Cops on ATVs headed behind the gravel pit. @fox13now #findsusan #Utah http://t.co/psUa9NW

If you go to Ely on google maps just a few miles out of town going northwest on 50 there is a dirt road and if you zoom in it looks like a gravel pit and I think you can see that gravel seperator in it too.

I can't believe they would contaminate a crime scene by taking reporters. This is really bizzare!

I really don't think the LE are misleading anyone. They sure are getting beat up verbally by reporters on twitter, even Josh's brother-in-law too.

You just wouldn't make this as big as it is for nothing. The LE seemed very confident. I like that.

I hope they found her!

Maybe they know that we are all going to find her? Just because these particular LE haven't been there doesn't mean others haven't.

How close is this to the area where they supposedly camped? Is it within distance of him being able to dump her body? I haven't been following as close as some of you. Thanks...

252 miles from Ely (it may look shorter on some maps, because Google routes you through Dugway -- which is not possible).

It's a lot of near-impassable roads, for a minivan driving in the dark of a freezing, winter night. He wouldn't have reached a paved road, until he hit Brush Road near Delta.

Either that, or he'd have had to backtrack to US-6 near Eureka: MAP

Mining in Ely: old, obscure small mines AND one of the world's largest (now-closed) open pit copper mines at McGill.
McGill is also a huge superfund site, with lots of activity over the past few years to mitigate the tailings.

At the first of the presser, the media was told to "stay in line" and that they'd be given directions on "where to walk".

That's about where that Garnet Hill place is too. That's where I was looking! xoxo

This area has become a dumping ground. I've seen old fridges, garbage, etc. Sort of explains why we're all here. @fox13now #findsusan #Utah

White Pine County sheriff just told us his team is going to regroup and go farther. #SusanPowell #FindSusan

The way that road bends in the picture I think that is the spot on Route 50 I talked about.

I would be interested in the secrecy order's language. My mind is almost on it but then it stops.

I suppose they cannot talk about the investigation due to the order, but maybe the order doesn't state the PRESS. All they did was state they are checking up on a lead and reporters are welcome to come along. That tells me they are skirtting the secrecy order within legal parameters. If the press happens to see something the Police have clean hands knowing the press will report it. In a way to get the secrecy order lifted. I'm willing to bet the Judge might NOT be happy but they probably did not violate the order.

What in the world is going on... why would they have taken media with them? This is a circus.

I bet they have already found her. This is all for Josh and trying to get him to talk or run. It has worked so far, they have gotten him to talk.

And he is just so smug,, isn't he?

Is it possible because of the secrecy order that the police know they can't stop media from reporting the actions or what the find is if it is happening in front of them? If they were to search and find something themselves, then they couldn't come out and REPORT they found this or they found that, but if the media are there, they can report what they are seeing all day long!! And whatever reaction JP has will be closely monitored also by media as well as investigators. So they aren't technically breaking the secrecy order, they just found a way to get around it?? Maybe... I don't know. It's all just bizarrio.
