
It's so creepy and prophetic to me. I keep hearing it over in my head and it was nearly 20 years ago.
Few years Later Years I stopped letting my son hang with them.

It's just all too horrible to believe.
But it does look like we have all other questions we've wondered about answered. Is the whole affidavit and other documents released?

I am so glad he solved all his problems and is set for life. He had a goal and reached it. Congratulations! (sarcasm intended)

I asked a new neighbor whom I had recently just met who had a son the same age as mine (4 y/o). She answered yes, there was one -- a handgun. I did not continue our relationship because I already had a "funny" feeling about the family -- that's what prompted my question about the firearm in the first place. I do not like guns, either. We see so many bad things happen when they are not secured. JMHO.

It was the first time I had ever felt like I needed to ask, and I have never asked anyone since.

What worries me more is single/divorced mom with other adult males coming and going from the house.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit for Navin's girlfriend, Jennifer Valiante, police say Jeanette Navin had been distraught over the situation with her son in the days before she and her husband disappeared.

Jeanette Navin told a longtime acquaintance her relationship with her son had been "very tempestuous" and that she suspected he was abusing drugs, according to the affidavit. She also confided that the couple had purchased a home for their son but he was failing to pay the mortgage and taxes.
